nameraka Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 puppy's been holding his tale odd all day. it's kinda droopy, like he's sad or in pain, but he's not acting strange otherwise. no whining or anything. just droopy tail. the tail itself also doesn't seem to be causing him pain. he'll let me touch it. he can also wag it, but seems to not want to. ideas???
nameraka Posted December 9, 2017 Author Posted December 9, 2017 i've had enough of them over the years, you'd think i'd know, but this is a new one to me. internet says it could actually be a reaction to the cold weather... idk. he's got a vet visit in a week anyway. i just worry...
Cau Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 I guess you don't just excite him the way you used to. =[

If I didn’t have buttcheeks I’d let my tail cover my exposed anus in cold weather too

katt_goddess Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 If there's no actual signs of trauma and he doesn't react negatively if you touch the tail or manually move it [within reason obviously, it's a tail not a tentacle] then it's not a physical issue. As you found online, it may just be the cold weather and puppo doesn't want to expose his butthole to frostbite unless he really has to. Keep an eye out for odd grooming patterns just to be safe though. If there starts to be a weird build-up near the base of the tail and / or he starts to chew on it, then it could be mites. Very unlikely though but just something to watch for.
