Daos
Ok so DXD Hero came out today and ...... apparently they retconned the last episode from last season and did kind of a "redo." So from what I've heard, the studio that did the first 3 seasons screwed up the final episode so badly that the author got pissed off and basically refused to work with the studio anymore. My question is... can anyone think of an anime that got switched to a different studio that uses a drastically different art style before? I'm not sure I've seen anything like this ever. And fun fact, the English VA of the MC Issei was replaced during S3 due to the fact that he was arrested and sentenced to 3 years in prison for possessing child porn. Chapinator_X
I’ve always been curious about DxD because fan service shows are always nice, but it’s interesting to hear that there’s been such a tumultuous history with the author and the anime because of the final episode. At the very least, it was that one episode they had to retcon and not entire seasons like what they had to do with Blue Exorcist or Black Butler. And damn, this is the first time I’ve heard Scott Freeman had to retire because he was busted for child porn and disowned by Funi. I guess it’s because most of his stuff was bit roles or shows I watched subbed, but it does make his character on Index a lot creepier in hindsight. Between him and Cromartie High School’s Hayashida having to retire because he married his 16 year old student, these Texas VAs are wild. PokeNirvash
I've still only seen season 1 of DxD, but I may watch it in the future once I get done with everything else DxD related. Yes, even BorN. I remember back when the whole "Scott Freeman jailed and blacklisted" thing was all new and took various digs at it in my Trunks thread comments for Michiko and Hatchin. Such a shame, too, Scott really nailed it in his role as Shinsuke.
Daos
Yeah it's a damn shame, his voice was perfect for the character and really helped make the series what it is today. I mean, how many ecchi series get 4 seasons?
