That's the issue. They never spend much time investigating people's actual motives. They're great at making assumptions based on profiles and not getting to know people so maybe they could get to know what to do with them that will actually be constructive. The criminal justice system is total sham. They have a pretty dispicable "when in doubt, throw it out" policy. You can't call a place a "correctional facility" when they're explicitly designed to turn people into worse criminals when they're released than when they went in. If we want to correct these types of behavior we definitely don't want to take a mixed bag of fucked off people, people who could have gotten better otherwise and a few decent people and toss them in an isolated environment together, they will enable each other's toxic behavior, learn eachother's toxic strategies and make each other worse over time. The guards see this as entertainment. If you shrug about it and go "that's just how it is" I will bitch slap you through the internet because this shit makes your life worse as much as everyone else's.
