Thought it might be a good idea to make a thread of all the shows in which at least one full season has gotten a rerun on Toonami, or will rerun on Toonami, and it IS a pretty exclusive club! Deadman Wonderland Cowboy Bebop Ghost In The Shell FMA Brotherhood IGPX Sym-Bionic Titan FLCL Attack on Titan (All 2.5 seasons) Kill la Kill Parasyte -the maxim- One-Punch Man Samurai Jack (Season 5) FLCL Progressive My Hero Academia (Season 1) FLCL Alternative Lupin the 3rd Part 4 Pop Team Epic I was pleasantly surprised at the time to be able to add Lupin, PTE, and Gundam to this list. Never thought when they were premiering that Toonami would dare to rerun them. Another shocker at the time was that Akame ga KILL!! was snubbed over Parasyte, though Parasyte IS the better show! Let me know if I've missed anything! EDIT: Unfortunately, I have had to remove Gundam IBO Season 2 from this list, because it was discontinued on February 9th, making it officially the first rerun that hasn't been allowed to reach its season ending in 4 years.

You want Off-Topic? I got yer off-topic: FOOTBAWL! Alabama and the Citadel TIED with 10 a piece in the first half!!

What's its competition? I think if Madagascar starts off the night well, it will do fine. Granted, half of America will probably be watching competing College Football games (including myself) in the early stages, but later at night more will be watching. Besides, the MHA marathon way back on 9/1 actually did better later in the night. That's the effect of marathons--they start off lower but don't seem to fall as far.

Sadly, they're probably losing the rights to Unicorn in a few weeks. I doubt they got any of the Gundams on more than a 2-year deal, and that's why we're seeing IBO Season 2 instead of Unicorn. Still, DAMN will Toonami have some SERIOUS variety in its 10 shows that are neither Dragonball or Narutoverse this winter! Those give martial arts power craziness and ninjas, but as for everything else? Superheroes? Check. Supernatural? Check. Sports? Check. Stands? Check. Wizardry? Check. Espionage? Check. Titans? Check. Really stupid comedy? Check. Gundams? Check. And last, but certainly not least, a wandering Samurai? BIG CHECK! Also, it's kind of interesting that once upon a time Lupin replaced Gundam Unicorn, and now Gundam IBO replaces Lupin! Lastly, I predict we'll get the regular lineup on December 22nd, but there will be a marathon of both of the new FLCL seasons on December 29th!

Hey, I'm just telling you what Google Translate says! I guess this is "the Manga thread" then??

FLCL was out of here as of Monday night, and DBZ Kai The Final Chapters' next-to-last 5 episodes took its place. I'll be SHOCKED if they don't advance to the last 5 tonight! -
Wasn't really meant to be racist; as obviously the word "black" has connotations in Americanized English that its translation "kuro" does not in Japanese. You wouldn't describe a Negroid child as a "Kuro Ko." "Kuro" simply means the color black. A Black person IS sometimes refered to as "kuroi" though. Or perhaps even "niguro".
-
And your new screen name means "Black Child". Make of that what you will.

No, FLCL Alternative's 2nd run also ends on December 1st. I mention that AOT episodes will probably air on Toonami those days but I don't mention WHAT TIME! I think the leading theory right now is for #38 and #39 to re-air at Midnight, while the show moves down to 2 AM for the rest of the 3rd full encore of Season 3--but I don't see any real need to do that. After the marathon, AOT should take a break until after Lupin the 3rd ends and then replace it at 3 AM, while something new like MegaloBox or hell even Goblin Slayer takes the midnight slot, or 11:30 and moves Mob to Midnight. I leave those dates in red because Toonami just might pull a rabbit out of their hat and either bring out MBox early or acquire something else to put in AOT's place. Oddly enough, the last show they brought out early WAS AOT Season 2. It had been previously announced for April 29, 2017, but since they decided to give Tokyo Ghoul a break on April 15th, they were able to premiere it on April 22nd instead.

This is a No Nut November-er's worst nightmare...BOIOIOIOIOIOIOIONG!!!

So what you're saying is Goblin Slayer is essentially in the same position this year that Black Clover was in last year? Interesting...

New page repost. Remember, up next is Madagascar leading-in to Toonami. Could provide pretty big ratings for the marathon, if DBZ Kai doesn't dissipate them.
-
Yes, you can see the dubs of Goblin Slayer and SSSS.Gridman on FUNimation NOW, but would subscribers to both VRV and cable want to drop VRV and pick up FUNi NOW to continue to follow those series overwhelmingly to the point that Toonami shouldn't even mess with them? That's the question that must be asked right now. Still hoping Toonami pulls a rabbit out of their hat and doesn't rerun AOT S3 Episode 1 (#38) at Midnight on November 24th, but picks up one of these hot new series.
-
The thing about Goblin Slayer is: I haven't seen it, but I can't deny its popularity in thinking acquiring it would probably be an asset for Toonami, especially if it goes beyond the currently-planned 12 episodes. But if this rape issue is an issue, how bad is it? Are we talking SAO-level or are we talking Griffith x Charlotte in Berserk The Movie II? The former would of course be fine for Toonami, while the latter, most likely too disturbing, which would be a shame because Toonami needs to cash in on the popularity of a series like Goblin Slayer right now, especially since VRV subscribers just lost access to the dub after, what, 3 episodes came out?

Also, the 18-34 average for the first half of the block was 0.231, or roughly 157.4K, which is actually the 2nd highest 9 PM-12:30 AM average we've seen.

Actually, NOT THIS TIME... http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-11-10-2018.html "Adult Swim’s line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.31 and 0.18/515K compared to last week’s 0.24/0.11, MY HERO ACADEMIA up 0.08 to 0.20/502K, NARUTO up 0.07 to 0.21, BORUTO up 0.05 to 0.20, MOB PSYCHO 100 up 0.05 to 0.19/443K, ATTACK ON TITAN up 0.05 to 0,18, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE up 0.02 to 0.15, BLACK CLOVER steady at 0.13/309K, HUNTER X HUNTER down 0.04 to 0.11/272K, FLCL down 0.04 to 0.11, POP TEAM EPIC at 0.11/245K, LUPIN THE 3RD at 0.10/215K, and SAMURAI JACK at 0.09/206K." Note that we STILL don't know how well Naruto Shippuden and FLCL did for some crazy reason, but we DO know that the 2nd half didn't perform nearly as well as the first, which is usually expected. That's a low low for Jack but it's not the worst it's done; that would be the ill-fated double Jack back on 10/20. However, how in the WORLD did the 9 PM hour break 500K and average 0.19 18-49!? Were people actually *gasp* watching Road Chip!? It DID seem to provide a decent lead-in the first time back on October 13th too! I guess people love chipmunks!? More CGI animal magnetism to come to lead-in to Toonami next week with the 2005 classic Madagascar, so we should see a similar situation, right?
-
No clue--Programming Insider is being really slow to update this week! Or maybe--we just got spoiled because they were unusually speedy the last 3 weeks or so?

Numbers improved MARKEDLY this week--have we finally turned a corner? However, poor JoJo still can't manage to get back on the Top 50...read more below. http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-11-10-2018.html

https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/my-hero-academia/episode-26/.117961 Rating: "B-" (Community score 4.2). Yeah, this was a transition episode, and it shows. Even so, it was not a BAD episode, with plenty of comic relief! -
