the concept of Boruto in and of itself is insulting to the intelligence of anyone who watched classic Naruto the show itself might be fine....but everything Boruto represents both in canon and as a series....is just kind of gross, which is the reason for the hate on one hand, it ONLY exists because Studio Pierrot wanted to continue cashing in on their big franchise with a spin off and secondarily, the show relies on us to totally ignore YEARS of gay sexual tension (that they were implying on purpose to appeal to their secondary demographic) and just accept that gay people never existed and never will exist in Ninja-land so it's obnoxious both if you fell for the queerbaiting in classic Naruto, AND disgusting since all it REALLY is is a shameless cashgrab
