Yep, if you really want to motivate Goku, you've got to put innocents and people he cares about in danger. Beerus has figured this out quickly. Beerus is playing hacky sack with a death ball. There ya' go, just destroy/cancel out the energy ball with your own blast. If Beerus really wanted to make it tough on Goku he could've sent those energy orbs flying in all different directions. If they're blind to god energy then why does Vegeta seem to know what's going on? Ah hell, Goku is going to get a full course now.

Piccolo... there's nothing you can do it has to be left to Goku, but the only reason Goku can even do anything is because people gave their power over to him... It makes me wonder how techniques like Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God got lost to history. I mean, there obviously weren't any pure-hearted Saiyans on Planet Vegeta by the time we met them in the series. And well, Vegeta was able to turn Super Saiyan because his heart was "pure... pure evil." How the hell is he compacting an energy ball? It's no fun for Beerus if Goku hasn't figured out how to use Super Saiyan God to its full potential yet. Yeah Beerus pretty much does everything for the lulz.

I think it was to show that even though Samurai Jack is darker now there will still be some light-hearted stuff. It can't be all dreary all the time!

I don't know I think we spent enough time with Caesar to grow attached. He got plenty of development and screen time. Besides, it's not the length of time spent with a character, but how it is spent.

HxH hasn't had bad luck? It barely even got licensed, dubbed, and on the block. Took forever for that to happen, and it sure as hell wasn't a guarantee. Many thought it would never air.

Demarco's spotty hit-or-miss musical tastes struck again and he selected a horribifuckus song for the send-off video. Should have just used a song from the show. So that was pretty lame. I highly doubt Tokyo Ghoul is a "great show." Easy solution there. Get rid of Hiatus and Shittuden.

Probably not, now that I think about it. Though it wouldn't make sense to punish other shows for One Piece's failure, either, so I don't know.

Supposedly some info is gained from cable boxes as well and not just Nielsen ratings or so I have heard. And DVR viewings help too. You are right though that they couldn't have expected too much for where it aired. But maybe the ratings were too bad for even that slot? We can argue that other networks air encores, rerun timefillers, or infomercials, but Adult Swim is a late night network, so maybe a slot like that is more important to them. I mean, Adult Swim actually airs lesser shows and reruns during prime time because they can't compete and then ramp up with their big shows later on.

It seemed like they were allowing One Piece to air as long as it could but eventually the ratings just got too bad for them to continue to let it slide. I'm sure any other network would have yanked One Piece much faster.

I'm just glad they added Ghost in the Shell, because I don't know if I could deal with Naruto closing the block. It's already enough of a buzzkill and momentum derailment as it is.
