Well I had to take the bumper off and drill through the frame to install them (hence the lights and grille being removed when I took the pic) but you get the idea.

Been a while since I've used this Jeep to make money in the winter pulling people out of the snow... now I won't be limited to using my tow hitch :D

There is a kit from Kevin's Offroad that is a stronger rad support and gives you D-ring loops, but I kind of like the stock look.

Maybe when it's strictly my daily driver again and I end up putting a 4" long arm lift and 35's I'll go for something a bit more robust. i actually want to build a steel bumper that fits behind the stock plastic bumper cover so I can rock a clean look on the road and pop the bumpers off for off-road times.

Yeah... it's never been done but looking at the impact absorber inside of the plastic bumper cover as well as how much room is on the sides/how far out the slider pins that support he plastic bumper over on the sides stick out... it can easily be done... with little modification to the original structure

I can run my shit 30-40 miles after it reaches "0 Miles DTE" on the overhead console... and that needle goes way below E. Still passes people doing 70mph ...

My gas thingie is digital. Tells me how many miles left but i can roll a few after 0 miles. Haven't done that in ages tho.

I have a fuel gauge with a needle, yes, oh and I do like gauges with needles... much better for a quick glance. I also have a low fuel light. But ALSO! I have an overhead console that not only has a compass and temperature, but also has a (second) trip odometer, miles Due To Empty (DTE), average MPG, and instant MPG... oh and an elapsed time feature I never use.

 

Again, gone 30-40 miles past the "0 DTE" mark.

I have all that. Dont kno what elasped time thingie is. The compass and temp on the rearview is in the 2016 model unfortunately..in my car its near the fuel guage and i dont pay it any attention 

Most used feature is blind spot indicator cuz im blind as a bat and it dings everytime i try to merge into someone lol

I also can go a lot more places in a lot worse weather than you can...

No, you drove on packed down parking lot. Not soft sand where you need to air down your tires and you absolutely need 4x4 low range or your transmission will overheat to the point of catching fire.

I drove the Mustang onto a sound side beach in the OBX... blasted through the like 200 feet of soft sand and got to the wet hard sand. That’s the easy part.

My Jeep has a dial that says "Sand" on it.

I might do a front locker... the rear is getting a Ford Explorer 8.8 swap with some sort of Trac-Lok... people do all this crazy expensive shit with spools and Aussie Lockers and shit... when in reality a stock Explorer Trak-Lok with upgraded clutches works wonders for street and off-road driving. Plus I can keep the Explorer discs and the Grand Cherokee parking brake cables work... and that entire setup is superior to what Chrysler slapped together...

 

Sounds like a lot... but remember, I sold the Jeep for $2k to a family member who really needed a vehicle and I got it back three years later for free because a "reputable shop" couldn't get rid of the check engine light and therefore couldn't pass emissions. nuts to them, they used all cheap brand ignition parts and sensors chasing the issue. I haven't seen a check engine light in over 9500 miles since I actually fixed it... for less than $40.

 

Oh, and I almost... ALMOST picked up a Grand Cherokee 5.9 Dana 44 rearend the other day for way cheap but that aluminum housing worries me... and the Ford rear has such a better aftermarket support.
