When life imitates art

After listening to all the Opie and Anthony Patrice shit you can really see the hole he left in New York comedy. He was a great mediator when people had problems, and a corny motherfucker all the time.

Bill Burr had a secondhand story after he died, Patrice was In England waiting to go on a show and he found a book with talent in it, and if you went far back enough it had people with no agents and personal phone numbers. So he started calling them, some guy with a puppet, "hey, how much to book the puppet? We don't want you, just the puppet." Some other guy, "How much for you to just stop?"

And another one of him at some animal friendliness brunch where everyone before him bombed because no one was paying attention. So when he went up he told a detailed story of killing and preparing a puppy for breakfast. They tried to throw him off stage but he stayed to disrupt all their shit.

Anyway, his ghost would laugh at this.

I miss the guy, but honestly, while I hate he's gone, I'm glad I don't have to watch his decline like I am with many onter, far more celebrated comedians.

I kinds feel like Patrice wouldn't wind up like them......But you never know.

What I'm saying is i have nothing but great memories of the dude.....Ripped all the seasons of Tough Crowd just so I could watch the shit that introduced me to him.
