PhilosipherStoned Posted June 15, 2019 Share Posted June 15, 2019 All I could think was maybe it's a natural basin. It would make more sense that it was made by volcanic activity. The main difference between martian volcanoes and most the ones here on earth is supposingly a lack of plate tectonics. The molten rock pushed up from the core unhindered creating massive bulges and shield volcanoes like Olympus Mons. I wish an active volcano would be discovered. That would be news.
