Moved into a "new" apartment. Probably a mistake.

Rent kept increasing, so I had to pack my shit and move out. I downgraded to a cheaper apartment in a rough part of town. Just got internet in two weeks ago.

My previous apartment was cleaner. But the heating system is only comprised of radiators and the only cooling system I have during the hotter months is a *free* air conditioner left from them that I haven't tested yet. My landlord is a dick and so are my current neighbors.

Someone was also shot and killed last night just two blocks away. Yeah. I think I fucked up.

Why didn't you buy?

Mortgages are life-long investments. Says so in the root terminology of the word.

I don't like the idea of being chained to a specific location for a long time. The apartment comes with a one year lease, so I am stuck here until December of next year unless the building ends up condemned (unlikely) or the landlord ends up in jail (which could be possible based on the rumors surrounding what he does).

I did something similar but it wasnt so much a bad neighborhood, it was just under some frat guys that literally fucked chicks and vacuumed intermittently all day. I ended up having to complain to the leasing office. Damn I miss that 1st apartment. But I kinda want a townhouse or a small house next

That sounds like a much better scenario here, to be honest.

I can hear police sirens right now. I don't know if I can live down here for a year. I got what I'm paying for I guess...
