  1. Also that first One Piece episode was when the show went HD. So I think it was a combo of that and wanting to show new to TV content, but not jumping so far ahead people don't know what's going on. Long Ring Long is also a good low stakes arc where you can see how the crew is normally, get to know them a bit, before the shit hits the fan in Water 7/Enies Lobby. It's too bad they didn't get to show Marineford, though.
  2. Edited my post. I see the sources given for Frieza are Daizenshuu etc, so pretty official sources. The jump from form 3 to 4 seems way too much. That's way too high for 17 and 18 and WAY too big a jump for Cell. Doesn't even make sense he could get that strong since his strength came from the DNA, absorbing people, and the androids. But what is your definition of "way more powerful?" Frieza was portrayed as being god level compared to everyone else, yes, but while the androids were stronger than the Z Fighters, Trunks and the others were able to at least fight them. They were a step or few above. No one else really had the portrayal that Frieza had of being a totally different universe of power. She was putting up a fight against Spopavitch for at least a while. Both were able to fly and use chi. It seems clear he would be weaker than the Z Fighters but still somewhere in the range of the super-powered fighters. He was Majin after all. Don't forget how strong other humans were able to get. Videl at least was most certainly not in the double digits. And think of how much Gohan would have to hold back to spar with her. My other points from the last post stand.
  3. I don't recall him or the series ever saying that each new character was 10x stronger than the last. Pretty sure that 1 million thing was filler? Power levels didn't exist before Raditz showed up either, and I think before and after stated power levels, just showing power through exposition, abilities, feats, battles in contrasting characters etc was good enough. It gave you a good sense of things. I don't know, that old list that was floating around the Internet in the early 2000s that topped out with Super Saiyan 4 in the early billions seemed pretty believeable in terms of all the characters with what was shown onscreen. Even then I think things might have been too high, in retrospect. Edit - Here it is. http://www.oocities.org/gohan2000_nz/powerlevelsmain.html This is what we had back in the day that I remember. Some of the other lists I found have 17 and 18's power levels different, which is STUPID. They're twins! Looks like a source was dbzgtlegacy, which sadly is no longer around. Found no sign of the GT levels so far either. I hope I still have that list saved or printed out somewhere. Anyway, these seem much more reasonable, but again, even these could be too high. And watching the rest of that video not only are numbers ridiculous but characters' in strength in relation to each other is nonsensical. Supreme Kai stronger than Dabura or Goten and Trunks? Lolno. There's no way Videl, Spopavitch, and the other guy were THAT weak either. And the increases from removing weights is ridiculous. Really, that video is just retarded, and I'm not the only one that thinks so, given some of the comments. Well yes, fusion forms being that much more powerful makes sense.
  4. Hey I think you're right! That makes a lot of sense. And yeah Kid Buu is definitely more dangerous in other ways. I think the actual numbers in that video are bullshit though. I think that old power level list that had Super Saiyan 4 in the billions or whatever turned out to be nonsense too. But this video is even more over the top than that.
  5. But that's bullshit! It's Ghost in the Shell! And why would the Korean version have English audio? Is it even this dub?
  6. That's what I mean. It seems like Kid Buu is more dangerous, not necessarily more powerful, though I had thought it was both originally. It was explained differently in this Kai version, which is supposed to be a more accurate script to the Japanese version of the anime, and the manga.
  7. Are they going to redo it or come out with another version? Because this is definitely a show worth owning, even in this day and age of streaming and cash-strapped wallets. But when I heard about that botched release I was like aw fuck.
  8. If/when cable goes the way of Blockbuster, will Demarco commit seppaku? Not sure how Toonami can remain cutting edge at this rate. Cable companies refuse to change and adapt and offer better pricing options, whilst streaming services ruthlessly tear through them like Langoliers. And Demarco continues to make equally baffling decisions.
  9. It's almost as if not literally every anime is affiliated with Netflix, yet Demarco still fails to get them.
  10. Not only that but in the old days they had to compete with other actual TV networks that ran anime once upon a time. They pulled dickish moves too, like buying shows Toonami wanted and sitting on them. There's going to be competition. Does he expect to do business in a vacuum? So yeah there's no excuse really.
  11. Which goes to show you where Demarco's priorities are and his thinking is.
  12. That's after the fact. Demarco was the one endlessly pestering people in Japan for years for them to make more FLCL, like a child, until they finally gave in. All this time everyone else was content with FLCL being the singular lightning in a bottle classic masterpiece that it was. Things were set and that was that. But Demarco couldn't leave well enough alone. And now the block is suffering for it.
  13. Obviously not, that's an exaggeration. But clearly whatever they are doing is draining funds to such a degree, even with likely assistance from Adult Swim's main budget, that we have no new shows. This isn't sustainable. The block shouldn't rot just so Demarco can get his fanboy fap on. Where are the shows, then? Outlaw Star was replaced by a rerun. Cowboy Bebop was to "play it since the HD tapes never got aired in full," but it's airing again, and not as a "placeholder" since apparently Demarco said it was running in full. A rerun of a rerun. A waste of a slot and one less premiere. Now FLCL is playing for the 80 billionth time to lead in to the new series. It won't have Demarco's intended effect if the new shows end up being a pile of shit by comparison, airing them back to back with the original will make that explicit. And FLCL was always a NICHE SERIES.
  14. Yeah. It's like Kishimoto made all these characters and then didn't know what to do with them. But with Anko you'd think it would be pretty easy!
  15. Of course the army had to show up and fuck things up. Those mecha suits are creepy. Kuze wants to throw down with Bato. But not til next week!
  16. How much is that in dollars and accounting for future inflation? Kuze can win almost anyone over. He's quite charismatic!
  17. They've appeared in a few eps since then but like I said didn't keep track.
  18. Kuze used the powers of maths and bank account hacking to get the realcashmoneys.
  19. Using floppies and other old tech is a good way to guard against people getting into that data. I know they're just bots but those girls are hot. Don't think ours will ever get past the uncanny valley.
