Not sure if I already told you but the thing that bugs Jez about her son is that he doesn't draw many original things. It's pretty cool she's drawing her own ideas that well already.

Im actually traumatized from learning to play an instrument..played for 6 years..and never learned even the FIRST thing about writing my own stuff.

So yeah its pretty cool to see when shes making up stuff

Funny, I was never encouraged or helped to play any instrument but a lot of times I whistle tunelessly until a tune shows up. To me it's just about finding the notes that follow each other. But then 10,000 songs probably live in my head, so I have an inclination to music. The piano probably would have been a good fit for me.

That sucks.  Learning my favorite bands' songs was what made playing guitar fun for me initially, but pretty quickly learning to write my own music became infinitely more rewarding over the rest of my lifetime.
