  1. EPISODE 30: A Run-Through For The Competition! Who Are The Last Two Members?
  2. How was it cut last time? Probably not though, since last time it was at 11:30, and this time it'll be at 10 PM!
  3. It's 1.5 years--hell, not even that at this point! And this crap is NOT corroborated on Anime News Network!
  4. WHO'S HERE FOR EPISODE 30??? It's got A LOT of recappy stuff, but at least Krillin impersonating everyone was pretty funny!
  5. I think that's what I like most about Dragon Ball Super--it turns the show structure completely on its head. ShenRon was an omnipotent force in the original, Kai and even earlier in Super, but in this arc, he's dismissed as a "useless lizard" by Beerus!
  6. Update: they ain't gonna try that. It won't be 13 episodes squeezed into 12 30-minute slots after all: https://twitter.com/HeartofSword75/status/1027678731723268096
  7. When did you "just" say that? However, I agree. It should probably be better off kept there. The only time Toonami ever has anything to say even tangentially related is during homilies, which usually still tend to be apolitical. http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-wednesday-cable-originals-network-finals-8-8-2018.html Well, We Bare Bears did pretty good (560K/0.13 18-49) at 7 PM on Cartoon Network. Dragon Ball Super lost a lot of total viewers but tied it in 18-49 an hour later: http://programminginsider.com/wednesday-final-ratings-dr-pimple-popper-on-tlc-is-cables-top-regularly-scheduled-original-telecast-among-adults-18-49-for-third-straight-week/ Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.378 million viewers (#89) • 0.26 HH (#83) • 0.13 A18-49 (#83) • 0.14 A18-34 (#44) • 0.13 A25-54 (#92) American Dad (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.510 million viewers (#71) • 0.34 HH (#72) • 0.23 A18-49 (#35) • 0.26 A18-34 (#16) • 0.23 A25-54 (#51) ...and then it got utterly destroyed by American Dad. Dragon Ball Super Recent Week's Weeknight Ratings Week 6 Ep Viewers HH 18-49 18-34 25-54 8/6 #26 449,000 0.28 0.15 0.18 0.15 8/7 #27 483,000 0.31 0.19 0.21 0.18 8/8 #28 378,000 0.26 0.13 0.14 0.13 The day before DBS actually got over 100K more viewers, so maybe Frieza actually DID make a difference!
  8. Wow, nice! Hope it does well! As for the idea that it would feature NO commercials, well that's just not true. But fewer commercials and bizarre runtimes, yep. All of those episodes combined have a runtime of about 22x13=286 minutes. The time period is 30x12=360 minutes, which still leaves almost an hour and a quarter total for commercials.
  9. I think he's probably saving it for the show that airs on the first Saturday in November in 2020. Or when the Orange One decides to slap a 50% tariff on anime exports because he obsessively enjoys American Dad--that would probably do it. (Note: the latter scenario is highly unlikely.)
  10. Nope, turned out to be sometime Wednesday. That "new" show is none other than FLCL Progressive! Unbelivably, even IT can't break the stream's strict 5-episodes-at-a-time code, since only the first 5 episodes are streaming--NOT the 6th and final episode!
  11. Cool! This thread finally got a "HOT!" designation! How appropriate! Next time, tomorrow night (ignore the Next Saturday part):
  12. You mean of the ED? That was the English version. I'm willing to bet MHA will also get this treatment for Season 2 now that it's soon to be at 10 PM, but we'll see...
  13. Did the original Toonami run have these English EDs? Some of them feel like they're new! Well, that's it for tonight! Until tomorrow night, TRAIN HARD! NICE! MHA Topical!
  14. Too bad I don't think Dragon Ball Super ever had a beach episode. But there MIGHT be one coming up. That would have been a good excuse to get them out of those stuffy robes! And Vados DOES appear to be pretty well-endowed, so it would be interesting.
  15. This is where that little bit of exposition in episode 25 was going.
  16. This is what happens when 2 destroyers fight--all HELL BREAKS LOOSE!
  17. This actually sets up the tournament a lot right here.
  18. We had a Venture Bros. topical during the week. There has been a striking dearth of Toonami promos this week. Ah, Champa and his Dodo Eggs...7th universe food doesn't agree with 6th universers...except maybe Goku! And this "my universe's food is better than your universe's food contest" is just plain silly, but 7th Uni wins hands down!
  19. Best line of the first half... Also, Champa's "negative calories" comment was amusing.
  20. Join me at the discussion thread?
  21. SHOWTIME, ON HUMP DAY! Let's start the new story arc, but first, a look back at the end of the Frieza Resurrection Saga! EPISODE 28: "The 6th Universe's Destroyer! His Name Is Champa!"
  22. Oh no, did that "Techmeds" user from the shithole that was the 2016 ASMB somehow follow us here!?! Tuesday's weeknight ratings are in, and though DBS couldn't beat American Dad, it still did pretty damn good: http://programminginsider.com/tuesday-final-ratings-castaways-debut-delivers-abcs-best-summer-tuesday-10-p-m-figures-in-two-years/ Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.483 million viewers (#76) • 0.31 HH (#76) • 0.19 A18-49 (#55) • 0.21 A18-34 (#24) • 0.18 A25-54 (#70) American Dad (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.502 million viewers (#75) • 0.32 HH (#75) • 0.21 A18-49 (#50) • 0.22 A18-34 (#22) • 0.20 A25-54 (#62) It's still early, only 2 days in, but it's looking like Week 6 might just be DBS's best week yet: Dragon Ball Super M-F Weekly Avgs Wk P2+ HH 18-49 18-34 25-54 #1 453,800 0.283 0.150 0.173 0.143 #2 456,000 0.288 0.174 0.216 0.148 #3 438,800 0.264 0.152 0.184 0.132 #4 421,200 0.258 0.150 0.186 0.134 #5 415,800 0.272 0.158 0.178 0.146 #6 466,000 0.295 0.170 0.195 0.165 I'd say a lot of its success compared to Week 5 can be attributed to its lead-in. I don't know what it was for the first 5 weeks, but now it's We Bare Bears, and that seems to be working better. Either that, or people actually got into the twist at the end of the Frieza's Resurrection Saga...nope, gotta be the #Bearstack.
  23. Dude, what is your problem!? It ain't "cherry-picking" when it is exactly years ago to the day! I'm more baffled by this than anything. But it DOES indicate that the most important factor is share and not necessarily raw numbers. So how did Monday's DBS episode do? http://programminginsider.com/monday-final-ratings-better-call-saul-on-amc-returns-on-par-from-prior-season-among-total-viewers/ Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.449 million viewers (#78) • 0.28 HH (#78) • 0.15 A18-49 (#76) • 0.18 A18-34 (#36) • 0.15 A25-54 (#85) American Dad (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.403 million viewers (#82) • 0.25 HH (#82) • 0.15 A18-49 (#76) • 0.17 A18-34 (#40) • 0.15 A25-54 (#85) Best Monday number since Week 2, and yes, it either beat or tied all of its follow up American Dad's numbers!
  24. Episode 27: The Earth Explodes! A Decisive Kamehameha!! This is the thrilling end of the Frieza arc, but of course it pales in comparison to the movies! And though Vegeta had the upper hand, the do-over stole his victory!
