I got done work a bit early today and have been watching some of my favorite 90's action movies

I watched Heat first and am watching Twister right now!

They have both been testing my sound system haha Heat in particular. The sound design is perfect with that one. The gun fights and infamous shoot out scene leave me with goosebumps!

Apparently Micheal Mann did not like the way the originally planned sound effects for the gun fights sounded. For all the firefight scenes they used live blank ammunition and had mics all over the place and so he decided to dub in the actual audio from the sets and it is PERFECT. They even had an ex SAS member train the actors in gun usage and to provide insight. It really shows.

Such an amazing ensemble cast too. And the cinematography is amazing as well, the city of LA feels like a character itself. Score and soundtrack are superb too!

Just one of my all time favorite crime thrillers haha Twister is not quite on the same level but I loved it ever since I saw it in theaters as a kid, with me being obsessed with meteorology and what not!

RIP Tom Sizemore, Bill Paxton and Dustin Seymour Hoffman :( All my fave 90's actors are dying

What should I watch next?! Looking like movie night will continue after this!!

I seriously need to watch Heat again. Just not tonight because it’s long and I’s tired.

You should watch Face/Off or Speed next.

Heat really does go above and beyond. Even though it is an action movie it never feels dumb and has plenty of room for the characters to be poignant and intelligent and complex. I love it.

And yasssss Face Off! I need some Nicholas Cage and John Travolta to continue this marathon tonight!

Between the two I suggested, I would definitely go with Face Off. Another one I really need to watch again.

So I got half way through Face Off before going out to get some food and beers and then coming back to watch the [as] April Fools prank schedule haha I will probably finish it tomorrow.

The Paramount channel has an all day and night marathon of The Lord of the Rings. I watched them for the first time in a while over Christmas and remembered how much I liked those movies despite not being a big fantasy fan. They are just done so well, especially for the time. I cannot believe it has been 2 decades already. damn. I feel even older now.

But I will be watching them all day today. I have just been feeling like going on a binge of all of my favorite movies the last week or two! A lot of them are in the 90's and 00's of course haha

I’m the same way. Sci-Fi and fantasy are usually a no. I do like LOTR (and The Hobbit), though.

Ugh….my new TV is supposed to come in a few days, but it might as well be a few years! I need movies!! Watching everything on this small phone is getting old.

Sorry for my little rant there.

No need to apologize, I would be losing my shit! My TV is always on, even if just in the background.

It has been a while since you told us your TV went kaput, so I am glad to hear it is on its way finally!

Thank you. My TV is always on, too. Except for when I go to bed. And by the way, I lost my shit a LONG time ago. 🤪

Yea I guess I never really had sanity!

I usually fall asleep on the sofa with the tv on in the background, and then wake up at like 5am and turn it off. I just like the ambiance that it creates. Some people say it is weird but fuck 'em, it helps me sleep better!

Falling asleep with the TV on always makes me wake up in a “Where am I and what year is it?” mood. Then again, I have always been a weird person.
