How to stop having a panic attack?

I used to just deal with it. Maybe try to sleep. Try to breath. One thing that helped was figuring out what I'd need to hear, forming it into a positive affirmation, and then using it as a mantra. For example, if i felt i was losing control I'd repeat "I am in calm and in control". If you repeat it enough times your brain starts to accept it. 

 

Now adays I just smoke more weed. I seem to know something while high that i don't while sober. I couldn't tell you right now what it is because I'm not high, but that guy has it all figured out.

I don't know, but MOSTLY once my doctor diagnosed me with depression and panic disorder, started giving me meds and told me to get therapy, the panic attacks stopped. However, FIFTEEN FUCKING YEARS after I stopped getting any, I got one like last month or so. And I have no idea why. :| When I got them in 2003, my doctor told me they were tied to my depression. She was right in that I was depressed back then. As for now, I think my life is better than it ever has been as an adult and I don't feel depressed, so why I got another panic attack after all this time, I have no friggin idea. :|
