Yeah, the more this world is expanded upon, the more the premise falls apart. The first movie worked well by itself, but beyond that... Still, you think the writers' of this could have at least done some basic scientific research. Unless maybe they were forced to follow stuff the Wachowskis had laid out.

When this was made, it was initially meant to be taking place in "present day." x_x

One nitpick I have, yeah, the robots wouldn't be harmed by the radiation from the nukes (actually they probably would, radiation is harmful to technology, plus nukes also create an EMP,) but they'd still get blown the hell up! So that didn't make much sense. They should have said the machines had underground factories that were able to replenish their forces.

I thought it was funny how primitive the robots looked in the backstory. I wouldn't have expected those kinds of designs.

Good to finally have a release window. I could have sworn it was supposed to come out sooner, but maybe I am misremembering, or things got pushed back. And yeah, do NOT do a 1:1 adaptation of the last arc. There are lots of things that got glossed over or never followed up on, some stuff that was off-paneled some stuff that was just never shown or referenced period again. I understand Kubo was sick and later found out he had a fracture in his drawing arm, so had to end things somewhat abruptly. But if he knew he wasn't feeling well, why didn't he budget his time better? There were lots of repetitive scenes and things dragged out that weren't necessary, which could have given time to other stuff that desperately needed it.

I like the retro futuristic look of the tech. I guess following what was used in the original movie. I can't recall since it's been forever since I've seen it. I never did get around to re-watching it.

Given Matrix 2 and 3 sucked, the new movie being good is highly unlikely.
