fuggnificent Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 no deaths yet altho i resent the fuck outta the little fucker. i have to do total water changes once a week and throw away his filter once a week. hes a dirty little fucker. the filter is suppose to last a month
NaBarney Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Don't change the filter medium once a week. Read about biological filtration.
fuggnificent Posted July 15, 2017 Author Posted July 15, 2017 Don't change the filter medium once a week. Read about biological filtration. i did read about the healthy bacteria and all that jazz. theres a little dirty mesh that sits next to the filter that i keep in there and dont clean but i have to take out the actual filter because it gets so dirty water stops passing through it and overflows the whole thing
fuggnificent Posted July 15, 2017 Author Posted July 15, 2017 You has baby turtle? yes i has. my daughter wanted some kind of any kind of pet
fuggnificent Posted July 16, 2017 Author Posted July 16, 2017 I like turtles i used to like em *grumbles* this lil bastard shows zero affection and still wont let me touch him doesnt stop him from begging for food. like he knows im a food source but doesnt want to further our relationship past that
fuggnificent Posted July 16, 2017 Author Posted July 16, 2017 Maybe he just got out of a serious relationship i aint trying to hear that. i have *needs*.
fuggnificent Posted July 16, 2017 Author Posted July 16, 2017 Give him time i dont think he's capable of love. typical millenial. so self absorbed.
PhilosipherStoned Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 With a good filter you shouldn't have to change it once a week i'd think.. Most of the contammination is going to be from left over bit's of food. Don't overfeed, and once it's done feeding you can net out the leftovers before they break up and that'll help keep the water liveable.
PhilosipherStoned Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Also you got a uv lamp right? Like I said in your other thread about this. The turtle wont be able to grow, or even live very well without some direct uv rays daily.
