Ohhh see that's cool. I thought it was just a regular notebook. Buy me a Nintendo Switch?

at hobby lobby for $9!

Yep, they usually have decent sales and there are enough different sizes to pick through. Hobby Lobby is closer to me than Michaels but otherwise I don't have a direct preference.

And I can't remember what I quoted as what I spent but I got the niecelette a sketch spiral notebook, a leather-bound notebook and one of those sketching sets in a wooden carry case for like $30 or so with sales and a coupon.

there was a sketch kit for $20 with pencils and 3 different kinds of sketch books but it had leather bound...no spirals...it would have been hard to draw in so i didnt get it. got the big black sketch book and this huge art set thingie with pencils and paint $18 after the coupon

@katt_goddess

and @Still Me

said theirs cost $20

It depends really...if the paper is smooth and waxy it’s not good sketch paper...it should be treated to prevent yellowing and have a rough texture and the pages should be thick almost like card stock

Do it! Nurture that habit...I went that route in school...it was a lot of fun if you have schools in your district that have awesome art electives...like I took a pottery and sculpture class in high school...still have that shit too...

oh i do nurture her art! i bought her an easel when she was 4 and a painting she did ended up winning first place in an art contest against her whole school and was on display in the art gallery downtown (i had the painting framed). Her art teacher pushed her to draw things instead of tracing and i thought itd take her years to draw freehand but shes doing it now already at 8 years old. cant wait to see how awesome she'll be in 5 or 10 years.
