scoobdog
I'm so happy we could have a record USC QB performance out of someone with a built in catch phrase.
Seight
Pregame: "Florida State has a chance to prove the naysayers wrong with a strong performance against Georgia." Postgame: "It's everywhere," said area resident Phillip Reynolds, who claimed he never knew such cold and unrelenting fear. "The blood is everywhere."

Seight
I forgot where but I saw a great joke the next day: "I can't believe Missouri has to eat a man made of cotton. I have seen one bowl game before."

scoobdog
I’m just going to put this out there… I really don’t get the sadness about the demise of the Pac12. I challenge anyone to recall the last time a Pac12 After Dark nail biter got a headline on ESPN the next day.
Gemini
I didn't know if this was posted yet so here it goes: Nick Saban retires as Alabama Head Coach, per report from ESPN. Just when the CFP's about to expand to 12 teams, too. What a time to hang 'em up.

As someone who is a fan of college football, this feels like a sea change moment and I'm curious to see what happens at Alabama next. As someone who's favorite team had to play Alabama every year because they were in the same division, OH THANK GOD. 1

NIL currently guaranteeing that the roster you know will not exist in 6 months, Saban retiring and Bama possibly just being meh, and.....I'm starting the rumor now Lincoln Riley to Seattle before USC can fire him 1

Butt seriously - Carroll gets "promoted" to advisor and *BAM* all of the sudden Saban is retiring? I don't see Carroll coming back as a head coach in any capacity anywhere, especially in the NCAA, but the presses won't be cold before we see him showing up as a newly minted Assistant Athletic Director. Somewhat, and as USC goes yet another year without making the playoffs (even though they have a metric fuckton of talent) I see Riley trying to jump ship before he gets the axe That way he gets to say he's coached at two prestigious schools, made 3 Heisman winners, and made a bowl every season ....all without every having to explain why he was fired honestly? scoobdog
No, I get the perception. People still think that Lincoln left Oklahoma because he was dodging the shift to the SEC, so it's natural to predict he'll jump to the NFL now that the going has gotten tough. I don't think it's a fair perception - everyone knows he came to USC because they threw a shitload of money at him and he gets to move to NotOklahoma all while escaping the inevitable decline of his Sooner teams. He's only two years into his USC campaign and he has a hot shot new defensive coordinator behind a backup qb that lit up a decent Louisville team - he has plenty of time for a steady decline before he needs to flee the burning ship. I never said he was dodging the SEC shift homie, I didn't agree with the way he left by any means.. that was pretty fucking shitty for the players IMO. I heard it was about a "5 min goodbye" and then he was pretty much on the plane. "NotOklahoma" because "Shithole" really, just... is more of a compliment to it these days to be honest. Bro don't even get me started on the current state of this state, there is not enough internet capacity in the world to formally lodge my complaints Socal is super appealing, but so is that siren call they call the NFL...

He did them dirty for sure. Anyhoo… the NFL isn’t a magical wonderland for coaches, but it’s one hell of an escape hatch. Lincoln isn’t anywhere near the escape stage, especially after two seasons, but things change fast.
