  1. oh that old school gme review was beautiful. almost brought a nostalgic tear to my eye toonami's my religion.
  2. i didn't expect to have even this much to ay. honestly, this battle lacks all suspense and heart to me. contrary to popular belief, DBZ has never been a simple repetitive cycle of "I'm stronger!" "No, I'm stronger!" "But wait, I'm secretly stronger!" the motivations for this arc seem to be "who's stronger" wich is almost never the case. but at least some of the humor hits its mark
  3. motorboating session. wow. that was unabashed and direct...
  4. one hell of an opening salvo. criminy
  5. right back to Torrington. anyone else getting nostalgic for Gundam 0083?
  6. bruh you ran away with your girlfriend from the battlefield
  7. pathetic, desperate Zeon remnants. haven't they learned yet that each one of their post-war sorties always end in tragedy for hem?
  8. Into the Badlands was so great . cn't wait to see more. Iron Fist is all right so far (three eps in) but their martial arts training and execution should have taken a few lessons fro Into the Badlands
  9. show me a Gundam pilot who doesn't cry openly and I'll show you a Gundam pilot who isn't worth shit.
  10. dang. they foreshadowed cesar's death in the freking opening
  11. how confusing and convoluted! -- JoJo might as well have said
  12. i should have, but did not expect all my favorite old series to be geting blu-ray rereleses. i can't afford to replace them all and don't really feel like i have to....but I'll eventually have to, won't I?
  13. if you don't want it, I'l take it. i loved watching it but nevr finisehd
  14. hopefully, after AoT season 2, IBO season 2, Tokyo Ghoul and DBZKai are done, they'll bring it back to continue the next arc. i wouldn't mind one piece coming off and on the lineup periodically (thugh id prefer they leave it on and remove Naruto)
  15. it is spectaular, though. it has a grace and a gravitas that were pretty rare in its time. we didnt gt a lot of American cartoons with that kind of vibe. plus, Genndy Tartakovsky's action style is fairly unique. you could see it in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars miniseries. he isn't afraid of long, silent pauses and slow pans before explosions of action and a hint of shaky cam before shaky cam became overdone in american cinema (and we still don't often get it in American action cartoons) people could sense that there was something different in Samurai Jack's presentation and they gravitated towards it. These days,it's still prtty unique, but not quite as groundbreaking, but the addition of more adult themes and violence ups the ante on the series' charm. it's one of the few American shows of its time that approached what made kids excited about anime. it didn't talk down to them and presented the struggle against evil in a slightly different context than was usually given to us.
