  1. North Carolina is a swing state. Its demographic shifts are just behind Georgia in terms of going from red to blue. Obama won it once, and in 2020 Nate Silver incorrectly predicted it would vote for Biden. It's quite a decision for Republicans to choose as their candidate for governor the "want to take away women's right to vote" guy.
  2. Both side-ism = I'm trying to sound reasonable to the person I am addressing so they and others accept BS like all the felonies/keeping nuclear weapons secrets at a country club as normal. I give MD points for attempting to be insidious but it was a lazy attempt.
  3. No wait. I want to see what rationalizing 91 felony counts looks like. Please continue, @Master-Debater131
  4. Independents certainly do see the guy indicted in the January 6 riot at the Capitol as a threat to the country. If they don't, they're dumb independents.
  5. Regarding the filibuster: McConnell is one of the biggest defenders of the filibuster. With him gone, it's only a matter of time before it ends. In fact, a Republican Senate could be the one to end it. Ted Cruz and Tommy Tubervile (however his name is spelled) would definitely end the filibuster to pass an abortion ban. So, Democrats shouldn't hesitate in doing it themselves.
  6. Goldfish-brain Twitter: Trump is going to beat Biden in the popular vote! Reality: Trump is going to be on criminal trial in three weeks.
  7. Really great for democracy. Unless you actually like non-controversial things like foreign aid being held up for BS, performative reasons. Get rid of that abuse of power coming from idiots with names like Rand and Lindsey.
  8. Sinema's not running again. I'm not even going to look for a news link about. Because good riddance.
  9. There's a reason the job approval rating of the U.S. Supreme Court has dropped in the last 20 years. It's clear they are NOT an example of justice. I don't think John Roberts wanted his legacy to be "deference given to the powerful and those to whom we politically agree" but that's what historians will call his court. Thomas, Alito and Roberts aren't going to live forever, so there will eventually be a chance to swing the court back to equal justice. I would also seriously consider expanding the court, placing term limits on the justices and adjusting their annual salaries accordingly.
  10. Haley will win DC GOP primary, CNN projects By Gregory Krieg, CNN 2 minute read Updated 9:02 PM EST, Sun March 3, 2024 https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/03/politics/nikki-haley-dc-primary/index.html DC had a closed primary so only registered Republicans could vote in it.
  11. It's unclear whether Sen. Sinema is going to running for reelection in AZ-Sen.
  12. The last I heard, the U.S. is promoting a weeks-long ceasefire they hope will turn permanent.
  13. I would work to get a Democratic trifecta: presidency, House and Senate and then end the filibuster so that democracy actually works again. That way we can simply ignore the Trump party like we all should be doing.
  14. Yeah, I regretted that last post after hitting send. It was my instinct to hate on professional videomakers. I saw a thumbnail with the word "genocide" on it and just had to mock it.
  15. I bet he wonders why his videos aren't more popular.
  16. What idiots. I look forward to the GOP being in the minority which they've earned after November.
  17. In the 2012 Michigan Democratic primary, then-President Obama got 89% of the vote and "uncommitted" got 11%. It will be useful to compare it to Biden in tonight's Michigan Democratic primary.
  18. Long ago I decided I was going to try to make enough money where I don't have to think about the cost when I buy restaurant food. I reached that goal around 2021-ish.
  19. Biden says he hopes there’ll be a ceasefire in Gaza by next Monday By Alex Marquardt and Donald Judd, CNN 4 minute read Updated 6:05 PM EST, Mon February 26, 2024 R CNN — President Joe Biden said that he hopes there’ll be a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict by “next Monday.” “Well I hope by the beginning of the weekend, I mean, the end of the weekend,” Biden said after being asked when a ceasefire might start during an appearance on Monday at an ice cream shop in New York city with comedian Seth Meyers. “My national security adviser tells me that we’re close. We’re close, it’s not done yet. And my hope is that by next Monday we’ll have a ceasefire,” Biden added. https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/26/politics/hamas-demands-gaza-negotiations/index.html?Date=20240226&Profile=cnnbrk&utm_content=1708991975&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
  20. ... have no idea this is that apartment that appeared for one, 5-second gag in "Stay Tuned".
  21. Nikki Haley's strategy may be to remain an alternative in case the GOP comes to its senses and dumps Trump after he's been convicted of 30+ felonies.
  22. I welcome half of Nikki Haley's voters not voting for Trump in the general election.
