Dude are you serious? If I'm watching a show I love I almost can never get enough of it. And if you notice, when binging long-runners, they flow a lot better that way. And if the pacing is too slow it's not nearly as noticeable. A lot of shows are improved by binging rather than watching week to week. I went through hours upon hours of One Piece eps back in the day to catch up to Toonami's premiere. Bleach and InuYasha I would watch and re-watch just for fun. You can also skip filler! I've done it with shorter shows too. At the same time I can get my fill and then I might take a break and watch or do something else. I think weekly is probably good for first time airings. It builds anticipation and hype and well, makes it last longer. It's fun for the fans and discussion. Mandalorian was great this way. But I'm not completely against dropping them all at once, either. People can watch at their own pace and if the show is really that great it will be talked about for a long time after the episodes dropped, well beyond the time that would have taken if the episodes had aired weekly. And it hasn't hurt Netflix, has it? Not that I am interested in their shows at all, but they seem to be generally well-received. And they have grown their brand and subscriber base. Right now, I am re-watching all of the Forensic Files episodes, since the show was brought back by HLN. It is the best show on the forensics subject, in my opinion. Always been one of my favorites TV shows. But I am having to use the Wikipedia episode guide because Netflix has them in a random jumbled order for some unknown reason, and I want to watch them in airdate order, and Netflix is missing a few episodes so I have to go to YouTube for those. I am mostly using Netflix, despite its issues, because the episodes are probably higher video quality than on YouTube. I still will never forget the "Raw Terror" episode where the kid eats the half-cooked or raw piece of hamburger meat and almost dies. (Not every episode was a murder case, some covered accidents and illnesses.) That is why I became so obsessed with food safety, expiration dates, and don't eat anything raw or undercooked! Steak that isn't well done is disgusting anyways. And no you don't have to cook it to hell to get it well done! Sorry, got on a tangent there lol.

Yeah DeMarco is out of touch and doesn't want to adapt. Ironic considering Toonami used to be the rebels and now they are the dinosaurs they once rebelled against. When DeMarco goes the way of Blockbuster will he have to commit seppuku?

My thoughts on his answers - Okay sorry but I'm not seriously concerned with Uzumaki. I won't be heartbroken if it gets delayed. They don't know what's going to happen if MHA isn't dubbed in time by the time they need the episodes. Sure inspires confidence in their abilities! Again same thing on Blade Runner. I liked the original movie but I could take or leave this series. HAHAHAHA no plans to bring Boruto back! I told you! And many of us told you DeMarco is a bullshitter! His previous comment "I'm sure it will be back at some point" LOL. DeMarco says they want to air the new Bleach eps! YES! But screw the guy who asked the question that said the last arc "objectively bad." Art and entertainment is subjective! Your opinion is not fact! DO NOT MAKE MORE FLCL SHOWS DAMN IT! Progressive was good enough for what it was, yes, and I'm glad the characters and elements from it exist, and yes it added to the universe, but was not nearly as good or memorable as the original. And Alternative was a mess! Lol at DeMarco having issues with Progressive and not, or not also, Alternative. DeMarco bullshitting with more vagaries about block length. It would be cool to see the DC animated stuff on the block they swore off movies, so...

So they aren't doing like Funimation is and continuing operations? Or was Funimation just doing that for the subtitled stuff and not the dubs? If the shows Toonami had earmarked will be delayed for that long then they may have no choice but to pick up some other shows that are already in the can. I don't know if they can afford that though. Maybe they could bring Bleach back or add more slots for Shippuden, as Angel suggested. I'm not a big fan of Shippuden, but hey, it would get it off the block faster.

Feudal Japan was such a different world to modern Japan, especially with the demons and other supernatural aspects, it was effectively another world. No, Bebop and Trigun don't count, for the reasons I described in my post above. Yes, different world, dimension, universe, etc. I hadn't heard of the term back then, but to me, SAO would count from the beginning. It's a totally different world, even if it's a virtual world. Yes Underworld is more of a world since it has a native population who only know that world and then Kirito and Asuna go there. Aincrad was all just the players, but still, I think it counts. Oh yeah, I guess Narnia would be the original Isekai. So in other words Demarco was bullshitting again? I don't really see what difference one week is going to make if the show is only dubbed to 83. Though Funimation did say they were rejiggering things for people to work from home and not outright stopping dub production, right? JoJo ended in Japan some time ago didn't it? Looks like it ended in July of 2019. So they would have plenty of time to dub. Depends on when they started dubbing, but dubbing doesn't take so long as it did back in the old days, so maybe it's already finished. Hmm yeah.
-
That is not the same thing at all. Isekai is someone suddenly transported to another world, universe, might be a better term. In Bebop the solar system has been colonized and that's just how the world is then. On Trigun, again, those people have lived their whole lives there and don't remember the Earth.

So we have a good buffer for Black Clover then. Only 4 episodes left, surely those were done a while ago. So we don't have to worry about losing Food Wars... yay... I think they could but maybe they already have the money put towards the shows they intended to get and spare any to get shows to fill the gap? MHA only that far, then yeah it is taking a break for sure. Crap. I'm sure SAO is probably all done. Only 2 episodes left of that in this cour, in any case. Has Aniplex announced that any of their operations will be delayed?
-
You quoted my post when I was having issues editing it! He said they just haven't had a good opportunity to air one yet. InuYasha is definitely an Isekai. DBZ not really beause that was retcon after the fact, and Goku doesn't know anything else but the Earth his whole life anyway. I don't know how you are getting Bebop and Trigun as being Isekai.
-
Also, just to put it out there, since it was being discussed in another thread. Demarco said they don't have anything against Isekai shows. https://ask.fm/Clarknova/answers/158623612137 Do you have something against airing isekai (transported/trapped in another world) anime on Toonami other than SAO? There have been at least a handful of them that are great shows with plenty of action. Nothing against Isekai. Just haven’t had a good opportunity to air another one.
-
But they wouldn't have gotten that break without the virus. True if they have kids I could see that. The virus isn't really killing that many kids but it's still not a fun virus to have. Also would be an issue if the actors are living with older people or people with weakened immune systems and other underlying health issues. Most companies aren't forcing anyone to work right now, either. So if just one person drops out of the dub that delays the whole show. I just wonder how far ahead some of the shows are dubbed.
-
Because as mentioned, making a separate page was pointless. I don't know why they can't air any shows that have already been dubbed, "in the can," if you will. I suppose they already have money put towards the shows they originally intended to air. Putting something else on would also delay the arrival of those originally planned shows further, depending on how long such stopgap shows would be and how long coronavirus is a serious issue. Isn't most dubbing done with one person sitting in a booth, though? And some people have studios at home.

My Hero Academia Episode #80 (417) DISCUSSION!!!
ben0119 replied to mochi's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
Well most shonens especially are hesitant to kill anyone. Then someone will die only for us to find out they didn't actually die after all. I personally wasn't affected much by Night Eye dying since I didn't like him at all. But Aoyama is probably pretty expendable (as are tons of the other students who haven't been developed,) so I guess I could see it. -

I dunno man most shows are pretty allergic to killing characters. -
I'm not really sure why Alice developed feelings for him just because they fought against each other and then together for a brief time, then she took care of him while he was out. Which, that is justifiable, but falling in love with him? Then Ronye apparently had a crush on him, which seems like it came out of nowhere to me. It wasn't established, like Tiese's feelings for Eugeo. Either way, her deal with Kirito is not much of anything. Then there is Liena, who was his mentor, and as far as I can tell, didn't and still doesn't seem to have feelings for him. Either way, Kirito was not in a relationship with any of them and didn't have sex with them. Pronably the only girl you could plausibly say that for would be Sachi. They had a scene where they shared a bed together and Kirito went as far as to get a device that he thought could bring her back to life. But she's dead and that was before Kirito was with Asuna. I just found this from the wiki - In the web novel, Sachi was Kirito's first love prior to Asuna.[8] In addition to this, Kirito's and Sachi's relationship was depicted as being more intimate, and close in the web novel version of the story. However, subtle changes in the text of the published version imply that Kirito and Sachi were not as close as in the web novel. The light novels supersede the original web novels as canon. I think I also remember Reki saying in an interview that Kirito ONLY loved Asuna. So he back-tracked on the Sachi stuff. But Kirito and Sachi's relationship could still come off as romantic in the anime. Either way, like I said, she's dead now and that was before he was with Asuna. The point is Kirito hasn't cheated on Asuna in any way. He certainly did not "fuck 4 or 5 other girls, including his sister/cousin" as Mochi claimed. LOL are you serious? I don't think I ever even heard of something so crazy even on Jerry Springer or the like. And he fooled doctors?! They should have done brain scans. Man, what a bastard lmao.
