yeah i dont understand having advisors be on an instutition's payrolll, that should be a whole other outside thing, they're obvioualy just gonna tell you sign up for as many classes as you're naive enough to believe you need.
it's kinda mandatory at my uni, they keep bugging you otherwise.
the first one i had i flat out told him i was only interested in writing, literature, and music classes but he insisted i sign up for a ton of other random shit that's not even required for me.
second one was great though, she let me do what i want and even introduced the school's jazz combo teacher/leader to me.
