  1. Quiet schedule update - Blue Exorcist has been removed and replaced by the second episode of S2 of MAWS. An odd place to start, which synchronizes it to a 12 episode Rooster Fighter run. Could we see S3 dropping in as its replacement?
  2. Can we not? Smiling Friends is normalizing it being OK to just end a series rather than beat it into the dirt. Plus, before this season dropped he literally admitted to the anthology thing being a bad idea.
  3. So, a couple things with the online schedule. First, it’s showing Ninja Kamui, not Lazarus, as the replacement for Zom. This is reflected on two weeks. Second, Blue Exorcist reruns replace Daima, but all the way back to S1 ep1, which sucks for anyone hoping S5 might drop in this year.
  4. If BE S5 is in the summer pipeline, they might toss on S4 to build up to it. If not, my money is on Mashle. I have a feeling they can’t get another run out of Bleach based on its absence from streaming. Probably a necessary cost cutting measure to get it on the block in the first place.
  5. Fresh schedule is up. As already revealed, Dan Da Dan S2 takes 12:30. And you wanted to watch Lazarus again, right? No? Too bad! Toonami really needs to trim down its rerun section if it’s just gonna be the same handful of junk on loop. Also, Rooster Fighter continues to be listed without a distinction between dub and sub, while Lazarus specifies dub. So I think they might really be airing the same episode twice a night. Now we just need to hear what replaces Daima and the schedule is set till June.
  6. This feels WAY too late in Family Guy’s life cycle to be a thing. There are already so many Stewie centric episode of Family Guy. Plus, do people like Stewie specifically, or do they enjoy the duo of Stewie and Brian? Cause this feels like it misses what makes those episodes popular.
  7. So they are just moving the yearly premier window to late May then? I figured they would let it get back on track with the old fall release. The real surprise here is they are making this announcement now. Normally, this is a reveal that would be saved for after an unfunny, 30 minute long R&M themed April Fools prank. Are they finally letting something else do April Fools? Is a certain group of companions that values the happiness of others going to reveal they aren’t as dead as they had us believe?
  8. Strangely, one scene in this episode actually did this. When the dude with the white hair is explaining the situation to Takemichi, it’s cleanly painted out of his jacket. I’m not sure why they decided to put forward the effort there, but lens flare and hold scenes everywhere else. It’s still dumb censorship, but it also doesn’t pop off the screen and scream it’s an edit either.
  9. We have known this for weeks. But given that its schedule filler that likely won’t be around for long, I’m surprised they are calling any attention to it at all.
  10. Given the rape was a big part of this episode, I probably should have been clearer. The butchered version does all kinds of lazy lens flare shit like this to cover up the manji symbol on the gangs jacket. All the light flares you saw in this section of the show were censorship. It had already been present in the OP, but I was huffing some copium that maybe it would only happen in the OP (since they cut it anyway) and the actual episodes would be spared. Not the case. The series is so much harder to watch this way. Upcoming episodes will have ENTIRE SCENES cut because there is no way to hide the prominence of the manji symbol otherwise.
  11. Right where predicted. Love an on air reveal though. That about sets up the schedule till summer. Couple filler rerun slots to announce but those are of no consequence.
  12. Can’t believe they are actually airing the hardcore censored cut of the show everyone hated. AS was usually good about getting the unbutchered cut of a series they are gonna air.
  13. Which is weird, if it pays that much, you would think it’s in high demand. Yet adding “professional complete and total fuckup 24/7” to my resume has not gotten me any calls.
  14. No shit, that doesn’t make it less funny.
  15. It’s almost perfect, but we need Demarco’s Ninja Kamui character in the audience crying and shitting his pants.
  16. 1. Let Paramount win 2. Both companies collapse under giant debt 3. Both companies get sold off for a bargain price to cover essential expenses 4. Netflix gets them both for pennies on the dollar 5. ??? 6. Profit
  17. That obviously would be part of it, but that alone isn’t really a prank unless the joke is baked into one of the episodes. They premiered the season in the fall, no good reason to hold two episodes nearly 6 months after the fact. Remember, the Brazil episode was supposed to be an April Fools joke but they missed the window for it. So we already know Smiling Friends pranks are on the table.
  18. I was just thinking the same thing. It’s a little earlier than we usually expect, but this feels like it could be the framework of an elaborate prank. The punchline is Smiling Friends is cancelled, but a new show that’s exactly the same with a different title is taking its place, as we saw with Aqua Teen. Or maybe I’m just coping because I want ONE year where the prank isn’t some half baked Rick and Morty thing.
  19. Big respect to them for doing this. It takes a lot to do self reflection and see your show has run its course. Even moreso when dropping it means giving up an established, paying contract. They are choosing when the show ends rather than getting cancelled after AS beats it to death. I agree though about AS, this may not have been their biggest show, but it was becoming one of their cornerstones, and the creators just peaced out after agreeing to at least two more seasons. That’s gonna leave a schedule hole down the road.
  20. Hey look, we got schedule updates on time for once. A DST one where nothing really changes, and the expected Rooster Fighter bookend for the 14th. It doesn’t specify sub though so not sure if it’s that or just a double showing
  21. Quite the contrary, this is a beacon of hope. It looks like this is more of a Space Dandy situation, where AS isn’t paying to work on it, but rather paying to secure the premier. Which would mean this won’t have Demarco’s usual kiss of death on it, and they won’t maintain the rights forever so it’s reruns don’t get beaten to death.
  22. No. Rewind was a massive failure that caused 2 years worth of damage to the Saturday block. They need to keep their anime focus exclusively on Saturday. If they want to drop more money on anime, it should be on newer, relevant titles for Saturday. We have 3 dead rerun slots they could fill in. Checkered Past is fine because it’s free for them to operate.
  23. I wonder what happened? Usually we don’t see this kind of flip flopping anywhere on the schedule. Daima still remains a very short commitment at only 2 weeks at this pace, so many they put it on then till May when they lose it?
  24. It makes more sense to use either Sailor Moon or Naruto right now, because they will lose those on May 31st. Daima can be a filler show after they can’t use those two any more. Also helps that now Daima isn’t being double stripped, where if it would have ran 2x on weekdays, it would pass the Toonami rerun in just 1.5 weeks. Now it can take a couple months of rest before getting added back in June.
