Anyone ever outright tell you that the band you're listening to sucks?

Had this happen the other day.

Was listening to 'The Long Lack After' by Pianos Become the Teeth and one of my friends said he outright hated it.

He didn't ask me to turn it off but he sounded so earnest that I did. It was kind of embarrassing.

Usually I just ignore stuff other people are playing if I don't like it or I move to a quieter area.

One time I was listening to Death Grips and my friend came into the room and asked me "What is that?"

I gave him a half-assed explanation like "oh ya know experimental hip-hop" and he listened to the lyrics for a second and said "That guy's horrible."

But my friend was cool about it.

First off Imma listen to this band now because I've never heard them.

Second of all, people who do that are pricks. Just say you're not a fan. People can jive with that way easier.

I hope you're in the mood for some screamo.

And not, like, the melodic kind of screamo.

But the my friends play music while I shout my LiveJournal posts into a microphone kind.

I find it challenging to listen to, personally. But, I like to give things a chance.

Yeah the particular album you posted about is really tough but I'll see where I am with a few listens. The later stuff seems more accessible

If you want to tap out and listen to something a little more accessible you could dig on some sadgirling:

Tad more digestible.
