'hey arnold' was actually kind of brilliant. i also enjoyed a short lived series 'as told by ginger' that was very clever. now....'ahhhh monsters!' that was so wonderfully weird. but if you don't absolutely swoon for 'angry beavers', well.....piss off.

we used to go to 'alpine slide' at magic mountain/vt. talk about a death wish. i've gotten burned SO many times, rubbing on the tubes. but we got so 'good' that we'd bring gloves, prop our foot on the 'stick' and just basically luge down cement tubes.

i am so sorry, i am laughing...literally out loud right now. i am picturing your pixie arse, going mach 5 down a water tube, and lifeguards, kind of looking around like...'what was that?

we had a little kickball thing for the kids this summer. the adults got to play, since there weren't enough kids. i didn't want to play. BUT, i decided to, so the boy wouldn't feel...iono... of course he didn't, but i'm a mom we think...weird things sometimes. ANYWAY....i wind up... i take the kick, i can easily get to 2nd.... except, somehow, i turned my left leg, before the right, or visa-versa, at the same time thinking 'i should have REALLY stretched' then BAM, i went down, like a tree. i pulled my hamstring. a couple days later, i still was having trouble walking, but i never looked, because it was an inside pain. mid yells 'JFC wtf is wrong with back of your leg?" my entire upper left leg was one giant bruise. from the butt cheek down to the knee and covering the entire back of the leg. and for weeks, i could see the bruising breaking up, and traveling down toward the foot.

very similar. just don't forget the baking soda in the boil. and you can see where i didn't pinch the dough quite enough, and the sizes are a bit off. but, not a bad first try. and i'm going to make pretzels next week.

just like a bagel. i know if i had the mead syrup, they would taste JUST like the one in douglaston NY. i mean, i really surprised myself. i used brown sugar, in the dough, and honey for the boil.

i made bagels. first attempt not bad at all. the plain should have been baked seperately, however, they taste amazing. they'd be even better if i could find malt syrup. anyway, they may sell, they may not, but for a first attempt at something i thought was a secret of only the jewish deli down the road in douglaston...i'm pretty happy with the results.
