  1. This isn't really "news". We've known about Hulu's deal with Viz for Sailor Moon for a while. The thing is, wasn't My Hero Academia ALSO in a contract with Hulu? And where is that now?? But yeah, DeMarco isn't gonna let Klaxosaurs anywhere near Toonami, and we can all be thankful for that!
  2. That's complete crap--there's no reason why whatever ends up there can't be moved down if it's still going. Also, Megalobox COULD be coming December 1st. There are instances where a show has been announced for a given month but ends up premiering a bit earlier in the past. See, for examples, SAO and Blue Exorcist.
  3. Part of me is kinda curious at whether or not DBZ Kai grew on Road Chip in 18-49 and other key demos, since Road Chip was apparently a rerun. These movies have obviously failed to provide a decent lead-in to Toonami, so now it's Regular Show Halloween's turn...
  4. With Attack on Titan going on mid-season hiatus, I'd say there's actually a pretty decent chance this will hit Toonami in December, even if it's not a dub premiere!
  5. PI got their grid up EARLY this week! https://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-tbs-leads-cable-prime-time-with-astros-red-sox-game-1-of-american-league-championship-series/ But since Unevenedge no longer lets it be embedded via copy/paste for some reason, here is my version: 10/13/18 - Total Viewers Show Viewers Retention DBZ Kai 420,000 MHA 424,000 100.95% Shippuden 434,000 102.36% Boruto 426,000 98.16% DBS 608,000 142.72% FLCL3 426,000 70.07% AOTS3 429,000 100.70% JoJo4 364,000 84.85% B. That's gonna produce some really WRETCHED retention percentages, but ironically it might make AOT's final stretch before the mid-season finale look better! And I never thought I'd see the day where a 199K in 18-49 was formatted in yellow, but here we are. Only change next week is Jack gets doubled-up, which is a dead giveaway to me that they don't plan on rerunning Pop Team Epic in the back end...maybe. I guess it could still replace One-Punch Man, though I'm thinking now that will probably be AOT.
  6. Hey, the 2nd week of the lineup in which Toonami leads off Adult Swim actually did quite a bit better than the first! http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-10-13-2018.html DBS back over 600K, and all 5 eligible shows made the Top 50 (though just barely in JoJo's case), right before we cut down to 4 eligible shows next week...
  7. I think these Live+3 numbers might be new... Dragon Ball Z Kai (repeat) (Adult Swim, 9:00 PM, 30 min.) • Updated Live+SD: 0.519 million viewers, 0.17 adults 18-49 rating • Live+3: 0.562 million viewers, 0.18 adults 18-49 rating • Gains: +0.043 million viewers (+8%) +0.01 adults 18-49 rating (+6%) My Hero Academia (repeat) (Adult Swim, 9:30 PM, 30 min.) • Updated Live+SD: 0.415 million viewers, 0.14 adults 18-49 rating • Live+3: 0.520 million viewers, 0.19 adults 18-49 rating • Gains: +0.105 million viewers (+25%) +0.05 adults 18-49 rating (+34%) Naruto: Shippuden (repeat) (Adult Swim, 10:00 PM, 30 min.) • Updated Live+SD: 0.364 million viewers, 0.15 adults 18-49 • Live+3: 0.417 million viewers, 0.18 adults 18-49 • Gains: +0.053 million viewers (+15%) +0.03 adults 18-49 (+16%) Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (Adult Swim, 10:30 PM, 30 min.) • Updated Live+SD: 0.393 million viewers, 0.17 adults 18-49 rating • Live+3: 0.445 million viewers, 0.20 adults 18-49 rating • Gains: +0.052 million viewers (+13%) +0.03 adults 18-49 rating (+16%) Read more at: https://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-yankees-red-sox-game-two-on-tbs-delivers-most-watched-saturday-night-mlb-division-series-in-ten-years/ MHA is actually gaining much better in Live+3 at 9:30 PM than it did at 10 PM! I think it averaged around 13% when it was at 10, but now, 25% and 34% in 18-49!
  8. Well folks, if you were getting tired of Gundam Unicorn, they FINALLY changed it. It's Black Clover now, though I don't know which episodes. Sometime during the third cour. Edit: looks like it's Pages 31-35. That's good, especially if they advance to 36-40 over the weekend, but to be fair, it's not clear that they can. We did just have Page 42 last week, so maybe? Another edit: It ended at Page 34, so maybe what they're doing is playing the last 10 episodes of the previous arc? I have not yet confirmed that they are playing Page 30, however. The end of the last arc was Page 39, so if there is a Friday night advance, it would cover it. Last edit, I swear... Pages 30-34 confirmed. Great choice, since 29 is a recap episode, and 30 is the official beginning of the show's 3rd major story arc. And since this arc lasts exactly 10 episodes, a move to 35-39 this weekend seems academic. Hmmm, a choice for the Stream that is actually somewhat inspired for once! Edit: NO ADVANCE on Friday night--we're stuck with 30-34 for the weekend.
  9. Good point. Maybe FLCL Alternative has a full 2nd run on Toonami, like FLCL Progressive did; it just stays at 11:30 for NOW. Though why they're not moving Black Clover there is a mystery to me...
  10. Well, there ya go. Mystery solved--Cowboy Bebop doesn't return, and we get double Jack. Everything else stays put, and FLCL Alternative restarts. But hmmm, exciting new show, and it's not Megalobox, since that's already been announced, so maybe SSSS.Gridman?? It wouldn't be a dub premiere, but it would be exciting!
  11. In light of the fact that AOT is essentially in "lame duck" status now, I think they'll actually roll this out on December 1st, together with another show. I'm personally, specifically hoping for SSSS.Gridman, as it would effectively bring back the mecha sub-genre from the dark abyss that it's been in since April (no, I don't count AOT as mecha). Here's how the rest of the year goes then in the 11:30-12:30 timeslots: 10/20: FLCLA #1/AOT #46 10/27: FLCLA #2/AOT #47 11/3: FLCLA #3/AOT #48 11/10: FLCLA #4/AOT #49 11/17: Double-Shot of FLCLA (#5 & #6) 11/24: Thanksgiving Marathon 12/1: Megalobox/SSSS.Gridman(?) #1 Alternatively, we may see FLCLA move back to 1:30 starting this weekend, and if that's the case, then Megalobox replaces AOT instead on 11/17. They might even forego the Halloween marathon in order to roll it out on 11/10, or perhaps something ELSE new on 11/10 (C'mon, SSSS.Gridman!!!) If THAT'S the case, Megalobox stays at 12/8 as announced...or does it? Also interesting is the fact that One-Punch Man ends in 4 episodes, whatever the hell that means. That means Toonami needs a new rerun in 4 episodes, whatever the hell that means. That could mean either 11/17, 12/1, or even 12/8 depending upon how they schedule things, as another X-Factor is the longer block on November 3rd in which a few shows might be pre-empted for a movie or some other sort of special.
  12. Breaking: it has just been confirmed that it WILL be after all. The 2nd half arrives April 2019. Now, Toonami, please pick up SSSS.Gridman or maybe Banana Fish to fill in the void!
  13. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/dragon-ball-super/episode-83/.113953 Rating: "B". I say that's pretty generous, as this episode was full of just plain ridiculousness.
  14. I'm resurrecting this--here are my TOP 15!! 15. Gundam Unicorn (Streaming) 14. Dragon Ball Super 13. Boruto 12. Samurai Jack 11. Black Clover 10. DBZ Kai 9. Hunter x Hunter 8. Naruto Shippuden 7. One-Punch Man 6. FLCL Alternative 5. Lupin The 3rd 4. Cowboy Bebobp 3. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure DIU 2. My Hero Academia 1. Attack on Titan
  15. If that's really true, is it really that bad? It's the next best thing to Gintama if so! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/black-clover/episode-42/.134736 Rating: "B". Yeah, I agree. It WAS full of the usual hijinks!
  16. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/jojo-bizarre-adventure-diamond-is-unbreakable/episode-8/.102335 Rating: "B+". I'd say that's a little too critical; this episode's 2nd half especially made me laugh my butt off!
  17. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/attack-on-titan/episode-45/.136556 Rating: "B"?? That seems REALLY low to me for what I believe was the best show of the night!
  18. Now we have the Aptly name Episode III, well, because it's the 3rd episode. In it, Jack gets used to using his new moniker and battles a few weird robots!
  19. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/boruto-naruto-next-generations/episode-3/.115030 Rating: "B+". Quite fitting for such a comedy-heavy episode with a decent shuriken fight!
  20. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/my-hero-academia/episode-22/.116683 Rating: "A". Of course it is!
  21. He got cut pretty good there...
