Drug testing for a job. Yay. Shouldn't be any problems with passing it so I guess I'm as good as hired. Hooray. Training starts on the 20th. No benefits other than health insurance and no paid vacation because I'm classified as "part-time temporary" but pay is good and it's for the state. They said there should be some full-time permanent positions opening up in July and they look to the part-time temporary people to fill those first so if I do my job well I'll have that as an option.

It is for that field of work. Tutoring jobs tend to have better hourly pay because it's usually only a few hours a week. Didn't realize it was only 25 hours a week. That annual amount is about what I'd expect.

"Non-profit" and "pays well" don't typically go together. I could maybe see you making that amount if you were a real teacher with a license, but you said it's for a teaching assistant.

The fuck kind of teaching assistant job pays that much that you make "twice as much" of anything. Unless you're making below minimum wage or have really short hours at the liquor store. Also if you have a teaching assistant job right now shouldn't you be like, working? Not shitposting all day?

In my state one of the questions they ask for unemployment is if you're mentally capable of working and you have to say yes in order to be eligible. You're clearly insane and need to be hospitalized before you kill someone so I'd say no. Maybe SSI though if you go get a diagnosis.

Hopefully. It would be a pretty sweet gig. First shift, Monday-Friday, vacation and benefits and all that. Plus I have experience in the field. And they said I can do my progress notes from home/a coffee shop if we want to. My last job only let us do that during the week the RNC was in town and it was great.

I think it went well. They said I should hear back within a few days if they decide to hire me. It would be pretty much the same job I did before which I'm not sure if I want to do but maybe a new environment and new bosses will help. During the interview they asked what one of my weaknesses was and I said that I don't always know what to say in response to things a client says. One of the hiring managers said something to the effect of, "That's not that bad". My last supervisor basically said that knowing what to say was part of my job when I told him that I sometimes struggled with what to say. Also if I understood the one lady I interviewed with correctly, their pay range is much higher than what I was making before. Like, I'd be making ~$1000 more a month at the low end of the range, and with my experience I'd probably be a bit above the low end.

I feel like most of the "adult" cartoons on NewGrounds back then were mainly watched by 12-year-olds despite the mature ratings.
