Sandstone
I want to like it... it sort of feels like Hitman Reborn (which is by the same author), but I dunno something just feels lacking or off. Also I'm having a bit of a hard time getting over the idea of powers from bodily odor and pheromones as that seems to be gross.
BUU8800
I'm watching it and your uncertainty is well deserved. As I planned to say in my final thoughts when it ends it's clearly meant for younger kids, but has a plethora of violent turns that undermine that. "Tonally jarring" was the term I found myself repeating over and over on the MAL episode discussion threads. Like, you'd get fart/smell jokes and crazy goofy kiddy alien designs one moment, and a humanoid character getting a large hole blown through her chest by her brainwashed friend with tons of blood the next. That kinda stuff happened fairly frequently too, although not so much in the most recent couple episodes.
EyeOfPain
Why does Yasuomi Umetsu get work doing endings for all the shows I don't care about watching?

It's not so much the violence that bothers me... as Japanese people seem to have a much different conception about what is appropriate in terms of violence and sexuality in regards to younger audiences, it's the awkwardness in which it is displayed. If you've gotten to the Dr. Love episode(s) yet, things start getting really strange... like even more strange than before. It just leaves me feeling mixed, because it's not what I had originally started watching this particular anime for. I like weird stuff, just really wasn't expecting it to this degree out of this show, if that makes sense lmao.
BUU8800
I'm caught up, and the violence example I referenced was during the Dr. Love episodes silly! :D :D :D :D :D True, execution is what matters most.

Dr. Love is one of those strange mysterious characters that I kind of want to watch the series for just to find out what his deal is.... that's about the only thing I have liked about the show. It still feels awkward and out of place though.

I laughed pretty hard at that scene. Caught me totally off guard, which is unusual for me.
mochi
literally all I've heard concerning this show, has been this exact reaction it appears nobody knows what this show's deal is
Sandstone
Well I mean it's very odd... even by animes about aliens standards. A few examples of why this show is so bizarre, spoilers below: 1. Aliens that are apparently shaped like fruit and other bizarre things, some have hidden appendages or no appendages at all and yet can operate control panels on a spaceship/station thing that is Eldlive earth HQ 2. Chuta has a socially awkward yet extremely observant alien symbiote living attached to his stomach that allows him to use SPH which is literally whatever he imagines at the same time as "Dolugh" the symbiote in question. 3. Chuta's friend who he thought was dead in a childhood accident which he believed himself to be responsible for (whole reason for his PTSD around interacting with other people), is later found to have been rescued by aliens.... that just happen to belong to the worst criminal alien organization in the galaxy. 4. Officer Chips pilots a giant mom robot in order to retrieve him and his partner from school (which btw is hilarious). 5. Officer Chips is apparently a higher ranking officer at Eldlive earth HQ, yet has shown absolutely no use of SPH or any other useful ability for that matter, and combined with being extremely small and shaped like a jelly fish one has to wonder how Chips became an officer at all. 6. Dr. Strangelove.... yes his name is actually Dr. Strangelove, everything about him is well.... strange. He apparently is really old but seems to molt his entire body when it ages into elderly territory, emerging in a fresh young teenage boy body when this happens. 7. SPH is the super power of the show which is apparently controlled by Pheromones, which makes absolutely no sense to anyone that understands what pheromones actually are. 8. Sonokota, Chuta's Eldlive partner and apparent school girl love crush apparently hates him for no specified reason other than catching him in some awkward moments which are misconstrued to be perverted. 9. Sonokota essentially tells Chuta to kill himself or get himself killed or otherwise disappear on a regular basis. 10. Sonokota is apparently a specimen from Dr. Strangeloves mysterious science experiment, which is also named after him for whatever reason. 11. Chuta is apparently the only male agent of his species in his age group.... which begs the better question of "WHO THE FUCK EVEN RECRUITS SCHOOL KIDS AS GALACTIC POLICE OFFICERS IN THE FIRST PLACE?!" 12. The list goes on... and the strangeness just keeps getting stranger.
PokeNirvash
...Okay now I kinda wanna see this show for myself. And Sonokota sounds like Haruna Sairenji did the fusion dance with Code MENT Lelouch, with Chuta being Rito/Rivalz.

BUU8800
I'm watching it and your uncertainty is well deserved. That kinda stuff happened fairly frequently too, although not so much in the most recent couple episodes. This week's penultimate episode made for another very tonally jarring episode. We go from looking at porn at a museum to aliens invading and innocent civilians evacuated in about 8 minutes. Then Chuta gets depressed but Misuzu snaps him out of it...all of that takes about 2 minutes, max.
