pretty much the point this arc is stressing

the majority of this arc leading into the actual tournament is them going out of their way to sort of self parody how awful they made Goku in Super by the time the arc actually starts they've kinda shamed Super Goku enough that he's reverted to his Z-self this arc is basically them undoing all the character assasination they did by pointing out how bad they fucked up and returning things to the way they once were
