  1. Apparently old-ass frog sage is back, performing feats of Titanic proportion:
  2. Until tonight! And Uvo's gonna need a whole six pack to get through this one!
  3. Sorry it took me so long to update! My phone is FUBAR!
  4. Thanks for bearing with me while I got this page updated! My cell phone is having such issues that "8)" was all I was able to do last night! Especially enjoy the special "Roundabout" video we were able to get only through a bizarre twist of fate in which JoJo premiered on Toonami the same year YES were inducted until the Hall of Fame!
  5. EPISODE #15: Waiting In Space OP: "Into The Sky" by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Tielle ED: "bL∞dy f8 -eUC-" by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Aimer Space is the place at 2 AM tonight (4/15/17)! Only Toonami!
  6. EPISODE 25: "THE BIRTH OF A SUPERBEING" AT 12:30 AM TONIGHT (4/11/15) AND... EPISODE 26: "THE ASCENDANT ONE" AT 1 AM TONIGHT!! OP: "Bloody Stream" by Coda ED: "Roundabout" by YES, 2017 Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame Inductees!! https://www.youtube.com/embed/bfhI6nBZOLc Get bizarre with JoJo one last time for now with a whole hour of the exciting finale to the Battle Tendency arc, and get ready for the premiere of Attack on Titan Season 2 next week!
  7. http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/wednesday-final-nationals-cbs-fox-split-prime-time-victory/ Kind of a rough night for the Samurai Jack rerun. Didn't even crack a million overall and dropped 0.07 with adults 18-49. Could it be that the 10 PM Wednesday audience was the most hurt by the abrupt April Fool's Day schedule change? After all, Toonami reruns in mid-week are such a rarity, and when they tuned in last week and got R&M they might have figured it was too good to last. Nonetheless, it has averaged 1023K total viewers and an estimated 619K 18-49. That's pretty impressive for action's limited return to weeknights!
  8. Six or seven isn't necessarily "a lot". At one point they had every episode of Phantom Blood and about half of Battle Tendency. But with JoJo leaving the block after tomorrow, I'm sure Phantom Blood episodes will soon be available once again. Also, back on topic, Dimension W episodes 6-10 are now streaming on the Marathon Stream!
  9. Yeah, I'd say Discotek's best upcoming chance is to claim that 2 AM timeslot Gundam is leaving in June for Lupin III Part 4. Media Blasters has pretty much descended into unairable hentai hell.
  10. Of course I do! That's one thing that makes the dynamic interesting--that there isn't any REAL competition going on here. This would be why I have been careful to include any phrases which imply competiton in quotes, with the possible exception of "control."
  11. http://nerdist.com/gorillaz-are-finally-getting-their-own-tv-show/ Adult Swim was even name-dropped in this article! Perhaps this could eventually air on Toonami, either as reruns of [as] premieres or in the timeslot Jack currently occupies. But even so, I think we're most likely talking 2018. Animation takes a while to produce, after all! In the meantime, perhaps we'll get some animated videos from them that would serve as pseudo-trailers in 2017...
  12. That may be true, but I also don't see it happening anytime soon. Lazzo and Manning have run [as] since 2001 and I don't see them going anywhere. DeMarco might be the "new kid" on the block but I think the only potential change would be him replacing Lazzo, and that would actually be GOOD for Toonami!
  13. No one's mentioned it yet, but there is an interesting dynamic going on between FUNimation and Viz. Last year at this time, FUNimation had over half the lineup (4 out of 7 timeslots, 57%) on lockdown with DBZ Kai, Dimension W, Samurai Champloo, and One Piece, while Viz only had a single timeslot devoted to a long-runner in Naruto: Shippuden. However, beginning a year ago, Viz gradually claimed more slots on the lineup, until 6 months ago, those scales were reversed, as Viz was about to control 4 timeslots out of 7 in most normal weekly lineups with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Hunter x Hunter, Shippuden, and One-Punch Man! Come to think of it, there was even a time on 12/17/16 when Viz controlled 5 of the block's 7 timeslots (2 episodes of JoJo, as well as regularly-scheduled Hunter x Hunter, Naruto: Shippuden, and One-Punch Man!) This was the case all the way through the end of January 2017, when things began to shift back in FUNimation's favor, first by adding Dragon Ball Super but not claiming any Viz timeslots with that, but then Viz lost the ender rerun timeslot to Ghost In The Shell when One-Punch Man's 2nd run ended, which didn't directly benefit FUNimation except now it and Viz controlled the same number of timeslots on the lineup (3). That continued through present-day, since all that happened was FUNimation switched one of its timeslots' shows for another of its own (One Piece for Tokyo Ghoul). Coming up this week, though, after one last time for Viz to control 4 timeslots with another 2-fer of JoJo, it will shrink back down to 2 timeslots devoted to long-runners, and FUNimation will control 4 timeslots with the two Dragon Ball series, Attack on Titan, and Tokyo Ghoul. Also interesting: while in 2016 both companies had timeslots both on the front and back halves of the lineup from a year ago onward, starting the week after next all of FUNimation's timeslots will be in the front half of the lineup (or middle in the case of Tokyo Ghoul) while both of Viz's will be on the back half of the lineup! Making things even more interesting is that with Toonami expanded to 9 timeslots, neither company actually can control over half the lineup with a mere 4 slots--to do that it would take 5, and I only see that happening during holiday marathons. Nonetheless, I think it's safe to say that FUNimation has "won" Toonami in 2017, like in 2014. But of course the difference this time is the block's leader is a Cartoon Network Studios [as] original, but that won't continue for long! The lead show on the block has been a FUNimation show since January 2014 with few exceptions, and this is the longest such exception, but it won't last for much longer.
  14. And 1 Million is the new 1333K! You didn't mention that down 24% in Adults 18-49. Toonami's 12-3:30 averages fared slightly better. Down 26% in total viewers and 20% in adults 18-49. But throw the 11 PM hour this year in and Toonami as a whole was only down 7% in adults 18-49! Not only that, but Toonami was 3% above average for the week in total viewers and 5% above average for the week in adults 18-49!
  15. And it was damn good! Anyone else agree? Edit: it's proper to use italics or underline instead of quotes for movie titles, but that's just not happening with this forum!
  16. How in the hell is that even relevant? Oh right, it came out in July 2014, but do you really believe Viz would have had a dub ready by February 2015? Besides, suuuuuuuuuuuuure they always choose the runner-up. Dragon Ball Super and One-Punch Man are runner-ups to what exactly?
  17. I'd say Lupin III Part 4 still has a shot at that 2 AM timeslot Gundam Unicorn's about to vacate in June. From Discotek's perspective, they'd probably be grateful to get one of their dubs on Toonami in any timeslot and would give them a decent price for it! No clue if it would be a dub premiere by then, but who the hell really cares at 2 AM? Even if it is, it would follow another dub premiere at 1:30 (HxH).
  18. What?? No one's posted the full numbers yet!? I guess I better remedy that... http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/saturday-final-nationals-masters-golf-third-round-dips-second-lowest-rating-60-years/ Sucks for the Masters, but at least Jack kicked ass! But Gundam Unicorn just might be saved from going below 300K 18-34--maybe. With 2 episodes left, will JJBA finish above 900K total viewers? We'll find out next week! Samurai Jack is on track to be the first Toonami show ever to finish over 600K 18-34, in only 6 weeks if it keeps this up!
  19. Gundam IBO S1 did a very respectable 940K compared to Gundam Unicorn, which unfortunately has bombed almost as bad as Hellsing Ultimate, at 721K so far. What can I say? I guess true quality just isn't all that popular! And we already have an idea how every slot did except DB Super at 11:30. Gonna have to wait on Programming Insider for that one...
  20. Watch Demarco & Co. double-up on Gundam instead for 2 weeks by moving AOT S2 to 11 PM in June replacing Samurai Jack and starting IBO S2 at 12:30 concurrent with the last 2 episodes of Unicorn at 2 AM! Question is: what happens then with JoJo: Stardust? There's no way that could start at 2 AM--is there?
  21. Yeah, I sure didn't see that happening! We already know how Hunter, Shippuden, and Ghost did last week: 0.36/715K; 0.26/514K; and 0.27/508K, respectively. It seems One Piece may not have been the problem; but rather 2:30 AM. At this point, we now know the 12-3:30 average, 704K, which is ranked 9th of the 14 weeks so far this year. It is also the first to be below the average (the 8th ranked week was above average). Also... http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/saturday-cable-ratings-april-8-2017/ Jack gets its first feature, but with a scene from Season 5, Episode 1.
  22. Well, this was a weird week, but Samurai Jack FINALLY claimed the top spot among cable originals! http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-4-8-2017.html 4/8/2017 Dragon Ball Super (8 PM) - #24 (-7) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.32 Estimated 18-34 - 217,000 ( 30.82% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.26 Estimated 18-49 - 333,000 ( 47.30% ) Total Viewers - 704,000 4/8/2017 Samurai Jack - #1 (N/A) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.90 Estimated 18-34 - 612,000 ( 45.84% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.66 Estimated 18-49 - 846,000 ( 63.37% ) Total Viewers - 1,335,000 4/8/2017 DBZ Kai: Final Chapters - #2 (N/A) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.62 Estimated 18-34 - 421,000 ( 41.60% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.49 Estimated 18-49 - 628,000 ( 62.06% ) Total Viewers - 1,012,000 4/8/2017 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - #6 (-4) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.52 Estimated 18-34 - 353,000 ( 45.08% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.39 Estimated 18-49 - 500,000 ( 63.86% ) Total Viewers - 783,000 4/8/2017 Tokyo Ghoul - #5 (STEADY) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.53 Estimated 18-34 - 360,000 ( 43.90% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.40 Estimated 18-49 - 513,000 ( 62.56% ) Total Viewers - 820,000 4/8/2017 Gundam Unicorn - #17 (-11) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.39 Estimated 18-34 - 265,000 ( 46.01% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.30 Estimated 18-49 - 385,000 ( 66.84% ) Total Viewers - 576,000 Yep, that's right. Tokyo Ghoul BEAT JoJo! And it's the show taking a break next week. But that's OK, because I'm sure the AOT/Ghoul combination will KILL in the ratings, and might even lift the Dragon Balls before it. Poor hapless Gundam Unicorn might even benefit from that with its final 7 episodes!
  23. Well, the last two episodes of JoJo air on the block this Saturday night, exactly 6 months after the premiere, so of course [as] takes the opportunity to refresh our memories with Episodes 11-20, the mainstay of the Battle Tendency arc, right? Nope, instead we get Dimension W. Granted, I haven't been able to listen to this show while I've had my new phone speaker, and I think last time it streamed was the week of Thanksgiving, so I haven't watched it on my new laptop either, but I was really hoping for JoJo. Guess I'll just have to watch the episodes on my own if I want to do a "refresh" marathon, but they might not even be available all the way through. I'll let anyone wanting to watch 11-12 know if they're streaming on [as] by Wednesday, but I think one reason they don't stream as much is limited bandwidth. It's one reason I wish they would farm out the Toonami shows to Toonami's website, but that might not even deal with the bandwidth issue since it's on the same server. Anyway, I do still have FUNimation NOW, so if I wish I can watch 11-12 there. Hell, this might be the week I try to catch the unaired 13th episode somehow...
  24. They take a bit longer but they do a good job and don't translate any of the on-screen Japanese text, which is hella annoying because JJBA is FULL of on-screen Japanese Text! It's lazy, and it's completely ironic since their main division is manga translation! I'd say the ratings would be higher if people weren't scratching their heads about what the hell it means! Maybe this will actually be fixed for Stardust though?
  25. And yet somehow it's a DOA show actually getting 52 11-minute episodes! I think there's some kind of a "shareability" between CN and [as]; after all, that's how we got Beware The Batman, Sym-Bionic Titan, and Thundercats, as well as I believe old Samurai Jack. In those cases, owned by Turner seems to be owned by Turner. We also know there was a "shareability" between TCM and CN when they acquired the Month of Miyazaki in 2006. I think a lot of it depends on the fate of Tokyo Ghoul, or what Toonami would acquire just to air at 2 AM. If Ghoul is headed to 2 AM after its first season (Not sure what the hell they'd air at 2 AM for 2 weeks after Gundam Unicorn ends but work with me), then JLA might not be a bad candidate, doubled-up, for 2:30 AM, if it can pull a "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", sorta like the first season did with a Midnight rerun back in 2009 on [as]. One thing's for certain, I'd be a HELL of a lot more likely to follow it there, and it would be a free way to get some DC action back on Toonami for the first time since the Bat-Blowout for Beware The Batman in 2014.
