wut? Nakamura actually beat Cena for the title shot at Summerlsam? not sure I need to see Nakamura Vs Jinder Mahal in my lifetime. But still, it's a bit of an odd turn of events.

well, that is one thing the Targaryens and the Lannisters have in common. They both like to keep it in the family.

you should be able to reset your own passwords now. If that's all you want.

The Toonami Ratings Thread 1.0 :You are on a new board
Admin replied to StarPanda's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
all of cable is on a similar downward trend. there are a few outliers here and there. Toonami is actually kind of a success story even to some extent. But I doubt cable will rebound in any significant way. So, odds are, we'll see gradually declining numbers for cable across all networks. Among that pack, AS and Toonami both are toward the top. So that's good news. The bad news I think is I just don't see Lazzo as having the ability to cope with the change. He's a cable programming genius. He seems a little slow on the uptake with streaming. I mean, clearly, he likes that ability to channel viewers to a specific time/place, and talk to them. Bingeing and streaming I just don't think is in his wheelhouse. Or - put it this way, I think he's a cable programming genius, but he's not capable of that same level of genius through a streaming/bingeing type format. So I think Toonami and AS will hold on potentially longer than anybody else. And I think they have their shit together more than just about anybody else in terms of cable broadcasting. Just less sure they have their shit together for the next big changes to how people receive entertainment, which is actually well underway now. -
and why didn't you get a innovator/banker like your sister?

you guys always take the ratings data out of context. food for thought aye? -
and also a Targaryen. Jon Snow is the son of Dany's brother Rhaeghar. and you know, looking back on Season 1, it really does shed light on why Ned was so keen on Robert giving up his blood hunt for all the Targaryen heirs. He was raising one of them himself, passing him off as his own bastard son. Also, as the three-eyed raven, Bran has not only theoretically seen into his siblings' pasts, but also their futures. If he's seeing everything at once, he knows when they'll die as well as all the things that happened to them while he was away. That must make conversations with people weird.

Mix has mostly been doing the sports banners lately, see what he thinks.

Innovation has virtually nothing to do with wisdom though. One is about adhering to realistic principles to navigate, the other is about saying "fuck navigation, ima go innovate bitches".

While I have mixed feelings about the possibility of being shot by a child, and also about ever watching Saturday Night Live, she may be a fit. She doesn't work for SNL anymore, since her suspension for tweeting words of comedy outside of writing room, and also the shooting spree she appeared to advocate seems to be isolated to Trump Tower, and I never go there.

I looked all over hell for this clip and finally found it sort of. you have to go 2 minutes in to get to it though.

round 1 part 5 Fate/Apocrypha episode 1 Vs Hina Logi episode 1 Fate/Apocrypha opens with some spectacle. followed by tons of exposition. But the animation and art are good enough to hold attention. I like the character designs too. The plot seems a bit unnecessarily convoluted for what is basically a "red vs black" scenario. But out of that convolution there are some kind of neat-seeming things that rise up. Ultimately it all worked for me. If this were to lose for some reason, I would keep watching it anyway. It's pretty solid. Lots of characters and decent action. Hina Logi is colorful and screechy. Kind of annoying, but also cute in spots. If you're into this kinda thing, I'd think you'd like this one. But I am not. So - eh. It was okay, but just not my thing. Fate/Apocrypha advances hands down this round.

you know what just occurred to me, something that's basically brand new and has a creative pedigree that would interest AS and particularly Lazzo would be Children Of Ether.
-
I would say that's probably part of the draw to getting it.

Outlaw Star was one of their big ratings successes on the original April Fools stunt that re-launched Toonami as an adult swim block. And it was one of the shows they sought out for that block. The situation as I understand it, that one-time block was largely run on donated episodes (in exchange for advertising the DVDs). Licensing an entire run of a show is different. My understanding is that Outlaw Star is one of those properties that was bizarrely expensive for its age. Or at least was in the early stages of the AS block. But also I'm sure, like a handful of other shows, if it became available and wasn't a budget-buster, they'd snap it up in a second. It fits all the Toonami criteria. It's a fan-favorite. The programmers like it. It's a frequently requested show. They actually didn't get to air all the episodes as they existed, and since standards have change a great deal, there's probably a little unfinished business there, and also a promotional thing "for the first time the entire series" type thing. So, - first of all, no I don't think it's probably Outlaw Star. But also I think Outlaw Star is a show they would jump at the chance to run. so who knows.

Sci Fi and Encore never had anime libraries. They licensed just like Toonami does. Anime Network I'm not sure. But I'm guessing such an enterprise must have been partnered with a specific distributor or distributors, as in, shared a parent company or something. Also Toonami is still a thing. Anime on the other networks you mention is no more. my point? you have personal taste. Awesome for you. But don't try to run a network with it. it'd probably end up in the same graveyard as those you cite as "successes". we live in the internet age, there's nothing to stop you from finding the things you want to watch and watching those. So, Toonami is Toonami and you know where to find it if you want that. If you don't - there's a bzillion streaming sites out there with all kinds of anime and other stuff 24/7.
