panic
DAY 1: Popeye's and Jollibee DAY 2: Dean & DeLuca Pastrami with emmental cheese on sourdough and roasted chicken pizza with garlic bechamel, brie de meaux, mushrooms, caramelized onions, cranberry and arugala. Liked the pastrami sandwich the best. The pizza was... interesting. Profiterole ice cream sundae for dessert. Nono's Fried truffle cheese wontons. Meh. No different than any cream cheese wonton. Paradise Dynasty 8 flavor xiao long bao: original, Szechuan, ginseng, foie gras, truffle, cheese, crab roe, garlic. Original was probably the best. Salted egg yolk crystal prawns were everyone's favorite. Lamian with braised pork belly in pork bone soup for the ladies. Kung pao chicken was decent. Szechuan crispy chicken was a bit too spicy for everyone else. Fried pork buns tasted like the original xiao long bao, but without the soupy mess that comes with it. Also ordered fried pork dumplings, dynasty crispy chicken, vegetable spring rolls (didn't care for), egg fried rice, stir-fried broccoli, chilled cucumber, double boiled chicken soup (which they seemed to love), and chilled mango pudding. Motorino Picked up a margherita burrata pizza and a truffle honey quatro formaggi pizza, but didn't eat them til morning. Not bad, not great. Will probably try here again when I have time to eat it hot and fresh. Total cost for day 2 came to over $225. Little over budget.
panic
DAY 3: Shakey's Pizza delivery to hospital. Texas BBQ chicken pizza had a weird nontraditional BBQ flavor. Every time I've tried Shakey's, it's been like eating store bought frozen pizza. The worse the pizza, the more popular it seems to be here. DAY 4: Pound by Todd English Amsterdam burger and chicken sliders. Would've preferred a thinner slice of pastrami, but very tasty. Nono's Strawberry shortcake for birthday girl in hospital. Shi Lin Deep fried asado buns, pork buns, spicy shrimp and pork wontons, Japanese cucumber, and double boiled chicken soup takeout to hospital. Cara Mia Picked up gelato cake, but it would've melted before getting to the hospital, so its just sitting in the fridge in my hotel room. Had some for breakfast because nothing opens here til 10 a.m.
panic
DAY 5: Titto's Latin BBQ Salmon croquettas. Peruvian chicken with mango chutney and chimichurri salsa. Beef barbacoa street tacos with squid ink tortillas. Also got some arroz latino. Moar liek arroz blandino. How do you fuck up rice? The best thing here was actually the cucumber elderflower and pineapple ginger agua frescas. Cable Car Cable Car burger. I heard their burgers were really good, but it was nothing special. BBQ chicken quesadilla. Bit too much BBQ sauce, no cream. Edited October 14, 2019 by panic

panic
DAY 6: Agave Mexican Cantina Taco de pollo buffalo, cheese enchilada and beef taquitos. Just noticed they didn't serve the taco in a black charcoal tortilla as advertised, but it was good. Single Origin Beer dough 4-cheese pizza. The dough tasted pretty good, but there's barely any of it. I was expecting more of a traditional crust. The focus of their pizzas is the dough, so I don't understand why they chose to go with thin crust. Could have been so much better. Reuben was disgusting. The "meat" was like 90% pure fat and I ended up taking apart the sandwich and removing it all. And the chips were stale. The place looked really nice so its surprising that the food was so bad. Boulangerie22 Macarons.
panic
DAY 7: New Bombay Chicken kadai. First time trying Indian food. Was okay. Medu vada with coconut chutney and what I assume is coriander chutney. King Chef Seafood Restaurant Favorites were the asado siopao and the hakaw (not pictured). XO siomai and pork siomai. Wish I could have siomai at every meal. Kuchay dumplings. Fried prawn dumplings. Did not care for the beancurd rolls. Beef balls didn't do it for me either. Stir-fried raddish cake was pretty good. I think these were the fried taro dumplings. Kind of an odd taste, but not bad. Machang. There was glutinous rice inside with some sort of filling. Like a sticky rice ball. Not bad. Hmm... minced shrimp puff? Not sure. Steamed crabstick balls. I don't think anyone actually ordered this, though they definitely charged us for it. We also ordered crispy duck wontons and ube pumpkin buchi, which I'm fairly certain we did not receive. So busog after this meal. Had to get a lot of to-go bags because we didn't finish everything. panic
DAY 8: Gringo Adobo blackmole street taco. Very good. Truffle cheese quesadilla. Disappointing portion size. Mexicali Still hungry after Gringo, so got picadillo burritos, mission style and San Diego style. Paper Moon Mille crepe. Mango, ube and original. I will be picking up more. They were very popular. Cafe Havana Quatro quezo pizza. Parmesan, emmental, bleu cheese and mozzarella went surprisingly well together. Jipan Karaage. Not great. Some of it was just fried skin. Ebi tempura. By the time I ate it, it was cold and damp. Gyoza. I've had better store bought frozen gyoza. Edited October 17, 2019 by panic
panic
DAY 9: Tim Ho Wan BBQ pork buns. Fucking amazing. Wasabi salad prawn dumplings. Prawn dumplings. Spinach dumplings. Paper Moon Blueberry cheesecake mille crepe was good. Tiramisu not as much. Din Tai Fung Probably the best restaurant I've ever been to. Chicken cutlet was perfect. Crispy pork and shrimp wontons. Shrimp and pork siomai. Sweet n sour chicken. Salted egg yolk prawns. Crispy beef strips. Chocolate lava xiao long bao. Also had pork and roasted garlic buns, chicken xiao long bao, green squash and shrimp xiao long bao, deep fried chicken and shrimp spring rolls, and kang kong. I think I will be going back before my trip is over. Edited October 19, 2019 by panic

panic
DAY 10: Nonna's Pizza Had a big pizza party. Got chicken pesto, roast beef, spinach and goat cheese, quatro formaggi, nonna's special, hawaiian, and parma ham. Unfortunately the kimchi pizza was not available. As usual, most of it was gone by the time I remembered to take pictures. Kumori Got a bunch of different pastries with animal faces for the kids as well as custard buns, danishes and a pizza bun, but this banana oreo cheesecake thing is all I got a picture of. DAY 11: J.co Got 2 dozen donuts for everyone's breakfast. Grabbed a couple for myself. Wish I hadn't. Soban K-Town Grill They have beef and chicken for grilling, but for some reason only pork tacos were available. Makes no fucking sense. The dakgangjeong (caramelized boneless fried chicken) was really good tho.
panic
DAY 12: Banapple Banoffee pie. Mesa Salpicao duck. Wanted to try the ostrich, but unavailable. The duck was great though. Crispy leche flan. Melt Grilled Cheesery The Big Buff: house-blend of cheeses, buttery fried chicken breasts coated in buffalo sauce, pepperoni, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, smoked paprika, and aioli with side of honey and bleu cheese. So good. Banana Leaf Banana roti and garlic roti were both good. Far better than what I had at the Indian restaurant earlier in the trip. Vegetable samosas. Vietnamese spring rolls. Chicken satay. Pandan chicken. Crispy kangkong. Beef rendang. Had to try it, but the beef had a rubbery meatball texture. Baby back ribs. Pomelo salad. panic
DAY 13: Yabu: House of Katsu Mozzarella katsu sticks. Cheese gyoza. Chicken katsu curry. So good. Menchi katsu. Josephine's Salo bites (salted egg chips). Lumpiang shanghai. Pancit bihon. Shanghai rice. Bangus. This place has a great view. panic
DAY 14: Sultan Mediterranean Grill Beef shawarrito and chicken shawarma. Not great. Pretty dry. Beef koobideh. Chicken kebab. Vatos Urban Tacos Tamales. Cucumber mint juice. So good I ordered 3. Really wanted to try the tacos, but I was so full. St. Louis House of Fine Ice Cream French toast was pretty good. Mango yogurt ice cream was excellent. I've had better churros.
panic
DAY 15: Ippudo Hakata style gyoza. Deep fried gyoza. Nanban karaage. Best karaage I've had. Osaka Ohsho Karaage was not nearly as good as Ippudo. Strawberry passionfruit fizz. Apple lychee soda. The drinks were warm for some reason. The original gyoza and truffle gyoza were pretty good. Hello Kitty Cafe Raspberry frappe. Vikings Luxury Buffet My friends enjoyed the buffet, but for 1k peso per person, I was extremely disappointed. After eating at Paradise Dynasty and Din Tai Fung, the quality of the Chinese food here was like eating out of the garbage. We could have gone to the filipino buffet nearby for a quarter of the price. I didn't even bother to eat a second plate or dessert. Not a great last meal in the Philippines. At least my meal was free since my birthday is in October, although I still spent about $120 on the others. That's it. All in all it was a good trip. Didn't go 100% as expected and there are so many restaurants I didn't get a chance to visit, but I think I'll be going back probably next October if I can scrounge together enough money.
