viperxmns Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Damn here I was not even being aware there were dedicated pencil brands or types used for anime productions https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2021/02/03-1/pencils-used-for-anime-creation-discontinued-in-japan-due-to-poor-sales 1 Quote
Chapinator_X Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 (edited) "The ... line doesn’t sell anymore,” Okay, but you could’ve just put the full quote in the lede instead of an awkward pause if the only omitted word was “7700”. Edited February 5, 2021 by Chapinator_X Quote
katt_goddess Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 I can see people going ape-shit trying to get the last possible stocks of them. When you are used to a particular thing, it can be rough transitioning. Especially when you don't have any choice anymore. Quote

MasqueradeOverture Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 (edited) If we are using technology this efficiently already, I'm still awaiting the day Kyle's Brushes gets introduced into the production workflow so the 80's/90's cel look can be mimicked to an uncanny degree. Surprised it hasn't imo. There's been people who made faux-Dragon Ball Super "screenshots" that look like they came straight out of 1996 using certain gouache and pen tools in that kit.
