Poof
They didn’t copyright the likenesses their cartoon characters were based on even tho it was themselves? Then Hollywood makes a big movie about them without them?

SlappyKincaid
Lots of things happened. It's a great movie, the deleted scenes are pretty good, too.

SlappyKincaid
I remember a scene (although not the actual dialogue) where silent bob quotes a bunch of legalese at the guy who basically screwed them over, but even though that is essentially the driving force of the plot, I can't remember the specifics of how or why the in-movie movie was being made. My favorite scene is probably the one where they go around with a giant printout of internet shitposts, and fly around the country beating up the people who talked shit about them. Chapinator_X
I think because it was still their voices, they had more of a reason not to attack the cartoon's production. Meanwhile, their likeness was used without their involvement or consent for the Bluntman and Chronic movie. They weren't even playing their characters or themselves, so it was a slap in the face from Miramax to have made a movie about them behind their backs.

I remember Hot Topic had a contest for this movie and then a Rick & Morty contest after and the Rick & Morty contest has already ended but the Jay & Silent Bob one kind of went silent...Bob.
