I think one of the girls I work with may have quit today

She was talking about it anyway.

I don't really know what's going on because I just overheard some shit and wasn't really part of the conversation but it sounds like some shit went down with the dude she was staying with (who she called her "roommate" but it sounds like they were hooking up and also she moved from Iowa to here because of him or something?).

Anyway she said something about having all her stuff packed and what time she could get back to her family in Iowa "if I quit my job today". And she was complaining about how his family told her to just get an apartment for herself because she's not from here and doesn't know what neighborhoods are good.

Such riveting drama.

JOB COMPLAINT THREAD. i was wondering where these were

Is this a complaint? I technically work with her but there's two different teams and I'm on team A while she's on B. In other words her quitting doesn't really impact my work.

I guess I am kind of complaining at the fact that an adult goes through a break-up (or whatever) and decides that quitting her job with no notice and driving 11 hours back home is easier than finding a fucking apartment in one of the many safe, affordable neighborhoods in and around Cleveland. This isn't San Francisco ffs a single person has plenty of options just use fucking Google you're a social worker that's like what we do best.

technically it probably is easier

but she has no reason to stay. she moved there to be with him, they broke up, so now he's "roommate" status. she left as soon as she decided it was truly over or as soon as she felt like making the drive.

Maybe but she could give some notice at least.

Idk for sure if she actually left tho.

So apparently she wasn't even in a relationship with this dude but was in love with him. He wanted an open relationship but she didn't and she knew this but still decided to move here to live with him and his family. And she's worried about finding a place because she broke her lease at another place she lived and owes $1300.

But she's going to try to stay here for now I guess.

Hot damn. 1300 for a broken lease is crazy.

What doesn't sound bad the $1300 or the whole situation

The $1300 for a broken lease. Sounds like a months payment for a 2 bedroom apartment

Depends on where you live. That'd be a bit high for this area unless it was a "luxury" apartment in one of the up-and-coming areas. Though she did say that was in Denver so it makes sense.

And yeah apparently she told all this super personal info/drama in her life to some of my coworkers on like, her first day.

Sounds like she's a hot mess.

Indeed.

I just hope she has better boundaries with her clients than she does her coworkers cause she appears to have almost none with us.
