Only so you can appreciate the seriousness of Speedwagon's situation, since Nazis of the extra-douchebag variety like that may be his captors. -
Trunks Thread 19.1: A New New Frontier

Don't drink the water, Joseph. From the title and what we've seen, I'd guess that the Straw Hats will regain their Shadows promptly, but they'll soon be set upon by Kuma. It would be rough going from one Warlord battle directly into another one when Luffy presumably wouldn't have the chance to refuel with a lot of meat. -
Not exactly great, but I like this one.
-
I've seen the manga promoted for sale before, but it didn't really strike me as something I really wanted to pick up. Mostly I'm responding here to say that the picture of a barbecue meal in your sig looks delicious.

Thanks for braving the video on others' behalf. I've already seen five of those, and I would only call two of those bad. I also intend to see three, maybe four of the others at some point.

Trunks Thread 19.1: A New New Frontier
FoleyisGood149 replied to PokeNirvash's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
There is nothing about that sentence I don't like. There is one name I saw on the MAL page that you're going to love until the show most likely will not live up to it. Poke: I refuse to call Sauce by his actual name until he does something I consider worthy of earning back that consideration. No, killing Orochimaru doesn't count, because it denied us Steve Blum. Neither did killing Itachi count, because it deprived us of Crispin Freeman. DBS - I spoke with someone at work about two weeks ago who has been watching subs of DBS. I wanted to know the chronology for Super, Battle of Gods and Resurrection F, and he said that Super takes several episodes covering the events of those movies. He also laid a lot of other details on me about it at other times, but I don't feel spoiled and don't remember enough about what he said to repeat any of it. Goku driving a tractor was unexpected and funny, but not as funny as Goten making a winding path with the plow. When Goten drove the tractor off the cliff, I wasn't sure who would catch the tractor while flying, him or Goku. Goku clearing trees with an ax and pulling the stumps by hand was completely fitting. Aw, Gohan and Videl are married. That's sweet, and so was she to humor Goten and Trunks when they gave her the gift. Bulma looks to be aging well, but age isn't being quite as kind to Chi Chi. Also, I'm not particularly fond of Videl's new hairstyle. Buu pestering Mr. Satan for food during the press conference was fun, but it seemed longer than necessary. Heh, Chi Chi was blinded by wealth when Goku handed over the reward Mr. Satan (rightly) relinquished to him. I'm going to guess that the Zeni-to-Yen conversion rate is 1:1. I'm not sure whether this Beerus is a cat or a jackal, but that's not important. The important part is that he obliterated half a planet and sentenced those still living on the other side to death in no more than a few weeks (if not days, or even hours) because something which may not have actually been a dessert had a fattier aftertaste than he thought would be appropriate for a dessert. DBZK - When I saw Gohan catch the bullets, it reminded me of Wonder Woman in one of the Justice League shows saying of .45 rounds in the 1800s, "these are the biggest, slowest bullets I've ever seen." Yes, I know that this episode was on the previous Toonami before that JL episode, because this is material I saw on that Toonami, but it still brought that scene to mind. Maybe I wasn't paying as much attention back then, but Videl seems angrier/grumpier in this version than she did in DBZ. Perhaps it's something different about the V.A.'s delivery. I don't think Gohan laughing off the gym teacher's observations will work for very long. JoJo - First and most importantly, HOORAY! SPEEDWAGON IS STILL ALIVE!! I am fearful for him, though, because he was recovered by a Nazi expedition. Since this is outside of Germany, that means the group is likely headed by a member of the SS or the Thule Society (you know, those nozzles who used Envy during Shamballa to try to invade Amestris. In our history, though, Thule members did seek to employ black magic and searched for supernatural weapons to aid the Reich), possibly both. Such thoroughly evil dudes having custody of a wounded Speedwagon doesn't bode well for him. I have the same questions for Joseph regarding the grenades as I had regarding the Thompson: where did he get them and how did he conceal them? I saw no satchel on his person capable of holding all of them. Also, Joseph's "next you'll say..." thing is already wearing thin for me. His secret technique being super-run-away was funny, though. While Joseph ultimately did the right thing in saving the photographer woman from Straitso, Joseph was a jerk in the way he spoke when trying to bluff Straitso. Afterward, it was also mean of him to remind the irate woman of what should've been substantial pain from her extracted tooth. However, that rudeness paled in comparison to his psychopathic use of armaments. The recap of him firing into Straitso did show that the area behind his target, i.e. the interior of the restaurant, had several occupants who were endangered by the gunfire. Then there was his use of fragmentation grenades on Straitso. Even with Straitso's body being between the grenades and the crowd outside (or in rooms with common walls to the restaurant), that many grenades would produce a large volume of shrapnel, and I would expect at least one bystander to be wounded or killed by those devices. Even on the other side of the street, the bystanders would still be in the range of the shrapnel. I'm not sure how Straitso was able to regenerate from the damage the grenades did without feeding on a lot of people, but oh well. At least the explosion took his hamon-eating scarf out of the equation. I'm sure Dio would've liked to have had a handy garment like that when he faced Jonathan. I'm not sure how it would be possible for Straitso, a vampire, to generate hamon to help Joseph kill him. Please explain that, show. The man encased in rock in the Mexican cave being called a Pillar Man makes enough sense, but I get the feeling that he (and others like him?) will be a problem for Joseph. MSG: U - Gundam confuses me sometimes in that there are several alternate universes portrayed in the various shows of the franchise. This is set in the U.C. (Universal Century) continuity, and from what I can tell, that's the same universe as the original MSG, as well as War in the Pocket and Char's Counterattack, and I think there are others as well which I haven't seen any of the series. I know I've been exposed to some of the past developments in this show's universe, but it has been several years, perhaps over a decade, since I've seen any of that material, so I don't remember things very well. I know that Zaku's were the mechs for Zeon. If we're being shown one of those preserved in a museum-type setting, then either it's there as part of a battlefield spoil collection showing recovered artifacts of the enemy or we're being shown a story where Zeon and those sympathetic to them are going to be portrayed positively rather than as an aggressing, breakaway faction. Time will tell. I'm hesitant to trust this girl who is ostensibly an intruder on the station where our apparent M.C., Banagher Links, who I haven't decided whether to call him by his first or last name yet, was. I also am unsure how to feel about that pretty redheaded lady piloting what looked like a Zaku, but I must admire her skill in using those maneuverable cannons remotely to make short work of her opponents. I'm not sure whether that space station explosion was in the distant past, near past or present. Knowing more about the U.C. timeline would probably help. Sure, Banagher would not only happen to look out a window at just the right time to catch a glimpse of the titular mech on a test flight, but he also was looking the right way at another time to spot the intruder girl and then take that construction robot out to save her. Why not? HxH - Wing using nen on the string was an interesting way to keep Gon honest, but Gon is a good kid, and he kept his word without even knowing there'd be a way for Wing to determine if Gon had cheated. Of course Killua would be better at using Ren to see Hisoka's nen threads than Zushi was. I am a little surprised that he got more details right than Gon did. However, the most surprising thing is that recording technology in the HxH universe is capable of capturing visible (to people focusing their Ren in their eyes) nen in footage, but then it doesn't replay the nen as a readily visible image to everyone. That's verging on Time Lord art there, an instant frozen in time. The rookie-preying trio are jerks and scum for taking Zushi, someone who isn't a 200th-Floor competitor, hostage to try to get easy wins out of Gon and Killua. At least Gon and Killua were smart enough to talk to each other about what happened. I liked Killua's solution to the problem as well. Him thinking that not killing people is tough made me smile. Here's hoping the guy has the sense to forfeit against Gon next episode as well. Shippuden - I'm cool with a history lesson from Tobi/Madara. The story of the warring states and the ninja clans they employed was informative. I'm not sure I entirely believe him about his brother offering his eyes so Madara could better protect and lead the Uchihas, but eh. I think he might've also been stretching the truth when talking about the Uchihas being put in charge of Konoha's police force as a means of isolating them and keeping an eye on them. Still, I do think that he was telling the truth in that Hiruzen would've been the only one in Konoha's leadership to stand up for the Uchihas, because he was a good man and would've sought to do right by those citizens of Konoha. However, *spoilers* OP - I've already expressed my doubts about Moria keeping his body intact after taking in so many Shadows. I'll readily accept Luffy surviving the expansion of his Hulk mode and returning to normal, because he's a Rubber Man. Stretching, bouncing and reverting to his original shape are the nature of his powers. That's fine. Moria has no such inherent power, or at least not one which was stated by the show up to this point. I previously addressed that it looked like his body even had an existing structural integrity weakness. When Luffy started hitting Moria and Shadows emerged, it made sense that they could escape, but once they were out of his body and free of his grip or the grip of his Shadow, then they should've made beelines back to their original bodies. We saw it happen with Brook's Shadow. That's a precedent. It doesn't make sense that Moria could control those Shadows, turning them into bats like he did with his own Shadow, after they exited and broke all contact with his body and Shadow. The extent of control we've seen Moria have over others' Shadows has been manipulating ones with which he had contact and the general obedience which the Shadows display with time while in a zombie. The only Shadow to have that kind of malleability out of a zombie has been Moria's, but when we apply the principle of Shadow Revolution as a way for Moria to hold his non-rubber body together, then he can't send his Shadow out to surround and trap Luffy without exploding. I will admit that I can see one possible way for Moria to do what we saw with the Shadow bats; Moria could've put his own Shadow into his body with the others and divided it so that a portion of it remained in contact with each foreign Shadow, and thus if part of his Shadow is still in contact with each of the escaped Shadows, then he could still exert control over them, perhaps even to the point of reshaping them like he can do with his own Shadow. However, dividing it that many times and deliberately attaching each part to a foreign Shadow would take time, and I feel like he wouldn't have had enough time to do that before Luffy attacked. Thus, Moria would need incredible luck for each of the Shadows which escaped to have part of his Shadow attached when it exited him. Plus, once Luffy's strikes started connecting, it would take tremendous concentration for Moria to keep the attachment process going, and I don't think he has that kind of focus. If the attachment idea is correct, then it would explain why the escaped Shadows aren't returning to their original bodies immediately. The tl;dr version? Moria not exploding is still livestock excrement, but it is possible, though highly unlikely, for him to continue controlling Shadows in the way shown in this episode. Once everyone recovers their Shadows, we need Zoro to decapitate Moria so he and his poorly conceived powers don't show up at some point in the future, though again, I doubt Kuma would allow that to happen. Um, Moria? You might want to take it easy with the earth-/ship-shattering strikes. Recall that you do have a Devil Fruit power and are on a ship in the open water. I must respect actual Lola for her courage, determination and loyalty. Part of her head being on fire must've been excruciatingly painful, but she withstood it for minutes before members of her crew tackled her into shade. Since several of the Straw Hats were similarly ignited by the end of the episode, I sure hope I'm wrong about Moria attaching pieces of his Shadow to each of the other Shadows so those Shadows can return to their original bodies early in the next episode. I have a logistical concern regarding the size of Moria's zombie horde. Each Shadow is still mortally bound to its original body. If the person dies, then the Shadow vanishes and the zombie it animates ceases to function. We saw in a flashback featuring Brook that it's very difficult for those who escape Thriller Bark to stay out of sunlight. With that in mind, it's very likely that most of Moria's victims are still on Thriller Bark, but it doesn't strike me as being large enough to sustain that kind of population for extended periods, especially if it's been in the darkened confines of the Florian Triangle for years, which would make agriculture difficult, if not impossible. Yes, there are mature trees with foliage and grassy areas on the ship, but perennial plants like that can, in a warm climate, survive with less light making it through the cloud cover than grain crops would need to sprout and grow to harvesting maturity in a timely fashion. Maybe they feed themselves from fish they catch, but I feel like a more reliable way for Moria to maintain the strength of his zombie army would be to provide rations for his victims still on the ship, since if those people die of malnutrition or illness (which is more likely for someone who is slowly starving to death), then he will lose zombie soldiers that he must replace by getting more Shadows to animate them. Feeding such a large number of people would be quite difficult since Moria's income would be limited by his ship's stationary position, and I can't imagine many people would sell to zombie crews. Maybe Moria is super-lucky, and the W.G. helps him with that by sending supply ships to him. OPM - The obnoxious guy clearly wasn't using his brain. What kind of "weak" hero is capable of creating a door-sized (at least, probably larger) hole in a monster with one punch? Okay, maybe the crowd couldn't see the hole from their vantage point, but they would've been able to see that the substantial falling rain stopped for several seconds in the area behind the monster, meaning there was a shockwave powerful enough to push all that rain out of the way immediately following the punch. I guess I can't blame them for being too focused on the monster to notice that detail. Still, I take exception to the obnoxious guy calling some of the Heroes "average Joes." I feel like the average person would get no more than 25 points on the physical portion of the exam, meaning they would need a score of 45 on the written test to get a minimal passing score, and 90% is higher than a C, or average, grade. I was glad to read in the manga that Puri Puri Prisoner's visit to Lightning Max and Stinger was not canon. I've read all ten volumes of OPM that I have, and I must say two things. First, while lil' Garo had a point, adult Garo did one thing in particular to make me mad. Second, da-yum, Fukubi. -
Soooo... what's this tagging thing about now? Is it a way to try to draw people to threads they otherwise might not see?
-
Finished v. 9 and 10 of OPM and have started on v. 4 of Dimension W. What strikes me about DW is that there was a lot of content from the manga left out of the anime, and I feel like it made the anime harder to follow in that it didn't flow as well. As for the OPM stuff, screw Garo with a syphilitic dick for even touching Mumen Rider. Plus, Bang's name is made so much better when we learn his brother's name.

I'm going to need to slow down the rate at which I eat my Crispy M&Ms during the episodes since there will be another half-hour of DB universe content. But yeah, more fun with manly grunting, yelling and hitting people and/or things. -
I finally got back to reading OPM volumes. Finished the fight with Boros in v. 7, and then it was time for new-to-me material in v. 8. I didn't expect that about King, but Saitama was remarkably cool about it all. Hopefully King will take Saitama's advice. One of the bonus chapters really emphasized how decent Saitama is. He's in good company with Mumen Rider there.

I hadn't noticed that about sigs, CAC. Shelter - Now this is a brief look into a fictional universe about which I would like to know more. We have a girl with a tablet that lets her rearrange the landscape. When we look back and see a little girl put onto some kind of craft designed by her father to let her escape a large object's collision with the Earth, it opens the possibility that the "world" we saw her editing was a holographic projection to simulate the Earth for her during her voyage. What we don't know is whether the rest of the populace evacuated to nearby space, to off-planet colonies, or were hunkering down and hoping for the best. The city being deserted at a time when it would otherwise be bustling with activity indicates to me that people have, at the least, fled thousands of miles away. For the sake of the girl's future, I would hope that she's on her way to an off-world colony in her ship. DBZK - When Mr. Satan said he was the greatest human fighter alive, it made me wonder who between Krillin and Tien would actually be the better fighter. I would lean toward Krillin for toughness, but Tien is better at energy attacks, so I'm not sure who is better. It's strange to see Goku need help from the human Z Fighters. Good riddance, Cell Jrs. I find it strange that Trunks used the word "swallowed" for what Cell did to 18 when absorbing her. Didn't he use his tail thing to take her in, like he did with 17? I wouldn't call that swallowing. If the blast was strong enough to destroy a super-dense lump of rock and metal like King Kai's planet (remember that despite being a mere few hundred yards in diameter, at most, it has ten times Earth's gravity, meaning it must be several magnitudes denser), then it's shenanigans that simple organic matter at the center of the explosion which destroyed the planet wouldn't be incinerated or vaporized. Yes, Vegeta apologizing for anything is out of character. Plus, no way Cell would have the energy to destroy the Solar system. The energy he had came from somewhere, and all those sources were from the Earth. Earth, in turn, gets its energy from the Sun. While the Sun does produce truly massive amounts of energy, the raging nuclear reactions in it are insufficient to overcome the gravitational influence of its mass, meaning it doesn't blast itself apart. So, if the ultimate source of Cell's energy wouldn't be enough to destroy itself, then how could Cell have that much energy at his disposal? The answer, of course, is that Cell doesn't; it's simple villainous braggadocio. It still doesn't make sense that Shenron couldn't revert 17 and 18 to being humans again. It's not asking Shenron to overcome their fighting power. It's restoring human anatomy. If Shenron can rebuild some of Trunks' internal organs, and possibly entire bodies for some of Cell's other victims, then restoring the human anatomy of 17 and 18 shouldn't be different. Some of Piccolo must've rubbed off onto Trunks, since he did about as much dodging as deflecting in his fight against 17 and 18 in his time. Also, Imperfect Cell went out like a punk, and that made me smile. -

Hmmm. This calls for a test. Sample one is this line. Sample two is this line. I see no difference in those. Topical: I didn't watch the JoJo marathon live, but I did dvr it. Poke: Sounds like a good agreement to me. Also, do sigs disappear from edited messages? It looks like the "message edited/last edit" information takes the place of a sig when a message is edited. -
Trunks Thread 19.1: A New New Frontier
FoleyisGood149 replied to PokeNirvash's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I'm cool with it. So, I awoke at 1 A.M. Christmas Eve Day and was awake until a little before midnight that night, so I knew I wouldn't make it through JoJo and thus recorded the episodes and Scavengers. I think I watched those Thursday. Maybe some of them were on Wednesday. Scavengers - Yeah, this seemed like a waste of time to me. Blah, blah, crashed expedition had to learn how to exploit, and I mean that in almost the worst sense of the word, the local lifeforms to survive and do what they wanted to do. While that kind of resourcefulness would be necessary in establishing colonies and settlements on other planets, it was just weird and boring here. JoJo - Iterating from the first time this episode aired, there should've been no bodies for Dio to reanimate for Blueford and Tarukus. Consider the line one of their executioners spoke, that Queen Mary was already "worm food." That would bolster the idea that their bodies would not be embalmed, meaning they would much more readily decay. Depending upon the circumstances of their burials, perhaps only a few bones and teeth would remain, and since, as the story told us in the next episode, zombies don't regenerate, they would be unable to reconstitute their bodies, even if all the elements and molecules were still in their graves (which they wouldn't be. Remember the lesson of the Epiphany Ants). Yeah, Ang and Poke were right. The Baron should've tried using his hamon on the wall a few feet away from the door. Even if hamon alone couldn't get it, Speedwagon and his sledgehammer could've helped while the Baron caught his breath, so to speak. Hamon sure seems a lot like magic if it can fix a broken neck and give the recipient a massive power-up. Oh well. Something Poco's dad should've considered is that it was still daylight, likely with hours until sunset, when non-hypnotized Poco left the house with every intention of being back by dark, but evil schemes and circumstances prevented that. Also, right on, Poco's sister, for rejecting Dio's offer with a slap. Dio toying with Jonathan's right carotid artery still made me cringe. Ew. How did no one in that State Dining Room notice Wang Chen bite and turn that one guy into a zombie? This question especially applies to those at his table. If Dire and Master Tonpetti weren't already dead, they'd absolutely take up the mission of blood vengeance for Speedwagon's (and those other nameless dudes') murder(s). Here's hoping Joseph can use hamon well enough for the task in a little over a week. Straitso needs to be put down like the treacherous dog he is. Plus, I say we should respect Speedwagon for his toughness in death. It looked to me like his skull was split, nearly separating his face from the rest of his head, but he still had the fortitude and presence of mind to try talking Straitso out of going through with his plan. Like Jonathan, Speedwagon was too good for this world. -
Newly in this week, OPM v. 10 and Dimension W v. 4, but I've been stalled in OPM v. 7 for over a week. I just haven't made the effort to read it.

FoleyisGood149 replied to PokeNirvash's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
That might work for the Masks, but I feel like it would only unleash encased-in-stone Dio on the world again. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SAY THAT?!? Now he's doomed. Maybe the show is trying to make some kind of amends to you. BUU: I found the nen uses interesting. I like that it didn't show the audience what Hisoka did with the sticky nen threads until afterward, because it wasn't something which was supposed to be readily discernible unless a character was focusing their nen to see it, which neither Kastro nor Killua were doing. DBZK - It was great to see Trunks defeat the Androids in his time, who were bigger jerks than those in our time, without taking a hit. Bulma aged well. She was still a pretty lady in the future. Wait. I thought Bubbles, Gregory and King Kai were all revived by Shenron. Why do they still have halos, show? Plus, poor King Kai. Goku broke his newly built house with two slaps. I remember that Otherworld tournament. Pikkon was a good opponent for Goku, and the interactions between the Kais were mildly amusing. JoJo - First: Darn, the heroes weren't fast enough. Wang Chen saved Dio's head. Yes, yes, Dio's head shouldn't have been capable of speech, but it was necessary for him to instruct Wang Chen and taunt Jonathan later. The heroes should've known something was up when Dio's head was missing. I liked Speedwagon being the one to smash the Stone Mask. Yaaaay, Erina and Jonathan got married, and evidently got down sometime between their wedding night and leaving on their honeymoon, since Erina was pregnant. At least the Joestar line will continue. I have no idea why Dio's coffin sparkled, but I like that it had the safety feature of an internal latch. That was prudent on his part. The laser eyes still don't make sense to me, but I could tell Jonathan was in serious trouble when the blood spurted repeatedly from his neck wounds. He held on and resisted admirably for someone who couldn't breathe, ensuring the destruction of the ship. He even managed to shield Erina and the slain woman's baby from shrapnel. He also urged his wife to survive not only for her own sake, but for the sake of a helpless infant who had no one but her to save it, and so she did. Erina and Jonathan were good people. It's sad that they didn't get to enjoy a longer life together. I will credit Dio for admiring Jonathan's capability and tenacity, since he was able to defeat Dio. Second: We can't be sure there were no other survivors beyond Erina and the baby from the steamship explosion, but it's unlikely. When we consider that, its entirely possible that Jonathan's son, who married a girl that survived the sinking, married a slightly older girl who might have been raised like a sister to him. They obviously weren't relatives if the girl was the orphaned infant, but it would still be a little weird. Poor Joseph. His father died in WWI, which would've been The War at that time, and his mother died of disease. At least he had a good grandmother in Erina to give him guidance and correction. I wouldn't have expected Speedwagon to prosper in the oil business, but good for him. I suspect that he thought there might be more to the danger of the Stone Mask than the one Mask which turned Dio, and that would explain him funding archaeological expeditions in Mexico. From what we saw, I would say Speedwagon was right, since there were several Stone Masks and a human form in the stone which sure looked a lot like Dio. It's a shame that Straitso was corrupted by the lure of eternal youth, and so he betrayed his fellows and Speedwagon, cutting them down to take a Mask and become a vampire. I'm not sure why Joseph chose to step in on Smokey's behalf against the corrupt and brutal cop, but the "lawmen" sure were rude and crooked, so they got what they had coming to them. However, I'm not sure how the bottle cap striking the second officer's trigger finger like that managed to break his finger without causing it to depress the trigger. I also hope I didn't see what I thought I saw, that the finger was actually severed by the bottle cap. Anyway, Smokey has some mighty big shoes to fill if he's to be to Joseph what Speedwagon was to Jonathan. Plus, good on Joseph for stepping up to the loudmouth racist mafia muscle. Joseph not only showed keen observational skills, but impressive speed as well in grabbing whatever that thing was which he used to block the racist's punch. Seriously, I don't know what in a fancy restaurant would have spikes like that on it. The racist's boss having "business dealings" with Speedwagon sounds right for New York City, and Joseph was right that he was lacking in tact in informing an old lady about the demise of a longtime friend. Joseph was keen to spot the lack of breath from Straitso and fangs. I also would like to know where Joseph acquired that Thompson and where he had been concealing it. There is a strong resemblance between Joseph and Jonathan, but Joseph being a hothead feels like something which will cause him trouble later, and more trouble than needing to help Speedwagon grab a pilot and jump from an aircraft. At least prop planes of that era traveled comparatively low and slow, so the impact wouldn't have been as bad as it would be jumping from a modern jet. HxH - Good eye, Hisoka, spotting that Kastro couldn't replicate your blood on his clothes on his clone. As for Kastro suffering from too narrow a focus of his nen, sure, let's go with that assessment. I'm not sure whether Kastro was only badly wounded or killed, but it didn't look like the cards in his torso penetrated deeply enough to hit anything vital, so I hold out hope that he'll survive. The numerical magic trick was a good distraction. Also, the answer to that formula will always be one. That Hisoka said his number, not answer, was one is something I'm willing to call an error on the part of the dub script writers. Hisoka's sticky nen threads looked like they would be useful. His temporary fix for his severed arms was also impressive, but not as impressive as the ninja nen doctor lady's nen stitching to reattach everything that was severed. Plus, she was cute. I don't know why Hisoka is using his conceal/camouflage trick to pose as a member of the Phantom Troupe, but if he takes assignments, then he might as well be a member. I'm curious as to what will happen at this mandatory meeting in Nork Yew City. I get the impression that using Ren in the eyes to see what an opponent is really doing with their nen is something Wing will eventually teach Gon, and hopefully sooner rather than later, since Gon can already use Zetsu. Shippuden - I do enjoy Tobi's goofy attitude, but seeing his serious side converse with Sauce was better than I expected. Itachi implanting the Mangekyo's Amaterasu in Sauce, setting it to involuntarily activate when he saw Tobi's Sharingan, was neat. I'm guessing Tobi used his intangibility/transportation jutsu to escape the flames, which would be set on his clothes instead of his body, unless they burned through his clothes to his flesh. Where he got another shirt so quickly, I don't know, but that's my guess. Anyway, I hope that was a one-time Amaterasu release, because if not, then we'd better hope Sauce never sees Kakashi use his Sharingan. Naruto, you dummy. That's clearly a Venus Flytrap, not Aloe. Hm, Kakashi saw that Tobi has a Sharingan. Also, Akamaru, Kiba, Naruto, Shino and Yamato made good efforts, but it's tough to fight an enemy who can let attacks pass through them and walk through restraints. OP - Is that a new OP? I wasn't expecting that. I wouldn't consider Moria's emergence from Oars to be timely enough to indicate that he was conscious this whole time since Luffy Hulk smashed him in the face, so my other Shadow Revolution complaint from last episode stands. Okay, show, you proved my point about Oars' body and Shadow Revolution. Thanks for having my back on that, Chopper. Actually, I don't have a problem with Moria using his Shadow to reach out and pull all the placed Shadows to himself. That's him using his Devil Fruit powers to manipulate and move the things over which his powers are to give him power. I'm less inclined to believe that his body, which is ostensibly ordinary flesh, would expand and grow like that. I feel like taking in that many Shadows would make him burst, especially when we consider that it looks like Moria has a series of stitches holding together a split or cut along his midline, from what we saw of his face anyway, (which, judging from the presence of the stitches, had not fully healed), and that would be a prime failure point or line for the physical integrity of his body. If the premise is that he's using Shadow Revolution on himself, then I've already addressed that idea. Hmmm. If Moria has to use Shadow Revolution on himself to hold his body together, then he can no longer separate his Shadow from himself, meaning his switcheroo is unavailable to him. Even if he is huge now, enough Clutch arms combined with a coordinated strike from Franky, Luffy, Sanji and Zoro could break him. If he dies, then all the Shadows should return to their original bodies. Moria just made it easier for the Straw Hats and his other victims to survive the sunrise. They just need to kill him in less than five minutes. I'm not sure how Robin regained consciousness so soon after having her Shadow separated from her, but I'll take it, since it means she was no longer defenseless and could help in the team effort against Oars. I also like when other pirate crews are impressed by how strong and resilient the Straw Hats are. OPM - Lightning Max's jibberish exclamation of surprise is still funny. Noooo, not the sweater! The first time I saw this, I didn't see that Allback Man's hero name was on the back of his jacket. It's much clearer to see it in the manga, so I thought I'd look for it here. The letter coloring didn't stand out from the brown of the jacket very well, but it was there to see once I looked for it. Ang, there was a page from the manga that you would've liked. It was a full-page panel of the hot bikini chick screaming when the Sea Folk arrived, but she did have to share it with a dude with nice abs in the background on the left. -

Dammit. DBZK - Yep, Goku's friends and family will miss him, but he's fine with being dead, because there's lots of training with great masters to do in the afterlife. I forgot that when the Dragonballs revived Cell's victims, that included Bubbles, Gregory and King Kai, but I'm glad it did. Taking the bombs out of 17 and 18 was nice and a good thing for public safety in the case of accidental detonation, but I don't understand how reverting the androids to human form was impossible. Shenron wouldn't have to fight them; he'd be restoring their natural anatomy. Oh well. Alas, Trunks had to go back to his time, but he got a big increase in power while here which will be useful there. It made me smile to see him be pleasantly surprised to learn of Vegeta's furious attempt to avenge him. JoJo - Regarding the heroes not stepping in to stop Poco's dad from smacking him, I can see three rationales for it. First, they didn't think it was their place to chastise a man for how he chose to discipline his child. Second, they thought it would be a waste of a prime moment for Poco to toughen up and/or man-up and stand up to his father. Third, it was a teachable moment for Poco that actions have consequences, sometimes for other people like his sister, and they thought that intervening might diminish the impact of that lesson. As our heroes embarked on the rescue mission, I was glad to see Poco's sister refuse Dio so emphatically. I very much liked Speedwagon's scathing assessment of Dio's supposed sophistication. It may have seemed pointless, but I think Dire's sacrifice helped Jonathan plan his offense. I would take issue that flesh doesn't freeze that quickly, because it's an insufficiently effective conductor of heat, but eh. I liked that Jonathan decided to use a weapon against Dio, and it worked to maim him. As for the near-bifurcation and the blade of the sword being in a fire, I'm not sure whether it was a sound battle tactic or luck, but I would like to think that Jonathan knew his target and what was beyond it. In the supposedly finishing attack, it was satisfying to see that Jonathan put so much hamon energy into it that Dio couldn't sap it all away. Dio disintegrating was also satisfying. When he fell from the castle, my thought was "go find the body or what remains of it and expose it to sunlight." This can't be the end of things, because there's too much show left for the bad guy to truly be dead. Jonathan, I say you shouldn't cry for a guy who was never more than a jerk and a murderous usurper at heart. MSG: IBO - Regarding Kudelia's address to Arbrau, if the Colonies, Mars and Outer Spheres are represented proportionally in Parliament, then pick better representatives to advocate for you. If not, then yes, she has a point regarding policy disparity. I still don't understand why Makanai needed to be there to deliver his remarks. Why not do a video conference? Oh well, Makanai won, so maybe those not on Earth will get a fair shake in the future. McGillis was fully slimy. He did all this to get the power he needs to effect change in Gjallarhorn, but lots of people died in his plan for reform, including rank and file soldiers for Gjallarhorn, members of Tekkadan, and two of his friends since childhood, one even by his own hand. To me, he sounded extra creepy when talking about how Almiria would have a good life. Ein, we get it. Michael McConnohie Lt. Zent was a great mentor, but look what's become of you in your quest for vengeance. I'm not certain whether Ein's immersion cockpit is what a proper Alaya Vinjana is like or it's solely for his life support systems. Mikazuki pushed himself and the interface too far. He only had one line into his spinal implants, but Ein had three, presumably for better signal flow between himself and his mobile suit. Anyway, Mika, with a pep talk of sorts from Orga, won, but sustained nerve damage. His vision is diminished in one eye, but he may recover from the effects of intraocular bleeding. The real problem is that he can only move his right arm in Barbatos. He may be just as capable in Barbatos, but his combat potential outside it is certainly diminished, and his daily life will be much more difficult. While I'm sure Atra would volunteer for it, he'd need help bathing the left side of his torso. It's also a good thing he didn't know much about writing, since he'll need to re-learn how to do that left-handed. Tekkadan got exposure, and they got a contract with Arbrau. I like that most of the prominent members survived to return to Mars. At least they have a long time on the trip to figure out how to break the news to Cookie and Cracker about their brothers' deaths. HxH - When we consider that Hisoka has a record of 8-3, and the three losses are no-show forfeits that he had to schedule because he reached the time limit between matches, then we can know that he had been at 200th floor for a long time before the Hunter Exam. Kastro is interesting. He's the only opponent to survive Hisoka, and Hisoka gave him his only loss. If I remember OG Naruto correctly, that wouldn't be a Shadow Clone, but a Solid Clone jutsu. I like that even Killua couldn't figure it out right away. It's lame that Gon was forbidden to watch, since Wing said that would count as studying nen during his 2-month prohibition. As for Gon's arm, he clearly heals really quickly. Maybe he's using his nen like hamon to repair his cells, either instinctually or deliberately. In the match, what I want to know is whether Hisoka will he be able to reattach his severed arm with nen. What would really stink for Kastro is if this has all been some illusion magic on Hisoka's part. Shippuden - While not a completely reliable tactic, Sauce using fire attacks to generate a thunderhead for the purpose of directing real lightning with his Lightning Style jutsu was imaginative, and the lightning did look cool. The Susanoo jutsu looked like it has three levels; skeleton, flesh and armor. I'm not sure what Zetsu meant when he said Itachi wasn't at his best the whole time. Was it simply the blurry vision of going blind? Did he have tuberculosis? Did he have some preexisting internal injuries? Anyway, it was an adequate resolution to Orochimaru's fate that Susanoo killed the giant white snake hydra and sealed Orochimaru's chakra with Susanoo's sword. I sure hope the last tiny white snake getting caught and consumed by the Amaterasu flames means we've seen the last of Orochimaru in the present of the show. I feel like we'll eventually be told Itachi's inaudible dying words. I feel like Sauce was lucky Itachi collapsed first, since Sauce didn't have the chakra to maintain his Sharingan anymore for this fight. Heh, even Zetzu thought Orochimaru's regurgitation thing was gross. I would like to know if the Kusanagi blade is still out in the physical world for Sauce to recover and use. OP - Zoro made an opening, and Usopp's shot was accurate. How did Moria's Shadow get inside Oars to pull out the salt bag? The last we saw the Shadowman, it was outside Oars on the ground level where the Straw Hats were. We never saw it enter Oars. This strikes me as more teleportation crap, and I've already made my position on that known. Luffy Hulk was much stronger than ordinary Luffy, and I liked seeing him beat up Moria and, to a lesser extent, Oars. You're a decent lady, actual Lola, for getting the unconscious Robin to safety. Wait, wait, wait. How was Shadow Revolution working after Moria was smashed in the face? It looked like Moria was dazed and unresponsive, if not unconscious, after Luffy Hulk smashed him in the face, but Oars stretched after that. This would mean that either Moria was still conscious and using Shadow Revolution despite his injury, which is difficult to believe unless he proves such in the first few minutes of the next episode, or Shadow Revolution is an area effect, which means Moria should already be dead thanks to Robin. Okay, Oars is down and Moria appears unconscious. Someone kill Moria before he recovers. I don't care whether it's Luffy, Usopp, Nami or some random member of actual Lola's crew. Just someone do it. However, since Kuma was watching, I doubt he'd allow that to happen. Haaaa, Lola's crew thought Brook was rendered a skeleton by damage from the battle. They sure will be surprised when he regains consciousness. Regarding the preview for One Piece Movie Gold, it looked like 1. Chopper was younger, 2. Robin was more buxom, and 3. Nami was prettier (I like the long hair). OPM - Man, were the Tank Top Brothers loud and obnoxious. I still feel like the cyborg which trashed Genos' hometown was one of Metal Knight's drones. Perhaps it went out of control. Perhaps it did exactly what he wanted it to do. Who knows? The manga had an additional threat level lower than Tiger, which was Wolf, and it is defined as "appearance of a life-form or group posing a risk." I would consider that to be like street thugs or gangs, and since those would be common and could be handled by police, many, if not most, Class-C heroes or occasionally ordinary citizens, then I can understand why that threat level wouldn't be announced and would thus be excluded from the show to save a small amount of episode time and production budget. -

Looney Tunes is a universe where any number of characters at any given moment can ignore physiological limitations or the laws of physics. That's a basic premise of that fictional universe. Outside of certain fantastical elements and quirks which pertain to individual characters exclusively (and S.D. humor. Can't forget the S.D. humor) OP is a world which mostly tries to live in the ordinary physical realm. It even applies limits to some of the fantastical elements, such as only one person having a particular Devil Fruit power at once. Then there's almost everything with Moria. It's like this arc isn't even trying to live in the same ordinary physical realm that the rest of the show does. I'm vehemently against Moria's crap because 1. he's a terrible excuse for a Warlord since he's A. physically weak, B. lazy, C. reliant on the strength of slaves, D. at risk of losing his army if his ship ever leaves a specific area of the Grand Line (because when the Shadowless people burn up in sunlight, his zombies lose their animating force) and E. annoying to hear laughing, which he does frequently, 2. his power and how he employs it are shenanigans (fine, he can grab a Shadow, but an ordinary physical object he holds shouldn't be able to do anything to it, and if he's the one with Shadow-Shadow powers, other people shouldn't be able to grab Shadows as well), 3. manipulating a Shadow does not change the nature of flesh and bone (after what Moira did to Oars, he should be a broken and mangled mess, unable to move on his own due to the structural damage done to his body. Even with Shadow Revolution, I'm not sure Moria would be able to keep Oars standing), 4. control of a Shadow doesn't equate to Fast Dodge, let alone Instant Transmission, and 5. in order for Moria's power to work to save his life, the show had to slow something as fast as Clutch down several magnitudes. Recall how slowly the Shadowman phased from being the Shadowman to being Moria. That was a much longer transition than the fraction of a second it would take for Robin to break his neck. Even if he were to focus his power and relocate his neck and spinal column first, then he's still killed himself, because now his brain is cut off from the rest of his body, so he can't send the nerve impulse to that flesh to tell it to phase out with his Shadow-Shadow powers. He would also have cut off the autonomic signals to his heart and lungs, meaning he'd asphyxiate in a matter of minutes... which, thinking about it, would be an acceptable outcome. So, I guess I'm saying that I think Moria and the Shadow-Shadow Fruit's powers were poorly conceived and executed even worse. If I ever start reading OP manga chapters again, I'm inclined to skip Thriller Bark. -

...No. Still more old stuff. DBZK - When we consider that Gohan almost lost due to holding back out of concern for the Earth, he really shouldn't have. Gohan was much shorter than Cell, and thus Gohan would need to fire his Kamehameha on an upward trajectory. That would point it in a general direction away from the planet, and thus he shouldn't have been worried. Still, having Gohan defeat the enemy Goku couldn't was a fine way to pass the torch to the next generation. JoJo - I was a little saddened to see the Baron go, but he went bravely, knowing it would mean his death to save Jonathan and give him the hamon boost he'd need to win. Dire, Straits, and Tonpeti were regrettably too late to help the Baron, but they were good dudes to agree to give aid in Jonathan's fight against Dio and his zombies. So, Dio is now both a vampire and an alchemist, since he made that dog/human chimera thing. He's also a liar. He swore to the woman that none of his servants would harm her child. The moment she turned, she became one of his servants. Thus, his promise was broken when he allowed her, one of his servants, to eat her baby. Dio's like Luci, a bag full of dicks. Unlike Luci, though, Dio's no one's brother, and nobody loves him. At least Poco's sister is alive and well for now. MSG: IBO - Yeah, the stuff Orga and other Iron Flower people were saying as they incurred substantial casualties attempting to enter Edmonton struck me as creepy cult brainwashing mantras. Yeah, yeah, to keep public sentiment on their side, they couldn't be the first ones to take a mobile suit into the city, but once Ein went after the mobile workers which broke through and skirted around the defenses, it was fair game for Mikazuki to go in after Ein. Still, come up with a less reckless strategy, Orga. I don't blame Merribit at all for being unable to stomach watching this battle. Wow, Ein's mobile suit was big. It was strange to see Mikazuki actually be on the slowly losing end of a fight. Also, I hope Azee and Shino are okay, but this is a Gundam show, so we can't be sure either way. What is the big deal with Makenai needing to be at Parliament? That's a pretty shady election process Arbrau (sp?) has going there, that the guy must be present to be a valid candidate, and that's beside the election of the governmental head being by other elected officials instead of the populace, or even the populace selecting electors with the specific duty to vote as their constituents voted. Atra, you're, what, 4'1"? How can you even reach the pedals to drive Kudelia and Makenai to Parliament? HxH - Okay, Gido (peg-leg guy) doesn't need to dodge, since he uses nen to spin himself and deflect attacks. Gon was lucky that his experience in the Hunter Exam prepared him to suppress his nen so the tops wouldn't seek him. He was also lucky that his misread of the tops' trajectory with no ten for defense didn't result in a crippling injury. Cool, Wing agreed to teach Gon, but I feel like Wing was a bit stringent in prohibiting Gon from studying nen for two months. Where's the harm in reading a book or watching a match as long as Gon doesn't try what he reads or copy what he sees in a match? Oh, Kurapika. Were you trying to be like Gon in losing your License quickly? At least the thief gave it back and offered to train you. I just hope the guy is telling the truth and isn't luring Kurapika to his death or trying to steal his eyes. Shippuden - I still don't understand why Itachi didn't take Sauce's eyes while he was in the genjutsu rather than psychologically torturing him by making him think that's what was happening. Amaterasu (sp?) being black flames makes me think of this scene https://youtu.be/erdVrCxrWMo?t=1975, which is so much better. Still, a Fire Style justu which burns until what it hits is consumed sure sounds useful. Just be sure not to hit an ally by mistake. OP - The fuck is this horseshit, show?! Shadow Revolution should not be able to work that way. I'd be willing to grant that Moria moving a Shadow with his Shadow-Shadow powers could force the body to move if we buy into his bit about the body and the Shadow being bound, but not stretching like that. Oars is made of ordinary, non-rubberized flesh and bone. Those have ordinary physical limits. If Moria tried to make that flesh move in the rubberized stretching fashion, it would tear muscles, dislocate joints, tear tendons from their anchor points, and maybe even break bones (especially the Oars Ball). Recall also what Chopper astutely observed, that Oars' right arm wasn't his original one. It was surgically attached post-mortem, and Oars had been in a freezer presumably ever since that procedure. That means there would have been no opportunity for Oars' flesh to heal from that operation, meaning the new arm bonding to his other flesh, other than the time since his awakening, which has been less than a day. Making his arm "stretch" like that could well tear it off his body. Oh, but that's not all. Moria switching with his Shadow is fucking bullshit, too. That's nothing short of teleportation. Control over a Shadow does not mean instantly transporting your physical matter from one location to another without moving through space, and it would've absolutely needed to be instantly, since a slow switch would've left enough of his spine there in Oars' cockpit for it to be broken by Robin's Clutch. But wait, it gets worse, because that ignores that when Robin manifests her arms, hands or other body parts from a surface, they are attached to that surface, not to a set of longitude, latitude and altitude coordinates. When it's on a person in motion, her manifested parts move with them, still sprouted from that portion of their body as they move. We've seen it happen. Thus, Robin's arms, which were attached to Moria, should've still been attached to his relocated flesh, meaning she could still break him with Clutch. There's also a much weaker, but extant, argument to be made that under the principles of the Shadow being bound to the body and Shadow Revolution, then Robin "breaking" the Shadowman's neck should make Moria's body do the same. Sure, it might be that only Moria can apply Shadow Revolution, not that once he's invoked it, it can apply to all unbound Shadows in the area, but if the show is going to throw shovelful after shovelful of livestock excrement at me and call them applications of a Devil Fruit power, I will throw those same shovelfuls right back at it if provided the opportunity. Oh no, Robin is out, and she has no singular obsession to use to rouse her to wakefulness. She's also defenseless against the coming sun on her own. Someone pick her up and get her to safety. OPM - Props to Golden Ball for surviving being drug though the street surface like that. I can't imagine seaweed soup stock would taste good without seasonings. I'm getting too far ahead of the episodes in my reading of OPM manga volumes to remember any differences for this episode. -
Since I last checked in, I've gotten through v. 5 of OPM and am at the point in v. 6 where Saitama and all but two of the Class-S heroes are gathered at the H.A. building in City A. The Sky King and his warriors have been shot from the sky, but we haven't yet been shown by who or what.

FoleyisGood149 replied to PokeNirvash's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
This isn't a twofer. It's just the old stuff. Intruder III - I didn't expect the Sandworms to be helpful, trying to warn SARA and TOM, but scared for themselves and their young. While one of the Sandworms surviving is a nice gesture, it only delays the extinction of the species, unless they can reproduce asexually. Also, they saw how big the Sandworms get. Something that large would need a substantial amount of food and water. Perhaps the Vindication has replicators a la Star Trek to provide for the new addition, but I feel like the little Sandworm will need an actual planet to call home eventually. The Vindication looks like it's a lot larger than the Absolution was. DBZK - Yeah, Goku saved the Earth, but he killed Bubbles, Gregory and King Kai. That's a downside to instant transmission - the user must focus on someone's energy, not a location. Otherwise, Goku could've transported Cell to Phobos and maybe even transported himself back. King Kai was right to chastise Goku for depriving the rest of King Kai's overseen planets of their watchman. Shenanigans, Cell. Goku's Kamehameha obliterated your entire head. If you regenerate from this hard kernel of flesh in you head, then that was gone. Maybe Cell can move it to other locations in his body. Still, I guess Cell lives up to his name, since he can evidently regenerate as long as a single living cell from him survives. I guess the post-whuppin'-and-recovery power-up Saiyans get giving Cell the power to regain his Perfect Form without consuming 18 again is plausible, except for the wrinkle that self-inflicted wounds, such as detonating himself with his own energy, don't bring about the power-up. I liked Vegeta trying to avenge his slain son, but it didn't work. Ah, so that's how Gohan messed up his left arm in this fight. We're almost to material I saw in DBZ on the previous Toonami. JoJo - Jonathan used hamon to purify Blueford and heal his wounded soul. Sure. Why not? It is kind of nice that the unlife Dio gave Blueford gave him the chance to let go of the bitterness he harbored when he died, turn toward forgiveness and find peace. I like that Blueford being a decent guy in life played out as him responding to Jonathan's goodness. I wasn't expecting the Baron and Jonathan to use hamon to make a hang-glider of leaves in order to escape Tarukus, but there it was. The deathmatch training room struck me as being overly complicated. Sure, it would've been within the technical capability of the Britons at the time, but it was unduly vicious and a waste of good warriors in order to determine who were better warriors. Good on Poco for mustering the courage to help by opening the door for the Baron and Speedwagon despite the danger. I see no logical problem with the chain through the ceiling not being sufficiently contiguous to send hamon through it to Tarukus. MSG: IBO - Merribit was right that it's bad for kids, especially the younger ones, to be so focused on getting revenge, even if they're only watching it happen. I'm okay with the idea of Carta and her selected subordinates challenging Tekkadan to a three-on-three duel. Still, I smiled when immediately after Carta stated that she'd give her foes half an hour to prepare, Mikazuki came out attacking immediately. It was smart of one subordinate to try to damage the rails, but Iron Flower had luck on their side in the form of Mikazuki stopping him. Orga, letting Gaelio evac Carta is not what taking no prisoners and leaving no survivors when your enemies come after you looks like. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention earlier in the show, but I get the impression that Carta is sweet on McGillis, and Gaelio is sweet on her. I don't understand why the wounded, maybe dying, Carta thought it was McGillis who came to help her. I guess it was kind of Gaelio to play along, but I don't get how she still thought he was McGillis after hearing Gaelio's voice. So, Ein got the implants and is already in a mobile suit. I'm curious to know how much of him is still his body and how much is life-support machinery. I get the feeling that outside of some implants and functional prosthetic limbs, cyborgs in this show's universe don't resemble the form of a person very much. HxH - Wing's dangerous crash course in nen didn't strike me as that perilous. Okay, he opened Gon and Killua's chakra networks nen nodes, meaning it flowed out uncontrolled. I think it was helpful that they were able to see their and others' energy for learning to focus on containing theirs for ten. Still, I'm curious to know whether they will eventually be able to selectively turn the aura-sight off and on. It would be pretty weird for Gon to go back home to visit his aunt and not be able to look at her without seeing her energy trickle out of her. Good, the boys successfully used ten for defense to get past Hisoka's nen. I'm glad for them that Hisoka determined the usual welcome wasn't needed. I mean, those other hazed guys were perhaps maimed or crippled by it (okay those injuries could've been the results of match injuries, but evidently nen alone could do it). It's a big step up in difficulty that everyone above 200 can use nen. The registration window lady was cute. It sure is nice of the Arena to give the new registrants up to 90 days to prepare for their first fight, so of course Gon would opt for an immediate match. Back to the rules, when a fight is done, a new 90-day counter starts. That seems like a reasonable amount of time to heal and recover, depending on the extent of the injuries. A fighter needs ten wins to advance and face a Floor Master, and if they win, the challenger becomes the new Floor Master. However, if a fighter gets four losses before reaching ten wins, they're disqualified. I would like to know whether that means they are sent down a little or must restart. Yay, Cocco's back. Thanks, show. If nen can be used to impart mechanical energy to things, then sure, the spinning tops could hit like hammers. Regarding Gon's opponent, the peg leg (I think he did have one intact natural leg) struck me as an obvious vulnerability. If Gon could take out the other natural leg, it's unlikely the guy would able to balance on the peg leg and dodge in a fight. Thinking about what they guy said, if he can't predict the pattern, then maybe he's unable to change the trajectory of the tops. I think it'd be worth trying to trick the guy into hitting himself with tops. Still, I'm unsure whether those hits would count for points. Shippuden - Hm, I didn't expect to get a history of Madara and his brother. It strikes me as strange that the Mangekyo will eventually make the user go blind. Other Uchihas trying to get an eternal Mangekyo the way Madara did with his brother says to me that Uchihas as a clan have been nozzles for a long time. Itachi trying to make Sauce strong enough to get the Mangekyo so he (Itachi) can follow Madara's lead sounds a little too mustache-twirling evil to me. I would like to know that if all this was shown in a genjutsu, why did Itachi not steal Sauce's eyes while he was distracted? Also, that's not how eye transplants work. OP - Hi there, Nami. Thanks for showing up to help. It looked like she stole some of Perona's clothes, but I feel like those shouldn't fit her. What fresh bullshit is this? Did Oars actually stretch? That makes no sense to me for two reasons. First, the Gum-Gum fruit caused a physical change to Luffy's cellular structure. How would energy from Luffy do that to Oars? Second, this goes against the idea of only one person, one body, being able to have a singular Devil Fruit power at one time. Even if two people were to cut up a Devil Fruit and make a specific effort to eat it at the same time, there would still likely be some measurable time difference regarding swallowing the first bite or digesting the first molecule of the Fruit. Thus, one would have eaten the fruit first, and thus should be the one to gain the powers of that Fruit. The only way for Oars having Gum-Gum powers to make sense to me is for Luffy to have lost those powers, and we've seen him, sans Shadow, stretch. The idea of Devil Fruit powers belonging to one person was further shat upon by actual Lola the Proposer's crew grabbing Shadows and stuffing them into Luffy. Can ordinary people grab Shadows in this show? Has anyone other than Moria, who has a Devil Fruit power specifically related to Shadows, ever grasped one, either their own or someone else's, prior to this episode? If not, then this is beyond shenanigans. This is a steaming pile of bullshit. Um, no. If Oars body is being moved by the bioelectrical signals of his functioning nervous system, then the physical mechanisms of pain should work with Oars. Moria is wrong there. Also, Moria must be harnessed in well not fall out when Oars was on his hands and knees. I enjoyed the teamwork of the Jenga attack. Plus, thanks, Robin, for catching the falling Nami and pulling Brook clear of an impact area. It's a good thing that Franky is a cyborg. His structural reinforcements might be enough to prevent fatal damage, but there still could have been enough Gs in that collision to cause brain damage or death. Lola the Proposer was fun. 4,444 rejections including Luffy. I think that she wasn't as ugly as Kokoro, but she's still not a looker. Heh, Luffy Hulk went the wrong way. That must be why Sanji and Zoro don't have their Shadows back yet; they were intercepted *coughhorseshitcough* by Lola's crew. OPM - I still love Saitama's "boobs" shirt. I would consider the hit Saitama gave Snek to be a love tap. Genos v. Saitama is still gorgeous to watch. How do people in the H.A. not see how creepy and shady Amai Mask is? -
I don't have anything like that. Maybe if I put everything out it would fill one of those, but not two. Azumanga Daioh! Omnibus Bleach 1-68 Claymore 1-27 Death Note 1-12 and 13: How to Read (which I never finished. It was almost novel-levels of text.) Dimension W 1-3, 4 and 5 on order for when they're released. Genshiken 1-9 Genshiken 2nd Season 1-9 OPM 1-9. Currently on v. 3, 10 on order for when it's released. Soul Eater NOT! 1-5 Spice & Wolf 1-12 Yotsuba& 1-13 I just got Soul Eater 1-10. I'll start on that once I'm caught up with what I have of OPM.

Oh no. It's not just the appearance of Blueford and Tarukus. My contention is that there should've been none of their flesh remaining at all, if any bones were even left. I don't care what kind of restorative hax Dio has; he can't restore what isn't there. I think you may be giving Saitama too much credit. He may not be smart enough to come up with sarcasm like that. Don't get me wrong. I greatly enjoy Saitama and his exploits, but recall that he barely passed the H.A.'s tests, and that was mostly on the merit of his physical performance. He's a great guy, but he's on the dumb side. -
Trunks Thread 19.1: A New New Frontier

It took me a lot longer than it should have, but I eventually got it as well. Also, this is a test. This is only a test: murder. Intruder III - That sounds like bad news, Shogo breaking apart. If SARA and TOM don't have a ship accessible from one of the sealed levels, they'd better hope the base is actually a partially buried ship. The second scenario would even help with the intruding Sandworms, since the ship would be open to space, and SARA and TOM don't need air, so they could let the vacuum take the Sandworms. DBZK - Yep, Gohan sure looked like he had things under control. I don't understand a few things, though. First, why did Cell vomit 18? Wasn't she digested/integrated into his Perfect form? Second, if Gohan was able to counter a maximum power Kamehameha from Perfect Cell, why would Semi-perfect Cell self-detonating, which is what it looks like Cell intends to do, be a problem? His Imperfect form has less energy at its disposal, so the blast should be less powerful. I don't get it. Once Cell reverted to his Semi-perfect form, I thought that should Gohan not think it was worth finishing Cell, then Trunks, Vegeta, or even Piccolo should be able to destroy him. JoJo - Maybe it was a dub thing, but I don't think I would consider where the mining town was to be a valley. It was surrounded by high cliffs rather than being a broad area flanked by hills or mountains on each side. I also don't think that having a tunnel to access the town made sense. In a time when such an effort would be made with steam and muscle power, possibly with the aid of some explosives, people wouldn't bore through a mountain to lay a road if it were at all possible to make the road go around it. This isn't like two spots along I-77 in Virginia (okay, part of one tunnel is also in West Virginia) where in order to maintain Interstate speeds, a straight path was needed. We're dealing with horse and foot traffic here, so a winding road around the mountain would be no problem in regard to speed of travel. Oh well. The trap with the mind-controlled boy was a good one. As for Dio blocking hamon, I'm not sure I buy it. The Baron was able to send hamon into a large rock, something with no flowing blood, with destructive effect. Jonathan was able to send hamon through rocks, which had no flowing blood, to hit Jack. It seems to me that the problems the Baron had were an unexpected medium and targeting. He was unable to send hamon into Dio because Dio changed the nature of the medium through which it would travel, his arm, by expelling heat from his cells (incidentally, I think that would raise the temperature of the area immediately surrounding Dio's arm, since that energy would need to go somewhere, so unless Dio diverted it to the rest of his body, it would go into the air. Thus, if the Baron were to suffer any injury from his hand being in proximity to this heat transfer, it would be a burn, not frostbite, but that would rob Speedwagon of his selfless gesture of being a voluntary Tonton seal for the Baron.). Now that Dio's trick is known, I would think it would be a simple matter to adjust the hamon attack to send the energy through the water ice of Dio's arm and into his chest or head. I saw two problems with Jonathan's battle so far. First, the air trapped under a rock in the lake/river, since we're dealing with a mining town, may not be atmospheric composition. If the air leaked up from fissures exacerbated by the mining, then gasses from the mine, which would include methane, ethane and other combustibles that would be bad to inhale, could be present. It might be breathable, but it probably wouldn't be the same as the air at the water's edge, and thus Jonathan might not be able to generate as much hamon as he would need. However, if the air was simply trapped under debris from the mine that was dumped into the water, then that would probably be the same as the surface air, so there is a way around my first concern. Still, there's no way to skirt the second one; it's b.s. that the slain knights could fight at all. They died in the 1500s. I highly doubt that executed enemies of the Crown would've been shown the respect of being embalmed. Thus, their bodies would not have been preserved, so their flesh would long ago have rotted away, and the bones may even be gone as well, depending upon the disposition of the corpses and local soil conditions. So, no. Just no. MSG: IBO - Did I miss something? Mikazuki had Carta's mecha underfoot and was poised for a killing strike. How did she escape alive? Yeah, everyone was hit hard by losing Biscuit. I can understand Orga being in a funk, since Biscuit saved his life and, while wounded, continued to proclaim his hope for a better future for all of them until the moment of his death. I liked the way that Mikazuki brought Orga out of his despondency by challenging him and reminding him of the promise about the future to which they would go. It sounded to me like the new M.O. for Tekkadan is that they won't seek combat if it's avoidable, but they will take no prisoners and leave no survivors if attacked. I feel like this is something that Mikazuki would endorse 1,000%. Thanks for the history lesson, show. The Alaya Vinyana (sp?) system was developed by those who would later form Gjallarhorn for the purpose of ending the Calamity War. That present Gjallarhorn holds people with those implants in contempt says that their leadership now and starting at some point in the past are/were slimy jerkwads, spitting on the memory of their predecessors. Kudelia was plotting like a seasoned professional in planning their route to Edmonton. HxH - Old HxH: Hi there, new OP animation and new ED. Okay, Heaven's Arena breaks its levels into clusters of ten. If a person loses, they drop ten levels, and I think they probably would need to climb back one level at a time until regaining level where the loss happened. Cocco is a cute announcer woman. More of her, please, show. Hi, Zushi and Wing. Zushi, you seem like a nice kid, but a little overeager. Wing seems shady to me. I must question the Zoldyck parenting philosophy. Killua was left here at age six and told to reach the 200th floor before returning home. In other words, they abandoned their child in an environment where he would be forced to fight grown men and women to survive. His only means of providing for himself would be fighting and winning. He would starve or die of exposure if he didn't fight and win. Granted, Killua was probably already trained in a martial discipline and how to kill with it at that age, but he would have, in most of his fights, distinct disadvantages in reach and neuromuscular coordination. Sure, this would've given Killua experience against people desperate to win, which could easily translate to overcoming assassination targets desperate to survive, but they still abandoned him to be abused by strangers. Killua gave Gon a good hint when he mentioned the Testing Gate and pushing hard, and it sure looked like it worked for Gon, since he was able to win all his matches with one strike. Things also looked good for Killua, except against Zushi. Zushi's stubborn refusal to lose made Killua have to win by points rather than one knockout chop. It was strange that Zushi kept getting up from strikes that should've rendered him unconscious, but it was stranger still that he summoned a fighting aura like Illumi's. The payouts seemed meager to start, but it would be appropriate that theoretically more challenging fights would pay more. It's a nice perk that at level 100 and above a room is provided. Still, I would like to know an exchange rate for the HxH universe and dollars. New HxH: I have no idea how long Gon and Killua have been at Heaven's Arena, but if Kurapika's hair growth in the ED (or was it the new OP?) is an indicator, then it's been several weeks, if not months. Still, with no indication of how long this has been, it feels like the boys reached the 200th floor in very little time. As for the 200th floor, that was scary. I've seen the look that was on that staff lady's face in other things. Either she's simply weary and detached from her humanity after having to witness so much brutality, sadism and death, or she was about to launch a potentially deadly attack as part of a weeding out process before Hisoka's arrival. It's a bummer that there are no more payouts, the fights instead being simply for honor, glory, and the satisfaction of combat. It strikes me as being peculiar, though, since the spectators and betting on the lower levels, where the fighters are paid, probably don't generate as much income for the Arena as the fights above 200 do, since those are likely viewed and bet upon by wealthier clientele. Also, I would like to know if fighters above the 200th floor can accept matches below 200 to earn money to pay for things beyond the essentials that the Arena provides, but I digress. It seems strange that there is a deadline to register for a match when reaching the 200th floor. Consequences for failing to meet the deadline are sensible as a concept, but they seem a bit harsh. Gon having to start again from the first floor seems like it would be more tedious than anything else, but Killua perhaps being barred from competition is a really big thing. I didn't expect Hisoka to be here, but that he is here is completely logical given his stated explanation. I think that Hisoka using his spiritual pressure/haki/nen to intimidate Gon and Killua was selfish. If they can't get past his killing intent, then there are doubtlessly others among the 100+ fighters who would have no compunction about using their nen to kill the boys before Hisoka could get his truly satisfying fight against Gon. Regarding Wing's explanation of nen, I get the impression that it's a kanji v. hiragana wordplay thing, with two ways to write the same word, but each way having different connotations. The first explanation was a hint at the real purpose, and the second, because of Gon and Killua's deadline, was more explicit. It's scary that a skilled nen user can kill an unwary person with nen alone, but that begs the question as to whether Wing held back against Killua or Killua was able to reflexively use some ten due to his training as an assassin. If I understood it correctly, the essence of nen use is to access, contain, generate and deploy the user's energy. Shippuden - Oh boy, someone else (probably Itachi) is about to die, since we got almost a whole episode of flashback with young Sauce and Itachi. Hey, back off, random three Uchiha guys. Wah, Itachi wasn't at your precious Clan meeting because he was out of Konoha on an Anbu mission. Get over it. He's can't refuse an order from the Hokage, and since it would've come from Hiruzen, I feel like we can be more confident that it was a truly necessary mission. One of the guys saying that Itachi was their pipeline to the Leaf sounded mighty suspicious. Plus, was one of the other Uchiha guys also voiced by Crispin? I like the idea that he may have been talking to himself in that scene. Thanks for the reminder that the Mangekyo Sharingan is only attainable after killing ones best friend. Thus, presumably Shisui was Itachi's friend and perhaps role model. When Itachi used the Mangekyo to show young Sauce what he did, it sure sounded like this was about personal power for Itachi. In the present, what a surprise: more genjutsu from Itachi. However, Sauce also used genjutsu, so, good, he's learning. I'm not sure why Sauce would use a non-fatal stab if his self-appointed mission is to avenge the murder of his Clan. Maybe he has the same suspicion that I have - this is more genjutsu from Itachi right now. Of course Madara was the one to discover the Mangekyo. Spoiler: OP - Okay, Hogback including a cockpit inside Oars would explain why that part of his abdomen was covered by what looked like a sail with a print instead of Oars' skin. Sanji was right that Oars having competent direction now is a problem. Kuma being more obedient than the other Warlords is fine, but I feel like Moria was acting too big for his breeches there, speaking so disrespectfully to another Warlord like that. It's not like the W.G. would really have a problem with Kuma smacking Moria around a little. Yes, I feel like Moria is way overrated and that his strength as a Warlord lies not in his own power, but in that of his loyal zombie horde. Still shenanigans, show. How could Luffy successfully tackle Moria's Shadow, but be unable to grab it later? I reject the premise that the Shadows are selectively tangible. Well, let's explore what a Shadow is in this context. The closest idea I reach is that it's like the soul. If we consider the soul to be a vital, animating force, then it is a form of energy. Energy can be condensed into matter. So, it could be scientifically possible. However, there would be enormous fluctuations in the temperature and volume of the Shadow as it went through these transitions, and we got no indication that either of those things happened. Thus, it's highly doubtful that the scientific way for this to happen is at work, and so we're left with magic, which is shenanigans to make what the story wants to happen occur when there's no other logical way for it to be so. Yes, I'm aware that the concept of Devil Fruit and the powers they bestow are fantastic, but this isn't a Devil Fruit user. This is energy from a Devil Fruit user, and I don't think it logically follows that the energy would have the same powers as the altered flesh of the user's body. We even saw that such energy from Luffy didn't transmit his Gum-Gum powers to Oars. It didn't even look like that energy had said powers when struggling in Moria's grasp. Thus, it follows that the energy from Moria would also lack the corresponding Devil Fruit powers. It really feels like a way to make Luffy artificially ineffective against an opponent he could otherwise thrash within minutes of locating him in order to stretch out the story. I'm not sure whether Kuma is simply really fast or can actually teleport himself and others at will, but it feels like the story is hinting at the latter. His repeated question about where people would like to go makes me think that he can transport them to any location he has in mind in an instant. Good work, Brook. Not only did you save Usopp from being smashed, but you brought hundreds of pounds of salt with you as well. OPM - You're a nice guy, Mumen Rider, and you possess a true hero's heart. Shut up and get jobs, ya rotten commies. In the defense of people who didn't know Saitama and his exploits, he does end his battles against malevolent forces quickly, so people fleeing from the danger don't have much opportunity to see him eliminate the threat. I'm puzzled by a difference between the anime and the manga. In the anime, Saitama calls Sonic's smile innocent, but the manga calls it an evil grin. I don't know why they would choose wording with opposite meaning and clashing connotations about Saitama's thought processes. Also, the manga revealed that the rich guy whose grandchild was saved from a monster had a butt-chin, just like the kid Saitama saved from Crablante. It also said the incident happened three years ago. In other words, Saitama's intervention sparked the creation of the H.A.
