I would imagine being that close to wetlands, your soil is rich. You could produce a hell of a garden.

Oh it totally is, it is just a task trying to not have it flooded. Looking into seeing if our city allows french drains as that would likely help but still keep the soil.

There are plans for one.

Sweet. We just got our vacuum sealer. And it works amazingly. So, this summer, we will be freezing a ton of produce. The vacuum sealer is a very handy tool. We plan to can some things as well this year. Gardening is enjoyable.

Pretty big

Except we are near a nature reserve/low land so lots of flooding in spring and large storms.

Is that just a low area, or do you actually have a pond or creek feeding it?

Just a low area; had a ton of snow in late winter so there was a huge amount of melt.

Last apartment we were in, landlords let us put up a couple raised beds in the front yard and we grew a handful of veggies.

I'd like to do something similar here. That island out in  the middle there get good sunlight.

I was thinking about a mound of dirt. To elevate the planting ground. You should be fine with a little elevation. A little extra water isn't going to kill the garden.
