Doom Metal Alchemist Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 You know how Windows 10 is really just Windows 9, but they skipped 9, because deep in the Windows code calling it Windows 9 would make it think it was from the 90s (Win 95, 98), so they just skipped over 9 to avoid that problem? Why didn't they just spell it Windows IX or Windows Nine?

As for a name like they did with Vista, nobody seemed to like Vista - so that was a non-starter.

Your reason for them not using a word like Vista is a very good point though.
