Did they spend a bit of time in the wilderness? Yeah, I don't understand that either! Gonna have to rewatch to see what was going on!

Maybe not a VAST fortune but it takes some money to support a mansion and multiple holiday homes. She cheated on the guy that saved her? Wait did he marry her when she was a kid?! Lots of crucial gaps need to be filled in here! Zenigata, like a pimp. So she did have the money and decided to use it for a good cause. Run for office and get rid of the mafia!
