Exactly! It’s like now you have to not only know what it is u want to find but how to manipulate the thing to make it give you the thing you want

and good lord help u if you’re trying to find something about your friend and they happen to have the same name as an athlete or something

And sometimes w/fuckin google when you put something in quotes or a -something to exclude it, it just ignores your search booleans bc it thinks it know better

It’s true. I use DuckDuckGo 90% of the time. I used to curse the fact that it wasn’t as modern as the other search engines, but lately it actually gives me better results bc it’s more oldschool

It depends on the engine. Sometimes quotes help me even on google

I myself use Startpage, which is essentially the same as DDG.

I read some stuff about the developers at DDG that gave me a sour feeling but now I can't recall what they were and I'm too entrenched in habit to change now.
