  1. Like I said, the room rental was sixty five per week, which was all a minimum wage guy could afford back then. You know who always lost out during layoffs? People who got paid minimum wage and rented places that cost three quarters of their take home pay.

  6. They sell beaters, now. Five year battery and you can knock the Hell out of it for fifteen years before it finally quits. Better than using any of your decent watches in some tasks.

  10. You're partially right. I didn't have any of that "luxury" until I was twenty three. Every job I had before that was some shitty minimum wage type deal. But, instead of wasting any money, I saved up three grand for emergencies such as layoffs, plant closures or anything else that could wreck an income. Health issues? I'm not any of those compulsive hypochondriacs who run crying to a doctor for every little sniffle or sneeze. But, just to be on a safer side, I started picking jobs that included medical insurance.

  14. He's not a random stranger. I've been his steady customer for more than fifteen years.
  15. Any store that carries cigarettes at all, regardless of what else, is required to display that signage. I was only there to get a watch fixed.
  16. So, you're saying it's a tobacco store that sells high end jewelry? And, how is he recognizable with all that stuff on his face? His eyes are shown here.
