I would agree if we were a nation capable of dealing with more than one thing at a time. When the focus is on mental health it’s used as a means to say “guns are not the problem, mental health is the issue” and that inevitably steers focus away from the fact that yeah sure, mental health is definitely an issue but it’s also an issue how easily they can obtain guns. There are two or more problems happening and none really get dealt with. It can’t hurt to know why or what but it won’t help the next person from getting a firearm. Additionally, there aren’t always warnings when this happens.
