yeah I misread parts of the article, still not 100% clear though maybe I never will be, article makes it sound like something you can only understand if you are a Native American
-
I may re-read it, I'm not sure but it sounded to me like they believe the "western" LGBT labels to be made up and their own Two spirit label to be the only one suitable for their community

Goku, Bulma and Vegeta look incredible for their ages
mochi replied to mochi's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
speaking of Gohan and VIdel....how old are they in Super?, because in the Buu Saga they were 16 and Super doesn't appear to be set very long after that -
So what ARE the differences between Goku and Luffy?
mochi replied to moose's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I kinda feel bad for Goku..... I mean, based on that it seems like Vegeta is starting to find Goku's marriage unhealthy when a man who once killed people has a healthy and normal marriage and thinks yours is Creepy something is very wrong -
so, my thought that it's more like being Genderfluid than just gay is correct? either way the end of that article pretty strongly implies they don't like Gay people because they view being Gay to be a "white man's invention".....which is also horribly closed minded basically sounds like they think any LGBT Native who doesn't abandon the Gay label and call themself a Two Spirit somehow doing something selfish of course I could be misinterperting the meaning either way it doesn't matter much since I'm not native american I may reread it because I'm not sure I totally read it right the first time edit: reread it, it's not really the same as what a western person would call an Identiy label at all, it's more like a role or job within some Native American communities, basically it denotes what your job within the tribe is

wait really?...............between what you've said and what I'm seeing on tumblr I'm beginning to find Goku's marriage to Chichi really creepy and toxic if Goku has never even kissed her it legitimately seems like everthing in their "relationship" is one-sided on her side and that Goku actually feels nothing for her -
Goku, Bulma and Vegeta look incredible for their ages
mochi replied to mochi's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
yeah, Chichi and Bulma had smile lines, Mr. Satan was balding, Dende was taller and Krillin had salt & Pepper hair 18, Yamcha, Roshi, Gohan Videl Piccolo and Buu however looked exactly the same age wise (all Toriyama did to 18 was give her a pixie cut) -
So what ARE the differences between Goku and Luffy?
mochi replied to moose's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
fair enough but he makes a strange joke about it later on in Z....in the Buu saga when he temporarily comes back, Krillin says Goku seems like he hasn't aged while he was in otherworld, Goku responds by happily saying "maybe you should try dieing sometime" -
So what ARE the differences between Goku and Luffy?
mochi replied to moose's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
for that matter even as a kid Goku didn't express Grief in a normal way when he accidentally killed his grandpa Gohan he basically just accepted that Gohan was gone and went on with his life, never really questioning how Gohan was killed his way of expressing grief was just to keep Gohan's dragonball and start calling it Grandpa -
So what ARE the differences between Goku and Luffy?
mochi replied to moose's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Luffy isn't a jerk he's an idiot but if Luffy did something to hurt your feelings it's usually because he meant to hurt your feelings and expected it to Luffy may also not really be AS dumb as he seems, it largely seems like some of his stupidity is feigned because he realizes it suits him better to appear incompetent in front of his enemies, basically Luffy is book dumb but street savvy Goku is both book dumb and has no street sense, he doesn't know how to talk to or treat other people, Luffy does in fact, being genuinely nice to people is the whole reason Luffy has a crew in the first place, the Straw hats all joined him because he helped and comforted them in exactly the way they most needed it when they needed it most something Goku has never done (Goku's team basically all joined him because universal forces forced the to work together whether they liked it or not for a greater good, or in Bulma's case, because she wanted to steal Goku's most prized Possession at the time, the 4-star ball) basically the difference is that Luffy is smarter than Goku and that Luffy is capable of empathy while Goku is incapable of feeling compassion towards other people -

Goku, Bulma and Vegeta look incredible for their ages

Mai was in her late 20's or 30's during classic DB, that isn't just inaccurate it implies the writers don't even know anything about the character's history -
This is the 3rd time I've had this happen in a dream
mochi replied to André Toulon's topic in Free-For-All
I've never had that dream........I've dreamt my teeth fell out and I've dreamt I was naked in public but never that my dick fell off you'd think I would have considering I constantly draw guys with unrealistically big junk and your dick falling off in a dream apparently symbolizes inadequacy -
Goku, Bulma and Vegeta look incredible for their ages
mochi posted a topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
when Goku met Bulma he was 12, she was 16 and Vegeta was 19 (apparently Vegeta is canonically 3 years older than her) someone said Goku is 39 in super, which makes Bulma 43 and Vegeta 46 none of them look that old, especially not Bulma and Vegeta also, Piccolo isn't much older than Gohan believe it or not, Namekians just mature faster than humans -
I've never watched it but based on someone's comments about it in one of my threads(and what I've seen on tumblr)it appears to be incredibly tacky and badly written all I know is it has a single Gay character who appears to have no other gay friends, and has one character who constantly says Homophobic and racist things but everyone puts up with him and the viewers appear to like him

Two Spirit is a term used in native American tribes to reffer to people who "see the world with both a man and a woman's perspective" Basically it sounds like it means the same thing as being "Genderfluid" would mean to a non Native person but people constantly equate it to being Gay....which isn't...exactly the same A Gay person doesn't feel that they are a mix of both genders like a Genderfluid person does, they're just a person who is a particular gender, but also happens to be romantically and/or sexually attracted to people of the same gender as they are so I'm curious if there even is a concept of just being a person who's attracted to the same sex as your own, in traditional native culture, or if they just automatically declared you a genderfluid two spirit if you ever displayed a romantic attraction to a same sex person:|

Goku is a weird mix of Superman and Peter Griffin in Japanese, Funimations dub tends to tone down what a huge asshole Goku is to make him seem more like superman, which has the unintended effect of making it look like Piccolo and Vegeta hate him for no reason(granted presently both of them like him at least as a friend but still think he's an asshole) in Japanese (and the dub of Super) he pretty much insults and says awful and childish things to everyone around him and behaves as if he's the one being wronged when they get mad at him also it's Canon that he only cares about his family when they are of some kind of use to him, he loves Chichi but only seems to show affection toward her when he wants something out of her, and ignores his children completely, unless he's training them for an upcoming evil, otherwise he basically tells Piccolo to take care of them for him Vegeta on the other hand genuinely feels a fatherly instinct towards his kids and doesn't like to upset Bulma, because he loves her edit: not to mention that previously acknowlaged scene where Goku tells Vegeta to ditch his family and come train with him and Vegeta responds that he's not going to abandon his very pregnant wife just to train -

Legendary Defender in general shows a great deal more respect for classic Giant Robot series than Voltron force did which makes sense....because LD is more of a remake of Golion than it is Voltron (Golion was the anime the original Voltron's source footage came from and a lot was heavily changed in the Voltron dub, much of which has been reverted to it's Golion versions in LD) I still wish more things had Gay characters....AND I wish writers would stop writing "Bromances" and just write actual brotherly realistic affection I would just like to further clarify why the Keith Shiro scenes were romantic to me Compare how Zoro and Sanji treat eachother in One Piece, they fight sometimes, but other times they're clearly friends, they're buddies, their friendship is portrayed as very close, but stable, and not in any way romantic THEY represent a brotherly friendship what Keith and Shiro had, while more suble...was more like what Naruto and Sasuke appear to have....which is a weird "romantic friendship", their behavior doesn't seem "brotherly" it's uncomfortable, they're way too "tender" with eachother, their tones of voice during one on one conversations are breathy, and gentle, aka Loving, BUT, in a way that people who view each other as siblings would not be maybe I just pick up on it more because I'm gay....but Shiro and Keith's bond in VLD is LITERALLY identical to Uranus and Neptunes bond in Sailor Moon, except they threw in a "we're brothers" disclaimer to deny it -
Cw's Riverdale, aka Twin Peaks but with the Archies

agree'd Veronica Buys Betty a lesbian Bouquet and says it's a symbol of "friendship" Kevin whines because he finds out Moose (a homophobic jock who propsitioned him then lured him out into a dark lake) has a girlfriend, and denies Bisexuality is a thing( he's a Biphobe, something Comic Kevin is not) and tells Veronica she has no idea what it's like to be opressed (even though she's Latina for the purposes of the show) and pisses her off(there's bonus reasons this scene is terrible, I'll explain why in a spoiler) -

mochi replied to blueraven1999's topic in Movies & Television
if they hadn't made Keith and Shiro have long loving stares into eachothers eyes while touching music played then said that long romantic looks were "meant to be brotherly" I wouldn't have dropped it it's like when the 90's dub of Sailor Moon tried to claim Sailor Uranus and Sailor neptune were "cousins" to explain why they were blatantly picking up women and constantly flirting with eachother (as opposed to just editing out the lesbian scenes) -
Oh my god you like TVtropes too
