Yep, we had a full-on urban shonen battle in Paranoia Agent. The sword swinger vs the giant hulking monstrous Lil Slugger made me think of Bleach. But the guy's outfit, fantasy-themed ranting, and what looked to be an attempted sword skill made me think of SAO. Probably doesn't help I have had both on the brain lately. Bleach is finally coming back, and the last 2 SAO episodes have been awesome! Ah yes, watching the SAO episode was the other thing that made me late lol.

I'm late and watching behind on the DVR. I'll catch up during the Mob rerun I guess. I had to rearrange my room to swap my desk chair with my recliner, since the other day I dropped my glasses in the bathroom at Sam's Club, then the automatic flusher went off. Not joking. I was eligible for new glasses since January, but I wasn't sure if it could be any time in January or had to be after the specific date in January I went there last year. So I waited until after that, and then kind of forgot and got distracted with other things, then covid happened. Literally if I hold my hand more than 2-3 feet away from my face, it gets blurry. So yeah, I'm fucked. I've got my desk chair about 2 feet from the TV. That thing about sitting too close to the TV ruining your vision is bullshit, right?

Just re-watched the 2 episodes of peak Aizen trolling where he fights everyone and whips all of them. Good stuff. I was annoyed at this part back then at what I thought was some new hotshot dub director arbitrarily deciding Aizen should be called Sosuke by the characters now. Now I see it was just Shinji who did it. This must be intentional. Because of how "close" they were as captain and lieutenant? Shinji calls him by his first name ironically lmao.

I was going to make a thread about the SAO panel specifically but since people were already talking about it in here, it seemed redundant. Yeah, I could see that. You should have seen the new episode. It was godly. The art and animation was probably the best I have ever seen from SAO (though I still haven't gotten around to watching Ordinal Scale.) So fucking good. It had great action and also some emotional moments. Well paced, a lot happened in the episode. But not rushed either. I think even not-so-big fans of SAO would like it, but I could be wrong. I'm kind of biased since SAO is one of my favorite series. I guess I am probably one of the only people here who truly, genuinely likes the show, even with all its flaws lol (though I don't agree on all of what people say are flaws of course, but I get tired of relitigating that.) But yeah, I need to grab the screenshot of Mon Mothma when she gives the Bothans line, and put this for the meme text - "THE NEW SAO EPISODE PREMIERES" "MANY BOTHANS DIED TO BRING US THIS ANIMATION" Hell, you could even just watch the OP to see what I'm talking about!
