  1. I actually believe one of these 3: they may be giving up 10:30 to Final Space reruns, and MHA may be falling back to Midnight they have something really big for Midnight they just can't announce yet or Gundam's 3 AM announcement will be retconned and it will actually either premiere at Midnight or other shows will be moved up, while TPN reruns begin at 3 AM.
  2. Oh yeah, SURE, rerun the biggest bomb ever in the Midnight timeslot at Midnight (and yes, the 10th episode of that show freaking BOMBED to the tune of a 0.12 in adults 18-34) while throwing the hot new Gundam show to 3 AM. I really believe Gundam: The Origin will be retconned for 3 AM and end up at midnight, while TPN reruns at 3 AM instead, if that's really all they've got. My precedent for that is the JoJo: Stardust Crusaders series premiere promo. When it aired, it announced the show for 12:30, but it ended up airing at midnight. Granted, 3 AM to Midnight is a much bigger jump, but there's no WAY they're airing a new show at 3 AM and leaving a rerun at midnight. Those two would definitely be swapped in any universe.
  3. There have been 3 shows/movies that Toonami has premiered at 3 AM since it came to Adult Swim: Beware The Batman, Hellsing Ultimate, and Children Who Chase Lost Voices. Gundam: The Origin would be the 4th. The two series, BTB and HU, eventually ended up getting a boost to earlier in the lineup (though BTB topped out at 2:30 AM), mostly due to good ratings. I'd be surprised if the same doesn't happen for this Gundam show at some point, like when either SAO (3 episodes left) or AOT (rumored to only have 5 episodes left) end. Just because it's beginning at 3 AM may not mean it STAYS at 3 AM. I could easily see Gundam: The Origin leapfrogging over the Narutoverse hour and maybe even Black Clover to land at 1 AM or 1:30 AM once a timeslot in the top half opens up. This could mean we're getting SAO's replacement 2 weeks earlier at Midnight on July 6th, but of course this is awkward as hell because we don't even know what show that IS! I also believe it's possible that the 3 AM promo gets retconned and replaced with one that mentions it premieres at Midnight or another earlier timeslot (with some shows being moved up). I cite JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders as evidence. At first it was to premiere at 12:30 AM to replace AOT Season 2, but Toonami's entire lineup got shifted forward by 30 minutes so it ended up at Midnight. Now 3 AM to Midnight would be an even bigger retcon but at least it wouldn't be unprecedented!
  4. At Momo-Con, we thought the future of Toonami's schedule was pretty set, at least with regard to the two upcoming known shows, Lupin III Part 5, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable was ending on June 8th, so most of us correctly predicted that Lupin would take its place. But we also assumed that since The Promised Neverland was ending on June 29th, Gundam would take its timeslot on July 6th. But Toonami threw us a curve ball, announcing a rerun episode of Hunter x Hunter for June 29th at 3 AM, and that Gundam would then be taking its place on July 6th. This leaves the occupant of the midnight timeslot on July 6th still unknown only 13 days out, by when we have usually gotten most shows announced. So, what's it going to be? Keep in mind that The Promised Neverland itself was announced only about 2 weeks before it premiered. NOTE of thread history: This thread's title has been changed several times. The original question was "What's Toonami Airing at Midnight on July 6th?", as The Promised Neverland had just ended on June 29th and needed a replacement. The answer turned out to be Sword Art Online: Alicization, as the new shows premiered at 1 AM (Food Wars!) and 3 AM (Gundam: The Origin), while SAO-A moved up from 12:30 to midnight for its final 2 episodes, and Lupin moved up from 1 AM to 12:30 to take its place. Then the title was changed to "What's Toonami Airing at Midnight on July 20th?" The answer turned out to be Attack on Titan, which was getting a double-header (rerun at 11:30, followed by premiere at midnight). After that, the title was changed to "What's Toonami Airing at Midnight on August 10th?" That answer turned out to be "Fire Force," which premiered on July 27th, but it was feared the 3rd episode might be delayed like it was in Japan; that turned out to not be the case (and now it's airing on Toonami only 2 weeks behind Japan and the same-day simuldub)! Midnight was the timeslot of the perceived "hole" in the schedule several times over the summer, but now that Fire Force is holding down Midnight for the foreseeable future, that's no longer the case.
  5. In SAO, it took Kirito & Eugeo 2 episodes to chop down a tree. In HxH, it took Gon 148 episodes just to get there!
  6. It's been a long journey, but here we are, finally at the end of the road. And yeah, I'm gonna need this!
  7. I mean "we" as in "the rest of us."
  8. S-Ranked for "sex determination?" Let me help you out, moron: penguins probably don't have balls...
  9. We'll be doing this every week in July, August, and September for Gundam!
  10. Armadillo nuts?? Can't say I care for those!
  11. I thought there was no way Shippuden could somehow manage to be worse than Boruto this week. I was wrong.
  12. Stop that turtle island? Just shove a giant plastic straw up its nose!
  13. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/boruto-naruto-next-generations/episode-36/.124940 Grade: "A-". Yeah, it was a decent episode, even if I'm not so into this kind of stuff...
  14. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/black-clover/episode-75/.144856 Grade: "C-". Yeah, pretty accurate...
  15. What other network has the balls to premiere something at 3 AM and actually advertise it? So far, outside of schedule bumps, it's been Beware The Batman, Hellsing Ultimate, Children Who Chase Lost Voices, and Gundam: Origin!
  16. This new Gundam show is too good for 3 AM... ...think it will get topicals??
  17. He sliced through space?? Eat your heart out, Okuyasu!
  18. Ok, this is starting to crack me up!
  19. We didn't really hear anything about whether or not this show was continuing last year until like September of last year. I expect the same this year. I like when this show starts using flashbacks, but this tournament arc is LAAAAAAAAAAAAME. It just doesn't seem to bring the 'magic' like MHA...
  20. Yeah, not-Xerx is JYB. Kinda nice to have him back on Toonami!
  21. So THAT's how you pronounce the name of that fish...
  22. Funny; the West Coast is actually watching MHA right now...
  23. That's a pretty good theory. Since Armin is narrating this story in Season 1, his plot armor has to be about Autonomous Ultra Instinct level...
