Guest Alien_Nation
Not surprising. Looks good. Will probably be only the second film I see in theaters this year, the first one being Dragon Ball Super Broly.
Jman
Joker took top honors at the Venice Film Festival, which is essentially the Oscar season pre-show. So expect major Oscar buzz. I do like how Joker is basically the new Hamlet for film actors.
DragonSinger
Read the Hollywood Reporter link. Yeah, I'm gonna hate this. I'm out. That backstory is just boring and unoriginal as fuck. It's my preference, but Joker for me works best as a psychopath from the start, and no one wants to put effort into that kind of a movie. The1gairon
... you know, Joker can get rid of its name, change the color scheme of his wardrobe, and get rid off the basic traits that make the character recognizable, and you'd be left with your standard indie-made, Oscar-baited movie. So i'm not surprised.

So i'm not surprised. You don't understand, Elfie. If you put a bunch of washed up drama cliches with a lowbrow comic book movie, it becomes avant-garde. Or as this person describes it:
Guest Alien_Nation
Ya'll ain't even seen it calling it cliche, unoriginal and boring. 😂
Ginguy
Hmmm. Best Joker backstory is still from Killing Joke imo, but I might actually check this out. Basically as long as it is Jared Leto's meth'd out Joker I'm willing to entertain it.
