  1. I may have company tonight so I might not be posting much... But what a way to kick off 2020!
  2. While this DOES look awesome, I kinda doubt there's much chance of that unless it gets repackaged as a TV anime like Gundam Unicorn and Gundam The Origin did. Given that this is Part 1 of a film series, we probably won't see it on Toonami until 2023 at the earliest. Also, this is coming out in July, not in the winter. But I imagine a dubbed version might make a U.S. Theatrical run in late 2020 or early 2021?

  12. Yeah, I started to put MP 100 at #19 and knock Boruto off the list, but I just couldn't, not with only 5 episodes. MHA at least had network premieres all through the year, even if it only had 6 episodes that were "new"...
  13. I dunno--we only got 6 new episodes of Season 4 and saying it should be higher than the likes of 1-6 is a tough argument to make! Also, I just noticed I somehow left Fire Force off the list so that's gonna change...
  14. See if y'all agree... #19: Boruto #18: gen:LOCK #17: Naruto Shippuden #16: Food Wars! #15: Sword Art Online: Alicization #14: Hunter x Hunter #13: Dragon Ball Super #12: One-Punch Man Season 2 #11: Fire Force #10: Black Clover #09: The Promised Neverland #08: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (DiU/GW) #07: My Hero Academia #06: Attack On Titan (Season 3 Part 2) #05: Lupin III Part 5 #04: MegaloBox #03: Gundam The Origin #02: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba #01: Dr. Stone
  15. Considering that they were done with dubbing the first episode of the first season by February 9th, and this would be February 29th, you may be right. But the other low hanging fruit is Fire Force, which is in the timeslot SAOA assumed for most of its run, and that works out perfectly, since it's ending February 1st, so SAOAWOU would fit into that slot exactly a year later on February 8th, and if that's the case, we're getting something...ELSE on February 29th...
  16. Good news everyone: I've decided to expand this to the Top 18 of 2019, but #18-#11 will be hidden behind a spoiler tag: And now for my favorite 10 long-form show promos (>30 seconds) were my favorites in 2019: #10: THE FORGE - Kicking off my list is the promo for this year's Total Immersion Event, The Forge. It did a great job building hype for this seminal event! #9: MY HERO ACADEMIA SEASON 4 - Up next is the promo for the show that would replace Dragon Ball Super! It wasn't much we hadn't seen, but it signaled Toonami was keeping the party going with MHA as its flagship show! #8: FOOD WARS! - Hungry yet? In this perfectly adequate promo, the show successfully shows off its considerable culinary chops! #7: THE PROMISED NEVERLAND - A creepy house. A mysterious caretaker. And oh yeah, there's demons! This promo built hype for this tale of children raised for demon food that is thankfully getting an encore run next year, not to mention a 2nd season! #6: ONE-PUNCH MAN SEASON 2 - Saitama was back, and everyone rejoiced!! This promo did a great job of showing off the second season's decent (though perhaps down a bit from the first season) animation! #5: LUPIN III PART 5 - While not quite as cool as its predecessor for Part 4 in 2017 (which if I'd done a Top 10 for that year almost definitely would have placed in the Top 3), this one still did a great job of introducing the main story arc, with another great indie song as the backdrop! #4: SWORD ART ONLINE: ALICIZATION - This one is somewhat unique in that it mostly covers the one-hour premiere special, while providing only fleeting moments from the rest of the show. While the 1-hour special had its moments of brilliance, it was actually somewhat lackluster compared to this promo, which made it look amazing! Here's hoping for more with War of Underworld in 2020! #3: DR. STONE - While focusing mainly on a character who didn't matter at all, hardly, in last night's marathon, this promo did its job well and made you want to watch the show, setting the stage well for what it's all about! #2: DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA - This show is just dripping with atmosphere, and this promo does it justice! There were actually 2 versions of this one; here I have provided the longer. Absolutely chilling in its snow battles! Behold the beauty that only one other show promo was able to top in my eyes... #1: MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM THE ORIGIN: ADVENT OF THE RED COMET - Topping the list is one that gave me chills from the moment I saw it. It sets the stage for this tour-de-force through the early days of Char Aznable in a way that rivals what Hollywood movies have used to promote their wares! Seriously, if you haven't seen it yet, just check it out and be amazed! Well, there you have it. The 10 Toonami show promos this year that stood above the rest in my eyes. But I think the only ones I snubbed that were over 40 seconds were gen:LOCK and Golden Wind. Let me know what you think of my list by commenting below, and look out for Part 2, best shows of '19, and Part 3, the Decade's best interstitials!!!
  17. I hate that we couldn't get the full version of the 2nd OP of Dr. Stone last night instead of whatever that random 4:3 non-Toonami bullshit [as] shoehorned into the marathon last night was supposed to be!
  18. Yeah, for real! And she was about to be eaten by this Titan, and then...!
  19. Episode #07: "Small Blade" -The Struggle For Trost, Part 3- Boy, Woerman really is a total wuss!
  20. Wasn't really that much of a cliffhanger. I mean, I guess it KINDA was, but the danger wasn't exactly clear and present. It was more of a declaration of resolve before heading into the unknown (see Gurren Lagann episode 23 for another example of this).
  21. I guess we don't know yet. It's quite possible that he's not one of the descendants because he just couldn't cheat on his wife. Then again, he'd presumed she was dead, most likely, so he probably would have seen the green light to bone away!
  22. EPISODE #16: "A Tale For The Ages" Even in preschool, Senku was all about science!
