How do you know that? The 4Kids dub is pretty infamous. I think that effect is overstated. One Piece's nature and art style just doesn't appeal to most anime fans. They see it as too kiddy, corny, over-the-top, etc. Yup, One Piece is a solid B+ player.

Naruto needs to go away, period. It wore out its welcome. Shippuden is stuffed to the hilt with filler, and the actual canon story takes a shitty direction, despite some decent moments and arcs. Now when I re-watch Naruto Part 1 it's not even as good as I remember, and I don't even have the excuse of being a kid when I first watched it making me think it was better than it was lmao. Tokyo Ghoul is bad and no it wouldn't be good if they did it like the totally good manga. Casshern held promise, but it derailed itself towards the end with some wasteful episodes, then rushed the ending which was a disappointing troll. But yeah boring too I could see, heh. Aww but Black Clover is charming. I like it. Oh, understanding Unicorn wouldn't make it good, trust me. I'm familiar with the Universal Century series and all of them I've seen are cliche, pretentious, tryhard, sappy, and melodramatic, starring emo crybaby protagonists. Mikazuki was a breath of fresh air (and non-UC series,) but of course they had to go and ruin that with the second season...

You don't experiment to such an extreme degree with valuable slots that could derail the rest of the block. It's because anime is mainstream in Japan. People who like sports in Japan watch sports anime. But anime is niche in the U.S. and watched by nerds and most nerds don't like sports, so they don't watch sports anime. Also Prince of Tennis is shit. I love Dragon Ball, but you're right. It's a gateway anime for lots of people, for me, it was "I hate every anime but DBZ," but many people clearly never got past that point. People didn't leave Toonami (or ASA) in droves after Bleach! Hell, Demarco said ASA would've gotten canceled before Toonami ever got a chance to come back, without it. If only Kubo hadn't been screwed over by Jump! And by the by, barely anyone watches Shippuden (if it was expensive like One Piece, it'd be gone,) as evidenced by its position on the block, a great fall from its prior prominence when it premiered. Most people watched it online already or moved on from Naruto entirely. The same thing is going to happen with Boruto, just you watch. I told you you shoulda got Fairy Tail, Demarco!

I think he just finally decided to stop being an asshole. Everything in the Buu Saga finally ingrained it in his head to stop doing stupid shit. Not to mention he was kind of lying to himself there anyway, saying how he settled down and had a family and thought he was happy, but lost his honor and became like a weak earthling, etc. and Goku calls him on it.

Toonami almost never used to cut after-credits scenes. That was one of the many things they made a point of being better than ASA about. Demarco is letting us down.

It honestly feels that way to me a lot of the time. Asta is this loud, hyper, annoying kid who is obsessed with becoming the Wizard King. Even the other characters are highly annoyed by him. He's the typical oblivious and clueless shonen protagonist, but to the ridiculous point he has vowed to marry a fucking nun, but doesn't notice multiple, available women taking a liking to him. In this episode, Asta said he would be friends with the snow guy after he realized what an awful person he was being, and got done doing some soul searching. Like literally minutes before this the guy was torturing children. Not even Naruto or Luffy would be that forgiving. Noelle is a tsundere to such a cartoonish degree that she argues with herself, not just out loud, but in inner monologue, and was threatened that a six year old said she wanted to marry Asta! I mean, come on! Asta now has multiple excitable people declaring themselves his rival. The rest of the Black Bulls are mostly 1-dimensional joke characters, but I have to give credit for them developing Gauche into an actual person, and even having him grow and decide to help others besides his sister and act some semblance of normal. Maybe he won't do the nose bleed thing anymore and we can chalk up the way he was early on as the author not quite ironing his character out yet, and going too far with a joke to the point of creepiness. I mean, stuff like what I mentioned definitely comes off as parody, but Black Clover has honest stuff about it too, so I don't know, maybe it is a parody, and like you said, didn't go far enough to make it obvious. Of course, just because it's a parody doesn't mean it can't have genuine story and character development, adventures, etc. but you know what I mean.

Well the last time they moved the whole block it messed up ratings. Such drastic schedule changes aren't a good idea. They won't repeat that mistake, at least according to what Demarco said at the time. The audience didn't adjust so they moved it back.

Flashbacks to other multi-dimensional shenanigans. Heh now the Gogol and Jaicro are using mobile suits. Dandy strung up! Johnny is back! I was wrong about only seeing the Aloha-Oe using it's beam in the library episode. We get a decent shot of it here in "normal" art style. Bea betrayal. We saw a hint of his true nature in the library episode when he was visibly angry over Dandy "ruining everything."
