https://variety.com/2018/digital/news/funimation-ends-crunchyroll-anime-licensing-deal-sony-1202984211/ Funimation will end its partnership with Crunchyroll effective this month, and will also opt out of their VRV service, because SONY bought Funimation a year ago and didn't want to compete with telecommunications rival AT&T, which owns Crunchyroll. A lot of Funimation subs and dubs will migrate over to FunimationNOW soon, while other shows, dubs and subs, will remain with Crunchyroll. I hope this doesn't mean Funimation shows will be harder for Toonami to get from now on, given how AT&T is basically William Street's boss.

The only reason I shell for Crystal is because it's newer, and we all know the Toonami crew likes to shill for the newest shows they can get. But yeah, that one reason isn't enough to justify how the original show is better, even with the new dub. Now as an adult I appreciate just how good the designs in the old show were. They were expressive, simple, appealing, personable, and just lovely. The revamped designs in Crystal are complicated, rigid, difficult to get on model, and frequently replaced with robotic CGI.
